Drivers eye view, Newport to Sandringham and return to Newport, TAIT, Feb 2024

Travel with the train driver as we travel from Newport to Sandringham and return to Newport in the suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on a restored TAIT electric suburban train that is over 100 years old. This train was running special shuttle trips for the general public on this day in February, 2024.

For the first 5 minutes I thought wow, this Tait does not whine as much as I remember them. I am glad to see (and hear) it get going with the noise after that. I used to ride them when I was younger and in my early teens from memory (I am pretty sure they were still going in the early 80's ?). I missed them and the Harris trains when they were gone. Even the Hitachi's had a bit of personality but to me it all got a bit bland after that (but no doubt more comfortable). Thanks for posting it, it would be great to see a view from inside that shows the controls. From memory they are quite interesting.
