terrific video, i use both at a beginner level. I definitely notice wix creates better websites, but Shopify does the sales part so much more efficiently.
You missed the fact that while shopify does reduce transaction fees, the transaction fees last I checked on WIX are already lower. So the " lowering" isnt a problem if wix standard is already less. Also WIX has the free website feature (not only 14 days) which gives you more time to set things up before having to spend any money to start the selling part.
Shopify recently added 2% transaction fee on 3rd party payments… so they want to put their hand out for payments they aren’t even processing… this increased my shopify monthly fee 250% to $600/mth plus transaction fees that they deduct from each transaction made via shopify payments. I’ve used shopify for about 8 years, this is a BAD decision by them and many people will be looking to leave Shopify due to this decision
I agree, that‘s a big con for shopify. In your situation though, it probably makes sense to either us shopify payments (if you can) or upgrade your shopify plan to reduce the fee to 1% or 0.5% depending on the plan.
The prices on Shopify have gone way up $39 basic $105 Shopify and $399 advanced. I'm here to figure out whether I should drop Shopify and go back to Wix
I'm going back to Wix and using the $5 a month service on Shopify (although I'm sure that has gone up too) to pay to sell on social media. Paying 3 years in advance means I'm only spending $9.00 a month on wix. That suits me better.
I believe presentation is better than having just simple themes. It'll attract the customers attention. Shopify themes are just so plain, too much for the price and fees they ask to be honest.
Hey mate idk much about website design and stuff. Does wix provide the same logistic features as Shopify. Like I'm starting to build my own brand and i want a not so boring themes of Shopify
The issue is that no one tells you the truth.. Shopify has hidden fees.. Like you can't have dropshipping live rates if you pay monthly.. Or you pay annual or extra 20 dollars on the basic shopify plan.. So it's 50 dollars a month.. And also wix store that can't be found easy on Google your store and you need a paid app to dropship in wix.. So all is way more expensive than shows...no less than 100 dollar a month in reality.. Still OK but that without paid ads.. Still OK but what I hate is those so called pros that they don't say all story
@@askaine Actually you don't need to pay on Wix for a domain. I buy my domains through GoDaddy and connect it to Wix. There are other domain sites out there that you can use as well.

Another point that I would add to Wix is they are not as restrictive to the type of business you want to open. Specifically for adult creators - shopify won't allow this type of business on their platform, but Wix does as long as you use a 3rd party provider for payments.
With Wix you MUST be a registered business. Since I am small, It would cost too much to open up and register a business LLC. I do not see where you talk about this?? I can't do payments on wix unless it is a one time purchase.
I personally think that Shopify customer support as not as great many people talk about. I have created a case last Friday and till this day the issue has not been resolved yet. I’m disappointed with their customer support. I chose them because the wonderful things people said about them but I personally think that is exaggerated.
I built my previous online store using WIX n I found it a lot easier to build Apple-like website than Shopify. Am I right that Shopify only allows you create ONE page with graphics n text while the other pages are only made of plain text? How ridiculous if that’s the case - I just couldn’t find the command in Shopify that lets you add new pages
With Wix, the website templates are free, easy to create/use, and outstanding! But with Shopify, their free templates are trash and the templates you pay for are expensive, and I don’t like that I have to download their themes just to use them.
#1 Reason I Chose Shopify over Wix is the pricing. Other reasons include Full Control when I want to make any changes to the website, But I can agree that with Product sourcing for DropShipping, Shopify was better at the time. Modalyst though I think fills that gap. Who else Chose Wix over Shopify?
Me here. I moved to wix from shopify, cause I need more customized design of my site. But after I tried I would say modalyst can't fill the gap completely, not enough products to choose, and with limited products the competition could be more fierce. So I always use other dropagents.
Can you please do a video on an email prospecting tool called Aeroleads, a friend of mine recommended it for my small business, but I don't know what should I do, I've been watching your videos a lot lately and would like to know your review about this product too, if it's not too much to ask.
I think the answer is yes, regardless of the payment methods chosen by your customers. Wix can send your money to PayPal. But I'm also a beginner and not very knowledgeable. However, if you have any topics you'd like to discuss, we can chat and exchange ideas. Hahaha.
Once the website is done and I start selling products do I have to pay a monthly subscription? I'm not sure I can afford 30$ per month only for that. Any advice? thank you
Yes, no way around paying the subscription. Includ that in your cost of operation. Revenue-Cost of operations=your burn out rate (how long your company can operate calculated in months. How many months can you afford that until sales increase. If it is none or not many, how can you use other means for selling your products? Business to Business, reaching out to people with social media, in your contacts, artisan markets
Shopify doesn't have a plan for a small business start-up. The lesser plan is for selling on social media. Wix has 50% off plans on two year subscription which is economical for a startup small business. But domain cost is higher on Wix.
I watched your video about Transfer wise that you explain it's so helpful I couldn't find the video that you said you are going to explain next about the multi currency account and the wise debit card please can you do the video next
Shopify automatically has it built in, as it’s solely an e-commerce platform to my understanding. Whereas with wix, more versatile for creating sites for anything, so yes wix you have to add the an Ecom store app but Shopify it’s automatically built in to all sites

Wix is better and is constantly improving. Shopify is so much more expensive. It's a no brainer.
I had problems with shopify. You have to be careful using most apps they leave codes and will destroy your store.
