I really love your format of getting straight into the information that I need in an easily digestible manner. Thank you for making your channel, I appreciate your work so much! The Ordinary's products are so great but knowing which combos are good and which can be ineffective or potentially irritating can be a bit confusing sometimes. Sending love from Australia!
Hey :)
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback! This just made my day!🥰
Yes, knowing what the products can do for your skin and what can be a bit too much is important to know so that you'll have the best experience possible!
I miss Australia so much! I used to study there (before Covid!) and now I'm back in Europe but I want to continue my studies in Australia. So, please open your borders haha😂
Thank you. I've been using both of these but I wanted to make sure I was using them properly. You include so much info and it's so easy to understand
Glad it was helpful! :)
Love your videos! I appreciate the fact that you go and show how and when we can apply the products. Very informative.
Just want to say thank you for sharing! your explanations are clear and very easy to follow.
You're very welcome!
You are the best, THANKS MELISSA
THX soo much for doing the ordinary tutorials/gen. info. I'm learning so much and my skin is Awesome! Keep them coming plzz!!🙌😁😇#TheOrdinary/OilyComboSkin 💘.
Believe me girl u are doing us a bundle of favour 😊

I’m not going to lie. This is very new and confusing for me but I do appreciate you taking the time to educate us and answer so many questions in the comments. I’ve read most and all of my questions were answered there🥰🥰

This Video was very informing! Thank you so much 😊

Oh dear, I didn't realize Lactic Acid shouldn't be prolonged usage. I've been using it every night along with my 1% Retinol in Squalane for the past five weeks, there is a definite improvement in my skin. I'll have to make changes to my routine. Thanks so much for the information.
Hey Heather. It is just because a lot of people are using those products for years or even months and never do a proper break in between or analyse their skin while doing so. There is nothing wrong with using it for a few months daily. I just wanted to be careful and mention it because I got that question very often, or sometimes people even use it when they don't need it at all 😞
That's why I included it :)
Love your videos.. i. New to ordinary and u answer soo much of my questions
*runs to buy this* HAHAHA thank you so much Melissa!
Hope you like it!
Thank you for your knowledgeable tutorial... Excellent!
Happy to help :)
Hello I love your videos, just had a quick question. I was wondering if I can combine the Lactic acid, Niacinamide, and the Hyaluronic acid together? (And If I can add the rosehip oil, what would be the routine?) And In what order could I use them for for the Am and the pm?
How To Use The Ordinary Lactic Acid Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide:
ua-cam.com/video/a1Em03-ZBwQ/v-deo.html
And yes you can Rosehip Seed oil as a last step.
This tutorial is great! I’m a new avid user and following this routine. I just wanted to ask, does Sunscreen work as a moisture-riser, can it replace moisture-riser?
There are some moisturizing sunscreens. If not, it really depends on your skin. So not every skin type needs a moisturizer. If you have dry skin, you should do it, but it all depends on the sunscreen, from my experience. You need to find the right one! :) I like Nivea and La Roche Posay!
This was so helpful! Can I apply the hyaluronic acid first? Since its recommended to apply hyaluronic acid to damp skin so right after cleaner would make sense? Or does the acid definitely have to be first? Thanks :)
Hey :)
Glad you liked the video :)
Lactic Acid is an exfoliant that helps to increase the skin's hydration. It should also be applied after cleansing, and (optional) toning and then follow with serums and the rest of your routine :)

Hi!!!...your videos are highly helpful...I do have a question...how to use both aha and bha in a skincare routine...I'm a beginner for Chemical exfoliants...can I alternate between lactic acid and salicylic or can I combine them both and how often should I use them
How often you should exfoliate depends on your skin type and skin concerns. Some people do well exfoliating with AHA or BHA twice a day, whereas others find that once a day or every other day is a perfect balance. Test to see what works best for your skin.
It’s fine to use both types of exfoliants (AHA and BHA) as part of your skin care routine - you can use them at the same time, alternate days of usage, or use one in the morning and one at night, depending on your preference.
hey! i have been watching your videos so much because i just started using the ordinary products, but i am already seeing a huge difference in my skin. i’ve been using the aha and bha solution about once a week, as well as the hyaluronic acid daily but also wanted to incorporate the salicylic acid masque and lactic acid serum, but it says here you are not supposed to? could i just alternate days? i don’t know. but please let me know what you think would be best🤍
Hey :)
Well, what are your skin concerns? Do you feel the need of using the SA Mask?
You can use, for example, the Ordinary Peeling Solution on Monday and the SA Mask on Thursday, that' ok...
You can also use Lactic Acid 2-3 times per week between if your skin needs it!
Use them on alternate days! But it is really a matter of if you need it!
Hi, I have a question: if I use the lactic acid first and follow up with hyaluronic acid can the skin be dry? I heard you’re supposed to apply it on damp skin so it doesn’t dry you out 🤔 thanks for your videos!
Lactic Acid can help to increase the hydration within your skin when using it in the long run. No, you don't need to apply the Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid on damp skin...
See here: ua-cam.com/video/8cnHmj-9pl8/v-deo.html
Hey thank you so much for this video. Can I use both acids with black seed oil as I usually put that on my face
Hey :) Yes, that's fine!
Hello first of all I loved this video! One question when diluting lactic acid with my moisturizer would I apply the hyaluronic acid before my moisturizer?
Hey :) Thank you!
Yes, correct :)
Very informative video, thank you!! I have a quick question, can I use both hyaluronic acid and niacinamide + zinc after lactic acid?
Hey :)
Yes, that's fine! :)
hi !! thank youu for the very informative video :D !! i have a question, can i use a gentle 2% salicylic acid cleanser with the lactid acid ??
2% isn't that gentle when you use it ongoing. I recommend using a gentle cleanser with this combination. And the Salicylic Acid cleanser on alternate times. Ultimately you need to test it to see what works best for you.
Hi Melissa! What is the best acid to use when using tretinoin? I know they shouldn't be used in the same routine/day.. I do have dry, uneven skin tone and sometimes a pimple or two would show up.. Thank you!! ❤️
Hm... you could try Mandelic Acid or Lactic Acid, those are very gentle. Glycolic Acid is the 'strongest'. 😊
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial as always, thank you for being so helpful! Really appreciate it.. ❤️
Hye! I wanna ask you a question. What is your favourite cleanser? What cleanser you would recommend for acne prone skin? Thanks in advance!
I love the La Roche Posay Effaclar Micro-Peeling 2% Salicylic Acid Gel Cleanser, or the Skinceuticals LHA/ Blemish and Age Cleanser or if you are looking for one without acids... Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser, La Roche Posay Lipikar Shower Gel Cleanser, or (depending on your skin type) the Body Shop Tea Tree Cleanser, or Cleansers from Paula's Choice, love the one in the bright red bottle and blue (from the clear line) or the Ordinary Squalane Cleanser or the La Roche Posay Toleraine Dermo-Cleanser...
There are so many cleansers haha😂
Hi Melissa, thank you so much for very informative video. I have dry skin with pores and blackheads so I am thinking do have a different routine now.
Am: Cleanser
Lactic acid
Hyaluronic acid
Niacinamide
Moisturiser
Sunscreen
PM: double cleanse
Vitamin C suspension
Hyaluronic acid
Moisturiser
And salicylic acid once a week
Is this the correct routine to get rid of pore blackheads and dry skin? Do I need to add anything else?
Hello, well it includes everything you need, but I cannot tell you if this will work since it is very individual and I do not have those issues. But the products you have, target your concerns. But it may be beneficial to use the Salicylic Acid more often and not use the Lactic Acid or maybe just every other day or alternate. It's tricky since you have dry skin 🤔 , So you have to figure this out and adjust it based on your skin needs.
I put the products in the correct order for you.
Am:
Cleanser
Lactic Acid
Hyaluronic Acid
Niacinamide
Moisturiser
Sunscreen
PM:
Double cleanse
Salicylic Acid (once a week) Solution? If so, it's your second step!
Hyaluronic Acid
Moisturiser
Vitamin C suspension

Melissa! I found a great Toner and it is the Laneige Cream Skin Refiner i just ordered online and i saw some reviews about it and it is a toner-moisturizer thingy!
Hey :). Well I haven't tried it but let me know if you like it 😀
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Sure thing!
Excellent video . Loved it . I just bought lactic acid so I was wondering when to use it. Lucky I watched this video as I use buffet twice a day. I'll have to only use buffet once a day I guess
Yes, it is sensitive to pH. So therefore, you should not combine them.
Hi there! You mentioned that you shouldn’t use a toner with an acid when using the lactic acid. My daily toner is the cosrx aha bha toner which only has 0.1% of each acid. Since the concentration of the acids in the toner are low would it be ok to follow with the lactic acid or should I still not use them at the same time?
Yes, if you have a toner with a low %, it likely won't matter.😃
Hey Melissa, so I have a question, in the video it said we can use both hyaluronic acid and lactic acid in the same night routine, and apply it in order of your skin concern first. So if my concern was hydrating first, can i use hyaluronic acid first and then the lactic acid, moisturizer, etc? Thank you
Hey :)
Here are the general steps in a skincare routine:
- Cleanse
- Toner
- Exfoliant
- Serum(s)
- Oil
- Moisturiser
- SPF (AM)
And then it is also important to apply it from the thinnest to thickest texture...
- Water-based serums
- Anhydrous Solutions
- Oil Formulations
- Creams/Moisturiser
- Suspensions
- SPF
Also, Lactic Acid increases hydrations as well, so you are fine to start with Lactic Acid and then add Hyaluronic Acid on top :)
Hi, on this same note❤️I have a question..Do we apply lactic acid and hyaluronic acid on damp skin or just dry skin?
Thank you ☺️ never new wat I could pair it with can I use other TO products?

@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Thanks Friend your awesome 👍
Thank you for this and i love the way you say (area ) its cute 🥰
😊 thank you
I don’t know if I am buying the right products for my skin or if i am buying too much and they are not good together. I have a dry (little bit) skin and hormonal acne, I have pimples under the skin encysted irritated. I have them only on my cheeks sometimes on my nose and chin.
I already use the ordinary daily set and I love it! But it didn’t make my acne better, what products do you recommend? Thank u so much, I’m Italian sorry for my English
Hey😊
Well, I'm glad that you like the kit!
The Squalane Cleanser, Hyaluronic Acid and the Moisturiser add mainly hydration to the skin. Those products do not help with acne and aren't acne treatments.
To get your acne under control, you may want to look into acne treatments. Such as: Retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, Zinc or Tea Tree Oil.
Once you get an acne treatment, you'll be able to use it as a spot treatment, only where you have those pimples.
I use this creme myself: www.beavit.at/kosmetik/haut-koerper/feuchtigkeitspflege/6749/pelcure-creme
I found this website where you can get the creme as they also ship to Italy🙈.
Thanks for the video! Can i use these two with snail based essence and cream(cosrx) in my routine, would it be a problem to use them together?
I have never tried it but I guess that it would work. Just test it :)
Melissa Van Dijk thank you much for the answer♥️ also do you think i should keep acids in the fridge while not using?
@@phoebebuffay8573 No, those do not need to be stored in the fridge. The Ordinary Retinols/Retinoids are the only products that have to be stored in a fridge :)
Hello! I just wanna ask what can u reco for my AM skincare routine? I have these TO products:
- alpha arbutin
- hyaluronic acid
- niacinamide
- lactic acid
- NMF
As much as possible, i wanna keep it simple and quick. Thank you!!! 🤗
Hello again :) Here is the information you need to figure it out 😀
- alpha arbutin = water-based serum
- hyaluronic acid = water-based serum
- niacinamide = water-based serum
- lactic acid =water based serum, exfoliant (first after cleansing, if you do not have a soothing toner, but you do not have a toner..😉)
- NMF = cream
The general rule of thumb for the order of application is:
1. Water-based serums
2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations
3. Lotions & Creams & suspensions
Important:
If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first). And it’s recommended applying eye-serums (such as Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG) first after cleansing.
It’s recommended using no more than 3 serum formulations in a single routine for optimal skin penetration.
About 2-3 drops of each serum and 1 pea-sized amount of creams should be enough for the full face and neck.
Use a "patting" application method, as opposed to "rubbing."
Always apply sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun!!
Some products can have a foaming effect upon application depending on the other products you are using in your regimen. The foaming should not last longer than a few seconds and both should not remain sticky once absorbed into the skin. (Video: ua-cam.com/video/r04W7rQV1R0/v-deo.html)
"Pilling" (snakeskin, shedding) can occur due to too much product. Your skin can only absorb a certain amount of product, and any excess will be left on top of the skin so that when the next product is being applied, it rubs off. (Video: ua-cam.com/video/l_C7HtO826A/v-deo.html)
If you wish to incorporate multiple Vitamin C's, Retinoids, and/or Direct Acids into your skincare regimen, it's suggested using them on alternate evenings and waiting until your skin has adjusted to one before introducing another.
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% cannot be used alongside any pure or ethylated forms of Vitamin C.
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% can only be used alongside Vitamin C derivatives:
- Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%
- Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F
- Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%

Glad it was helpful! :)
if i’m using the pha toner by inkey list when should i apply my hyaluronic acid?before or after the toner?🙏🏻🙏🏻
The order of application goes like this:
Cleanser
Toner
Exfoliant
Serums (Water Based Serum, Anhydrous Solution & OIl Formulation)
Creams&Suspension
What's the routine with derma roller and ordinary products?and can i use silicon cream for old operation scars in my forehead after any ordinary product?thanks for your effort in explaining honestly
I have never used a derma roller myself, so I'm not sure how exactly you would use it and if it is a good idea to do so since I'm using Lactic Acid in this video 😊
I guess that you would wash your face and then use the derma roller and then add your serums/oil and/or moisturiser afterwards. But I'm not sure how this would play out when using exfoliating acids.
Hi, thank you for your videos, they are really helpful. I have mature skin and started recently using lactic acid 3x a week. I already see good results but my doubt is when to make a pause from using it and how long should the pause be... Thank you again ❤️
If you only use it 2-3 times a week, you likely can use it ongoing. The main reason why people need a pause is that they overuse it; consequently, they need to stop it because they may over-exfoliate the skin (so used it too much and got irritation). However, if you need a break, stop using it for a few days/week and start again. You really need to adjust it for your needs.
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial thank you for your advice!
Hi, can I use the Hyaluronic acid with the natural moisturising factors + HA then put on make up during the AM time or it’s not advisable? Thank you
Yes you can. But sometimes the Hyaluronic Acid causes issues.(pilling) So do not use too much.
Hi Melissa ! Can I go to the kitchen stove for cooking after applying lactic acid and hyaluronic acid?
yes
Hello! I have no real skin care issues other than a dry skin type. Everyone talks about using these acids etc but if I have no real concerns or texture, should I still be including one in my routine still? Or will a HA and Moisturizer be enough? I’m worried that not using these things will effect my skin in the future and I should be doing more at 26. Please help! ❤️❤️
You can use an AHA like Lactic Acid or Glycolic Acid, increasing the hydration within your skin. But it may be enough just to use a moisturizer that's suitable for dry skin. I can recommend moisturizers from La Roche Posay and Paula's Choice. The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing factors isn't that suitable for dry skin. However, if you like to experiment, you can use it along with an oil to make it suitable ;)
Thank you and keep doing what u r doing, its really helpful..💖
You're welcome 😊
Hi melissa ..im yet to buy hyaluronic acid ,i hope its good for a teen acne prone skin.
Also is azelaic good for treating the post acne scars?
Please advise if this routine is good:
AM - just almond oil to keep face moist
PM - cleanse , hyaluronic , niacinamide, retinol(twice a week) , azelaic acid suspension.
Should i apply a moisturizer after azelaic or can use azelaic itself as a moisturizer?
And im a lil concerned whether using many acid related products (hyaluronic/azelaic) may have side effects in the future. Can i use them regularly or few days in a week? Pls advise.
Hyaluronic Acid adds hydration to the skin and it is a sugar which should not be confused with other acids like salicylic or glycolic acids, which exfoliate away dead skin cells.
Your AM and PM routine look good! The order of application is correct too!
You can use a moisturiser in the PM after Niacinamide/Retinol but you don't have to and just move on to Azelaic acid. That's fine! If you want to use a moisturizer, use it before applying Azelaic Acid.
You can use your AM and PM routine daily except for your Retinol, introduce it slowly into your skin care routine :)

Melissa, a quick question. How many times can we use lactic acid in a week? Two, three, everyday? Thank you so much 🥰
This depends on your skin needs and skin tolerance.
If you are new to it, I recommend using it like 2-3 times per week for a while and see how your skin responds to it, if everything went well, you may be able to use it more often during the week :)
Okay, thank you so much😄 I will use it then 2-3 times a week. I asked because I don't want to over exfoliate my skin. Thank you again for your response. I love your content, really helpful 😘

Hi! I’m planning on using those two serums. Is it okay if I’ll use it every weekend only? Like every Saturday and Sunday in my night time routine.
Hey :)
Yes, that's fine.
I want to mention that Hyaluronic Acid is a sugar and not an exfoliant like Lactic Acid. So, you can use Hyaluronic Acid daily in the AM and/or PM.
As for Lactic Acid, how often you can exfoliate your skin depends on your skin concerns and needs. Some people can exfoliate daily, whereas others prefer to use it every other day! See what works best for you! :)

After use toner ,If I use latic acid and after can I apply advanced snail cosrx cream ? Cuz I'm afraid that it can effect for my face
I haven't done much research on this particular cream. So the advice that I can give you is doing a proper patch test and if no irritation occurs apply it on your face. I highly doubt it, but you never know :)
Hi
I'm a first time user. Could you please confirm if this is the correct order for use of my products
1) cleanser (apply onto dry skin then dampen with water and wash off)
2) lactic acid (if I dilute with moisturiser do I apply moisturiser again at the end?)
3) hyaluronic acid ( do I just apply to skin or dampen skin)
4) b oil
5) moisturizer
Hey :)
The order of application is correct! :)
If you want to dilute Lactic Acid with your moisturiser, then mix both products at the end of the routine.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid can be applied on dry or damp skin, and it won't change the efficacy of the product :)

Could you please tell me is it okay to mix the ordinary marine hyaluronic acid with lactic acid 10% (to dilute the strong effect as I don’t have 5% lactic acid) followed by moisturiser?
Hello, I'm doing well, thank you. And to answer your question, yes, you can dilute it with lactic acid.
hi!! for hylaronic acid u have to apply it on damp skin so how would i do that if i use the lactic acid first?
No, after cleansing, just pat the skin dry with a towel (btw, your skin will remain damp inside), apply Lactic Acid and then Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid can actually absorb better into the skin when using Lactic Acid first (to remove the dead skin cells on the skin surface).
Also, see here:

Yes, you can if your skin can tolerate it.
You may want to alternate between Lactic Acid and the Vitamin C suspension, especially in the beginning so that you can see how both products will work and feel on your skin before using them in the same routine. Also, please keep in mind that it is very individual on how often you use Lactic Acid during the week. Some people prefer to use it 2-3 times per week whereas others like to use it daily. Hey melissa I have a question Rn I’m using cethapil, lactic acid 10%, niacinamide, and cerave moisturizer in my routine and now almost all my ance has cleared up but I still have scars. What should I add to my routine to get rid of them?
I’m abt to add hyaluronic acid to my routine too

Apart from the ordinary brand? What other moisturizers would be good with lactic acid?
Well, I can only talk from my experience, and I can recommend La Roche Posay Toleriane Line. Ultra Fluid or Ultra Creme.
Apart from that Paula's Choice moisturizers, they have so many, and I like all of them. Still, my favourites are from La Roche Posay :)
Hey😊kann i use mornings lactik acid and niacinamide and hyaluronic evenings?
Since Lactic Acid can make your skin a bit more sensitive to the sun, it is recommended using it in the evening and follow it with an SPF during the day. However, you can use it in the morning but when being exposed to the sun, don't forget to protect your skin :)
Hi melissa, just to make sure if the ingredients of moisturiser have plant stem cells, tripeptide & any peptide we cannot use this Lactic Acid ?
The best you can do is to ask the brand if they can be used with exfoliating acids, as there are many peptides. But from my understanding, most of them are not an issue!
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficialallright 👍 thank you melissa 😘
Hi
Can i use hyaluronic acid then nicinamide acid and then lactic acid ??

Well technically yes. But it may be best to start with the acid first. Have you watched my beginners guide 🤔?

Hey i just wanted to ask once u start purging due to lactic should i continue using it on my purging skin or take a break and if i am to take a break then for how long.
I am not entirely sure about this. I only can tell you from my experience that it works best when taking a break for a few days to a week. Giving the skin enough time to regenerate, and after that, I usually use the product every other day until it gets better 🙂 , but I don't know what's best.
Thank u so much, and loving your content 🌺
Hi can i use lactic acid 5% + HA ,alpha arbutin+ HA And Hyaluronic acid?
first step - hydrating cleanser cerave
second step -toner soothing
third step - lactic acid
fourth step - alpha arbutin
fifth- hyaluronic acid
six - moisturizer lotion cerave
yes, that's correct :) You can use it that way.
Hi Melissa, I had lots of breakouts and i got aha bha and niacinamide after using it a month and i still have so many breakouts! im really so sad! :'( Could you say what's happening with my skin or should i add more ingredient
You do not have any products that can help you with your breakouts. I mean technically the peeling solution may help you a bit and the Niacinamide may help with inflammation. But you need to use Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide to fight the bacteria. Or use a prescription retinoid. To get those products, it's best to have a look at your local pharmacy or maybe Paula's Choice, but it can be costly.
Thanks for letting me know Melissa, i've decided to go on with paula's choice bha toner or does any other brands does the job and another question please let me kno if i could use lactic acid and salicylic acid toner together since i also have so many acne marks and does Niacinamide cause breakouts or purging
@@priivlogss Ok, when using the Paula's Choice BHA, you need to be patients to see some results...Benzoyl Peroxide works faster then BHA but it can help to reduce breakouts!
You can try it with Niacinamide or have a look at the Paula's Choice Azelaic Acid. Using BHA and Niacinamide and/or Azelaic Acid together, can be very effective.
I do not recommend using Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid in the same routine, but you may be able to use them on alternate days or just stick with Salicylic Acid.
Please note that with any active ingredient that affects skin behaviour, there can be an initial purging period during which breakouts are normal. Gradually incorporating one new product into your regimen at a time and applying test patches first to see what works best for your skin.
It helped me a lot , thanks for the patience :)
Can I clean my face with my Rose water and glycerin toner before applying this two
What exactly do you mean by "clean your face"? You should use a cleanser to cleanse your face, then you could follow up with a rose water toner or glycerin toner. After that, you could apply lactic acid and hyaluronic acid if needed.
If I mix the lactic acid with a moisturizer do I still put it on before the hyaluronic acid or would hyaluronic acid go on first?
Use at first your HA serum and then apply your Lactic Acid mixed with Moisturizer afterwards :)
Hi!! I’m just wondering if I could use Aloe vera gel with the lactic acid as a PM routine?
Yes, apply lactic acid first.
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial After applying and leaving both for approx. 2-3 hours. My face started getting dry and I found out aloe vera gel is only meant to be used for 10 minutes as it can dry skin. So I thought of using aloe first and after rinsing applying the lactic acid. Btw, can I leave the lactic acid overnight? One last thing 😅, how often can I use both lactic and aloe vera
@@hikazayanikushi9086 No, that's not the issue; I assume that you apply too much product. So it sits on top, and that makes your skin dry. However, you can use it as a mask, apply a fair amount, leave it on for 10minutes and rinse it off :)
See here:
How To Apply Aloe Vera Gel On Face:
ua-cam.com/video/pnpprmn3UFA/v-deo.html
I haven't done one on how to apply it as a mask, but it will follow :)
You can leave the products on overnight and rinse them off the next day, and you can use them daily if needed :)
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial You are spot on! it felt like I was applying too little so I added more and that’s what probably caused it. I just tried it again, this time with pea sized amount like in the video and it isn’t dry anymore. Thanks a lot!! really appreciate it
happy to help; otherwise if you still come across issues, you can try another formulation that may work better 🙂

I am using AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution once a week (monday morning) Do you think that i can keep AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution in my routine only on monday and then use Lactic Acid 10% + HA e.g. Wednesday and Friday ?
Hey :)
Yes, that's fine!
How often you can exfoliate your skin with Lactic Acid depends on your skin concerns and tolerance. Some people can exfoliate daily whereas others prefer to use it less often. See what works best for you!
I do not recommend using Lactic Acid and the Peeling Solution on the same day. Keep on using the Peeling Solution once per week and Lactic Acid on other days.
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Thank you so much! I order it so im excited to try! I am new to your channel and it is truly amazing and educational so thank you for that. Will watch more during the weekend :)
so it's okay if i'm using l-asorbic acid powder after lactic acid?
It depends on your skin, but they do not conflict. It may be too much for sensitive skin, so test it :)
Can we use aloe vera gel for toning and follow the same layering??
Yes :)
Ur the best

Hey dear , Which serum would work for me for glowing skin ? I have normal skin type, dull skin, freckles over my cheeks
You can achieve glowing skin by regularly cleansing your face, exfoliating it, and using hydrating products such as Hyaluronic Acid serums or snail mucin, for example.
Hi,
could you recommend a toner to use while using lactic acid. Paulas choice is a bit out of my price range. Could you recommend a drug store one perhaps :))
Hm, not really. 😞They aren't really expensive since you can come with them for 3-6months if you are using it in the morning and evening.
I haven't tried many other brands, only Paula's Choice and Pixi. So I may be the wrong person to ask that question. I recommend looking for reviews or other UA-camr to see what they recommend. Or just buy the one that you suit the most :)

Hi Melissa...the HA you have used in video is the pure HA or the one with alpha arbutin 2%?
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 🙃
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial thank you so much 💓 💖 💗
First, you have helped me with sooo much!!!! So thanku!I have used true serum form the ordinary for a while now. I use:
Am:
Cleanse
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Pm:
Cleanse
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%
Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
I have chosen to use the niacinamide first to priority my pores. But it feels wrong to use it before the lactic acid since it is so much more thicker. What would you recommend, in wich order should? I want to focus on getting rid of my pimples and minimise my pores. Should I start using something else or just change the order?
And againg, thank you so much for your honesty and gooooooood help
Yes, that's technical. Practically it does not work how they tell you this. I tried many different ways and I always come back to the way Paula's Choice is recommending it. Which is.
Cleanser
(Optional) Toner
Exfoliant
Serums
(Optional) Moisturizer
(SPF) Morning
So your order would be:
Am:
Cleanse
Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Pm:
Cleanse
Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% (Exfoliant)
Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Works much better :)
