      People need to start realising while Blitz/Rapid is fun to play, Classical is king because of its theoretical significance.

      @OneRichMofo 3 роки тому +5

      @@stanleytime9193 are you devoid of the ability to grasp blatantly obvious things or are you just playing dumb?
      Classical chess IS boring to watch. Always has been. Always will be.
      The only reason you are defending it is because you get a very convenient 20 minute video a couple of times a day from this lovely channel that shows off cool and thought provoking moves. You wouldn't sit through hours of two players thinking. If you do, you either don't have a job/spouse/social life/a general purpose in life or all of the above.
      That is why chess is so underfunded. Because the viewer isn't attracted to sitting through the hours of thinking. This is basic economics and should be fairly obvious.

    Is it just me or has Agad started talking faster the last month or so?

      I don't know about faster, but Agad's voice definitely seems slightly higher pitched these days. I was just watching some older videos of his from a few years ago, and the difference was immediately apparent. I think the change probably happened when he had his heart operation, in fact I have a vague memory of him saying he might sound different after the operation. It's certainly possible that he got faster, too, but I haven't personally noticed it.

      @@ddkapps I doubt his heart operation has anything to do with it. I think it's all psychological as he seems way more cheerful and enthusiastic than years prior when appearing behind the camera.

      @@enrique8190 I agree. I think it’s also that he’s covering so many games now(and dealing with a bigger audience) that there’s lesser of the “So let’s see where this goes/You’ll see”. It’s like a phone with screen animations turned down lol. Just feels faster xD

    At 21:22 is pawn to g5 not a better move potentially ? White goes into it with a king and pawn up,point being it practically forces a queen trade/makes it more favourable to white surely ? I'm probably missing something though 🥺😅

    Can someone explain why Magnus didn’t bring black sq bishop to h6 instead of castling?

    • @michaelclarkj
      @michaelclarkj 3 роки тому +1

      I am not a good chess player, but analyzing this position with the free engine on chess24 suggests that were white to threaten mate thusly, black drops the knight back to protect and then white will want to retreat his bishop of face his queen being attacked, driving the queen off the skewer, and losing the bishop. If white did drop the bishop back, white could just bring his knight back (repetition), so no advantage was gained.

    • @tomatoisnotafruit5670
      @tomatoisnotafruit5670 3 роки тому +1

      because black would just move Ne8, defending the g7 threat and White has to move Bishop back as it's just exposed and unprotected there (if you don't move it, black will attack White's queen with it's own black bishop forcing the queen to fall back and then the White Bishop is dead and white is just losing)
      so it doesn't really accomplish anything other than a wasted move that gives up the tempo to black.

    At 5:19, why wouldn't Magnus put his dark square bishop on h6? Threatening checkmate. If knight guards the pawn, then Magnus captures with the light square bishop. If pawn moves forward than Magnus can capture the rook
