- See this loco converted into a different shunter or switcher in later videos on my channel. Random impulse purchase of Playmobil train set which is RC. It also has directional lights, sound and horn functions. Could be useful on the garden railway layout.
love your videos, after seeing this video and others I purchased one of these locos. They are great. I was very impressed with the quality and even the pulling power for a child's toy. I converted mine into a "Baby Kamel " based on the HSB BR199, I posted a video of it on my UA-cam channel. thank you for sharing your ideas and ventures in garden railroading.
Hi Mike. I must have a look at that. These Playmobil locomotives are so robust. I ended up getting three of them. A very useful stand by for the garden railway, and very good value compared to LGB.
Good price for what you get there John , should go well on the garden layout
At garden viewing distances it should look OK. Had thought I might need to build a new body - but this one is OK for me.
Pretty damned good for 90 quid. You'll have some fun with that I should think. Don't keep the neighbours awake at night with your horn though........lol.....David
It certainly feel robust enough to survive my bad driving! Perhaps no horns after 10pm!
Very good price that! I used to have one and it was great fun, I had one of there earlier sets with the steam loco. Perfect for 45mm gauge lines too.
I am pleased and hope to now finish the circuit to try it out.
:O now this i right up my street!!! That is an awesome bit of kit, i love it!!! Not just becoz of the involvement it has wi this project, but its a lil shunter diesel too, my faves lol!!!! I cant wait to c this bombing round ur track, esp wi the lights n sounds!! Ur neighbours r gonna love it lol! Bargain!!!

Excellent Tom Jenssen. You need to check your setting as I can't respond to your comment. I am sure you will enjoy it, the Playmobil is an excellent base for lots of hacking and conversion.

Hi Ralph-Peter. That is a very good piece of information. I am impressed with its running and will look for the site because I would be interested in other models.
I now have three of these, one original colour, one red and one green - all a little bit different - chopped about and modified. I think I have put videos of them all up here but you may need to browse my channel to find them

Tom jenssen Hi Tom, I hope it is working out well. I can now reply to you. I've had a couple of great running sessions with them this Easter with young children driving. They love the Playmobil locos pulling Thomas trucks. The couplings don't quite match.
