Very interesting, thank you! However, two points that you did not cover are how fast they begin to smell/stink, being synthetic, and how about the fit for for that are less slim as you are 😊
I bought several sun shirts after a hike to Devil's Bridge outside of Sedona back in July 2022. I was doubtful about the usefulness of a hoodie until I used the hood while sitting in the sun at an overlook point watching Old Faithful last June. I have a sun hoodie from UA, similar to their current Fish Pro Hoodie, which I bought about two years ago. It has the ventilation material (mesh panels) on the back, sides, and along the undersides of the arms. It is so good that I am looking at getting another one, this time in a lighter color. I also have a sun hoodie from Huk that is also just as good (with ventilation material). I am still on the fence about thumb holes and even more so on gaiters to cover the lower part of one's face. I wonder if the latter reduces ventilation around the neck. Thus, I am looking for comments from people who have hoodies with gaiters, especially if the hoodie is going to be worn when in areas that do not have lots of bugs or blowing sand, as an example.
Yeah the gaiter totally depends! If like you mentioned you're in a buggy or sandy area I think they're worth it, but it does decrease the ventilation around your neck for sure. Just comes down to where you are and how you want to use it. Thumb holes though, I think those are a must, it's just nice to get the extra coverage on top of your hands
@@sonsofsever Thank you for the perspective. I will pass on the gaiter and simply pack my shemagh should the conditions warrant a covering for the mouth and nose.
im digging all the comparison type stuff. I would consult you guys before making any large investment on outdoor stuff. Kind of like how I use the "project farm" channel for anything tool or auto related.
We're glad to hear that! If you're ever looking at specific gear let us know, we might be able to get our hands on it and test it out before you make the plunge
Mustang Survival - Apollo? Or Adelphi? I don’t see an Apollo model on their site, however, they do show one called Adelphi. Which one are you guys reviewing?
@@ppalom2245 looking at the site all I see is the Adelphi, it looks exactly like the one we have. Whether they changed the name or we got it wrong I couldn't tell ya, this video is pretty old for us now
Personally k don’t want to wear a longs sleeve hoodie but I’ve had several reactions to the sun,sun poisoning, burn easily and now that I’m getting thinner on top now my head burns easily too. I may try one this year just to see how it does and how hot they are.

Thx. I have a call into them.

If you get the right one they really aren’t hot at all
I swear by FreeFly Apparel. I love their sun hoodies.
You are missing KETL Moutain, very light and breathable, and not that expensive.
Not missing them haha they’re just small and a hard brand to work with
Its all about thumbhole construction
Honestly it kinda is 🤣
Honestly never cared for em
Damn every hoodie you used ive never heard of besides the REI. You shouldve tested all the most popular brands but ill continue to watch.
Which brands would you wanna see?
Columbia would be a good example
@@sonsofseverArc’teryx, MHW, Black Diamond, Fjallraven
@@alexbearish9123 big brands are tougher to get stuff from, but we'll see what we can do!
