Dear Gabriella, thank you so much for sharing yourself with us. You are full of grace and strength, and inspire so many of us, but I would like to highlight your thoughtfulness and care, when you engage with us so fully from who you are. Thank you. ❤
I, too, am mourning summer. I think it's because I'm a mama. I feel like once I graduated I really started to love Autumn, but when I started having kids, summer just held the opportunity for so many memories. I live in Texas however, so I feel like I can continue knitting all the summer knits ;) I am loving blankets however, I started knitting up Vertices Unite Baby blankets for all of my kids after knitting one for my newest baby born in July. It's been sooooo much fun because the construction is very potato chippy and my children all picked out their colors so it's fun to see how the design looks in different colorways. I have 2 scrappy blanket projects currently going, a DK weight Jelly Roll blanket and a Lullaby blanket by Tin Can Knits that is knit in my Pineapple Yarn mystery club minis. I call it my Lisa Frank blanket because it''s just a rainbow explosion that makes me so happy. I really want to knit a log cabin blanket for my home next as well, log cabin knitting just looks super cozy and fun.
I think you've hit the nail on the head~ the bittersweet reality of motherhood!! I always feel like I am clinging onto every moment and phase. You're soo lucky to live in Texas and enjoy all of the dreamy summer knits! ✨ And all of your blanket projects are sooo dreamy! I love the idea of Vertices Unite Baby blankets with colors chosen my your kids!! I feel like that would be the truly perfect recipe for fun blanket knits, and so special for them to keep forever. I have major Lisa Frank nostalgia and so I am swooning over your 'Lisa Frank blanket' 🥰
Knitting up the Beekeeper's Quilt with scrap yarn sounds like a fun ongoing project! I think it could especially become a blanket full of all sorts of memories of past projects, like something that tracks finished (or unfinished) pieces over the years-I'm knitting a blanket for my niece right now, but whatever yarn is left over from hers might be the start of a quilt like that for me :)
I love that idea!! Those sorts of projects hold such special memories. ✨ What a wonderful gift to give to your niece, I can just imagine how much it will mean to her 🥰
Hi Gabriella! I also love the beekeeper’s quilt! Although I’m sure I’ll never finish mine, but making the little hexipuffs is the best fun. ❤ Another scrappy blanket I like working on is the granny stripe blanket. It’s nice to switch to crochet in the winter months and it’s really cozy to drape on your lap while adding stripes.
Oh yes, what a dream that you have a lovely stash of hexipuffs!! It truly does seem like such a wonderful knit~ I think I'll just have to join you and cast one on someday (hopefully soon) ✨ Granny stripe blankets always have such a charm to them, I'm a very novice crocheter but I love the idea of switching every once and a while. what a brilliant idea 🥰
I feel the same about letting go of summer. I love fall but I can’t help but think of the cold weather that follows. 😃 I love winter too, it’s just a bit loooooongg here in Wisconsin. ☃️
Yes!! I sooo agree. And oh I remember those midwestern winters~ simultaneously the ultimate coziness and they do just drag onnnnn. 😃 At least there are plenty of days for wearing knitted objects 😉 I hope you have a wonderful weekend and are enjoying lots of making! 🥰✨
I've tested the Bifurca vest and I'd recommend you to just knit it with a fingering weight yarn (or sport), not a DK weight, the gauge is quite tight. I would also make sure to size down if you're inbetween sizes, simply because there is no fabric in the back of the neck (it's a V neck on both sides), and the shoulders of the vest can fall off your shoulders if it's too large. happy knitting ^^
Oh no!! I've already cast on and sooo wish I had read your comment earlier... but oh well, this time I'll go through with it. Thankfully I did manage to get gauge with my double knit. Maybe it will be an excuse to knit a second vest with single fingering yarn at some point though ;) What a treat it must have been to test knit such a unique and beautiful pattern.
Hi Gabriella. I made a prayer shawl for my boss. She absolutely loves it and appreciate the hand made gift. So I bet your family would absolutely enjoy any knitted gift. Happy knitting
I can imagine she was so touched to receive such a meaningful gift, Kelly! I remember you sharing about making it and was so inspired by your generous spirit. It really is a blessing to be able to knit for others and I want to do more of it. Wishing you a wonderful week full of joyful knitting! Your comments always brighten my week, thank you so much for being so lovely!
Hi Gabriella. I am super excited I am understanding sock knitting on dpn. I am on body part now. I am taking my time and seeing progress. Thank you for all your sock videos so inspiring
What a wonderful autumn knitting plan🍂 Thank you for sharing, Gabriella🧡 So inspiring, as always! I have a mitered square blanket on the needles. I use a tutorial by Ina.knits as my inspiration. I really want to knit more scrappy blankets in the future. And I think it's something nice and comforting about them taking a long time to knit🥰
Thank you so much dear Anne!! I soo agree with you on the comfort of scrappy blankets. They carry so many memories, and they are always such low pressure, pure enjoyment projects. 🥰 I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and enjoying every stitch of knitting!! ✨
Dear Gabriella, I‘m sorry to hear that you are not longing for fall. I definitely do😊 now the cosy knitting times will come back, the crisp air, the beautiful colorful leaves, drinking tea, delicious seasonal food, not sweating all day long anymore… I could go on with this topic forever… I hope it helped you a bit to not miss summer too much and also looking a bit forward 😉 🍁 🍄 🦔 🎃 🧶 I totally agree with what you said about mittens. I am not much of a sock person, but a nice pair of mittens I can always make 😊 right now I don’t have time though. While working on my two sewaters, I really want to cast on a blanket as well (something like the Sweet Shop blanket by Laura Penrose), a vest (I already have the yarn, just need to find the pattern) and your shawl is definitely also high up in my queue 😃 but I will also participate in the Westknits MKAL this year for the first time 🙈 I am so happy when autumn is here and there will be more time for knitting 😂
I must say, I read your joyful words shortly after you commented and your excitement for autumn was absolutely contagious~ thank you endlessly!! 🥰✨ I am so with you, the season is lovely, and I have finally fully embraced it. I think two sweaters and all of your knitting cast on dreams are more than enough to occupy your time~ it's always better to have too much inspiration than too little, so I think you are on the right track 😉 All the more reason to rejoice in the autumn and all the extra knitting weather, as you said!! 🥰
@@MerryweatherKnitting I am so happy to hear that dear Gabriella, especially since it made me almost a little bit sad when you were not looking forward to autumn 🤗 I don‘t think that I could ever not have enough projects in mind I would like to cast on. There are just too many gorgeous patterns out there 😃🥰 looking forward to see what you have on the needles, and continuing to wait for autumn 😉 my best wishes to you, Astrid
I testknit the Bifurca vest and it’s so pretty! The construction is FUN, i’ve never done anything like it. The colourwork is stranded. I hope you make it, can’t wait to see it ✨💫 I’m knitting the Ten Stitch Blanket in Nutiden scraps, I started it two years ago i think. It’s a lovley pattern.
Oooh what a treat it must have been to test knit!! I cast the vest on and am just loving it so far. 🥰 The Ten Stitch Blanket in Nutiden scraps sounds like an absolute dream ✨ I've never knit with Nutiden but it seems like such a delightful yarn, and I can imagine the project will be so special once finished.
Hi Gabriella! I love your choices of fall patterns especially the lace blouse … your taste is very similar to mine ! I am going now to dig in my lace yarn lol Have a great fall !
Hi Gabriella! I’m absolutely being the opposite of you this season. I want to wear all my sweaters and eat all the soup and welcome autumn with open arms. Right now I’m knitting the Benevolent mitts. They are absolutely charming. I knit the fox mitts first and now Im working on my second owl mitt. It comes as no surprise to me that you love Tiny Owl Knits. Do you have her pattern book? Her designs are so whimsical and charming.
Oh how adorable!!! I can imagine such a charming knit makes for the most fun knitting time. I so understand what you mean, it actually is a magical time of year! Slowly it is growing on me ;) I don't have her pattern book, though it has been on my Wishlist for ages I just have a few of her single patterns. Everything about her is so lovely and her designs are such an inspiration!! I hope you are savouring these days, Beate, and that every stitch is a joy for you as we sail into autumn!
I picked my next knit today. It’s a shirt I could prob wear in spring and summer. I’m such a slow knitter so I gotta prepare for the spring summer season lol. I loved the second pattern you shared.
Thank you!! 🥰 What a joy to settle on a new pattern and set of knitting it (I definitely relate in needing to get an early start on projects~ especially garment!). I hope you are enjoying every stitch!! ✨
I thought of you straightaway the first time I saw the Bifurca vest! I just knew it would be the most stunning knit for you. I am planning on making one, also. I have so thoroughly enjoyed all of your recent podcasts, though I haven't had a chance to tell you so. Thank you for all your lovely work and endless inspiration as always! 💜
Ashely, thank you so so much~ the feeling is oh so mutual. And I can not wait to see your Bifurca vest!!! You forever amaze me with your gorgeous knits (and colorway choices!!). I'll be thinking of you as I knit mine up too 🥰✨
The bifurca vest is also on my "to knit" list for this year so it will be cool seeing how it comes together for you! I like the point you made about creating knitwear that truly works for you. I have found that vests are the best thing for my wardrobe since I live in TX.
Ooh yes I can imagine vests are wonderful in TX vs an abundance of sweaters. It's such a process to figure out what one really wears! I am so excited that you have the bifurca vest on your to knit list~ please do share how you find the process! I just recently cast on and am just loving it. 🥰 Wishing you a wonderful weekend ✨
I feel the same way about fall approaching, but I'm trying to embrace it as best as I can! Such an inspiring video - I'm excited to journey through fall with you and your makes!
Look up podcaster Erin B. She crocheted a bolero type item with wide sleeves. By looking at it you could probably figure out how to knit yours. It was 6 mos ago.

First time watching your videos and it was so calming and inspiring. Can’t wait to watch more. Quick question, could I ask the color of your lipstick?
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words!! 🥰 My lipstick is Mac Lipstick in the shade "Marrakech" . An absolute favourite of mine ;)
