It's also in the trombones. Watching some close ups of guys playing the bass part, they use the valves a lot with as little slide movement as possible. As someone who plays both, it is crazy. This is where I would rather have a CC tuba and independent rotors on my bass. I can only imagine the horror of trying to play this on a F or G bass trombone with no attachments.
Thanks for putting this up. I know it takes some work to synchronize the part and the music. I'm going into my first rehearsal of the part this evening. I keep turning up the tempo on my metronome, then come back to the video and find it's even faster.
Your right Olivier. It was neither Pierre nor Dennis. It was Ted Griffith on bass trombone. The tempo was absurdly fast and the hall (church) provided most of the lower end response, not the playing, believe me! -Ellis Wean
Wow, Respighi must have been smoking some good stuff to decide to write that Tuba part like if it was a woodwind instrument.

@@lonnyyoung4285 You ain't gonna catch me in a million years trying to play this on my f attachment lmao 🤣
It’s tough but fun
@@lonnyyoung4285 F attachment who? On this piece this is only independent bass

Love Respighi!
I hope I get to play this one day, and I will be glad to use my C tuba, because those pedal E's are the worst notes on and Eb tuba!
OOOF I can only imagine bc i've never played Eb horn.
Wow....that went fast.
Spettacolare TUBA!!
I played it on Cimbasso...
Hell yeah
Perfect tempo
As always, Pierre Beaudry and Dennis Miller are rocking out the MSO.
And Dennis Miller only came to OSM in 1989 :)
