Solution | Error:1603 Radeon Software Partially/Not Installed Error

Simple solution for the error which occurs while installing the Radeon graphics driver in PC
Follow the steps: No download required
1. Open Registry Editor Run- regedit
2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore
3. Set the value of DWORD "GameDVR_Enabled" to 0
4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\
5. Create key "GameDVR".
6. Create DWORD 32bit called "AllowGameDVR" and set to 0
7. Restart your computer.

In my case the Adrenalin Crimson software to update does not carry through to completion with an error 1603. This is Radeon's inefficient method of updating driving people crazy. I went through hell and back weeks trying to figure it out. Back and forth with technical support and all the ridiculous so called fixes. Some so called solutions I didn't even try - to complicated. I noticed that the update executable is in the AMD folder fully downloaded. I just clicked on it and it completely installed!!!! So I come to realize that the update is downloaded but you have to physically locate it and complete the installation. That's why it says partially installed error 1603 and does not carry it through to completion through Radeon Adrenalin software. How stupid.

@vladu 123 look in your AMD folder and what you downloaded from the software or Radeon's website will be there. I don't know the name because I'm not in front of the computer but you'll recognized it. It will say the latest update you downloaded. In my case to my surprise all the update versions over time was there.

Wait… in AMD folder i have sub folders with a few versions of driver. Last time I installed 19.1.1 and it installed partially. One of these subfolders in C:\AMD folder is the 19.1.1 version too. So all I have to do is only open that folder and use setup.exe to complete the fucked up before installation and restart computer? Or should I make a clean install with DDU? I don't want to do clean install because I never did it before so I am scared of making something wrong.
Edit: Everything is ok! Just completed the installation and than installed the newest driver.

Worked for me. Thanks a lot! Actually it wasn't highlighted in the video, that you need to create AllowGameDVR value in the WSDAPI folder, instead of the newly created GameDVR folder, otherwise it won't work! Thanks once again!

Update windows and then uninstall gpu using DDU then install the driver from the oldest driver available to the latest.

Hey guys, just coming to say that what worked from me was:
Right-click on the folders under This PC on the left-pane and select Properties. Under This PC, you’ll find your Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc.
Click on the Location tab and click on the Restore Default button to set the original location of the folder. This should look like C:\Users\username\Folder.
It's a lame fix but it worked!

I got this cuz if was doing a wondows update at the same time i think and something radeon software needed was thus missing. I proceeded to uninstall the gpu drivers entirely and reinstall them but now radeon software is just stuck at " detecting hardware " no idea what to do at this point ( reinstalling windows is not an option for me )

i have found a simpler fix
1- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore\
2- change GameDVR_FSEBehaviorMode from 0 to 2
this will disable fullscreen optimization in windows 10 and will fix the issue.
