As a Pixel Fold owner, I'll keep my visor and phone that doesn't fold flat, even if saddled with aging tech and not quite first rate camera, if I can keep the aspect ratio! Sure I rotate the device when reading because it's just better to have a taller device when doing so, but having that option even be marginally meaningful is part of what makes the aspect ratio so good! I still use the device vertically for stuff like Instagram, Tik-Tok, and UA-cam Shorts, even though they fixed Instagram in the horizontal orientation!
My main device is still the pixel fold but it's definitely smart for them to wait it out and put the tensor G4 even though the G5 by TSMC is the one that we're all waiting for. But if they really want to compete with the OnePlus and Samson, they need to add video out via usbc. They need to add stylus support and the SOC needs to compete and they need to get rid of the big inner bezel.
2:26 I love the Pixel 9 camera bump redesign rendition in this review. 2:56 Pixel fold 2 should emulate the same Pixel 9 camera design concept (in leak rendition) because it is splendid.
Man, I love my pixel fold. All the complaints I've heard about the phone are just not true. I like the visor camera bar. I would be really bummed to lose it. and I like the passport shape. More power is nice, but using the fold, you'd never know it is underpowered.
that is because you are a real user of the Pixel Fold. Everyone else just goes by these snobby tech reviewers who think that they are better than you. I think tech reviewers nowadays really lost all perspective on what the average consumer needs or requires.
I like it too, but I just feel like it's too HEAVY, especially with a case on. I was hoping that they could make it lighter for the Fold 2, but it seems like they are changing it to a taller, narrower profile like the OnePlus Open. I decided to get a Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and I'm using a Honor Magic V2 as my backup. I am looking forward to seeing if the Samsung Fold 6 is different at all and to see the Pixel Fold 2. And yes I do LOVE foldables & don't see myself going back to a regular phone. 📱📱❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Also, a stylus support is a must. I don't care about it being in the case like Note as I can buy more of those for office, home but the fact that display responds to stylus and has quality apps (need not be free) to use it will be huge for me
I love my Pixel Fold it won the blind MKHD camera test it's the best carmeras on a foldable plus the other software experience is awesome way smoother. Mine does fold flat had since launch no issues playing Real racing 3 all day and watching UA-cam is very nice with all day battery. Love Android 14 beta QR3 they keep adding more.
Two apps open at once / reading comments while you watch --- you aren't losing anything, it is still super wide... and hey, old 4:3 tv content fills the screen if you want!
@@AgentZeroNine1 I watch a lot UA-cam, yeah......2 apps at the same time, I don't really need, and I don't need a bigger X or Instagram.....but that's why I m not sold....not good for my needs.
Why not ask Microsoft? Remember the Surface Duo? The one with 2 separate screens? Not that it matters, but we’re still waiting on the Surface Duo III……
@@robertdragoff6909It was a real Microsoft abandoned it because I really liked that form factor. The Pixel Fold is the closest I will get to that and now Google is going to ditch that too.
They should make the front the size of the Pixel 8 Pro and finally redid the size of the old ugly bezels. They should also adapt 65w fast charging, 5x optical zoom, bring lossless audio through bluetooth, give it 16gb of ram, switch to MVNE storage, add lidar with laser autofocus, bring back ir blaster, ip68, snap open mechanism, make it as thin as the Magic V2, and keep it $100 less than Samsung's Fold with amazing trade-in deals for new adapters.
Good video Jaime. But I will never buy a google fold ever again. They don't last a year. Not even 6 months. And their Customer service and warranty is a joke. Never again.
to be honest I’ll recommend throwing new cameras & new features plus smaller bezels bigger battery AI Features Tensor G4 Chip New Colors Slightly Bigger 6.1 inch Display Instead of 5.8 and New Accessories introduce Titanium? Faster and more efficient Face ID & Finger Print Reader Some Pixel 8 Pro Features Launched with Android 14 or 15 Depending On What’s The Newest Operating System Charging Slightly Less Maybe 1499 - 1699? My opinions would make a totally better phone
Disagree, the front screen was very important to the design of future foldables , One Plus learned and took it to the next level and finally Samsung may change its design. I love the form factor of the Fold
Jaime I’m not buying the s24 ultra until you compare it with the iPhone 15 pro max. No youtuber can convince me to keep my iPhone or switch to the s24 ultra
tsmc and Samsung foundry don't wont to make Tensor chips for Google since it is limited supplies and they don't make any money. Samsung is thr only choice for google on their next chip because they are just doing google a favor. at least 3nm will be built in new technology GAA gate all around by Samsung. TSMC will apply this tech with their 2nm. This is the reason why A17 performed sluggish despite 3nm
Like any phone theres a few things I'd change w my pixel fold. We'll see how they decide to go bt smaller inside bezels and more to the size of the one plus open is good I guess. I'm definitely in for the fold 2 or if the z fold 6 ultra is a real thing and depending how the specs turn out on it are the 2 ima choose from
I hate the shape of the galaxy folds, i hate the shape of the pixel fold. Oneplus and Huawei have by far the best foldables on the market. I hate my fold 4, and i refuse to buy another samsung phone. Im still bummed i ever sold my note 20 for this horrible design.
Nope little girlie....you re not first and if you had been then you wouldn't count cause you got nothing to say...Just a Little Baby playing a stupid game for attention
I REALLY like the current format and can't believe they are changing it. It literally was a good replacement for the Surface Duo. All of the reviewers liked the landscape and shorter design. It is in my opinion the best feature of the phone. Please Google, don't change this!
will be interesting to see what they manufacturwrs do in two years when phones need to have removabke batteries 🙂. it's really hard to do it on a foldable
I have doubts about the G4 chip in the Pixel Fold 2. However it would be a great power move! Both for the Google & geopolitically, since Google was in talks with TSMC on chip production which is PROBABLY going to be manufactured in Taiwan. 😁 Then they focus more on A.I. features when the 9 series comes out. OR (Personal Speculation) If they give us the G4 now, by the fall we get G4 + return of Soli with major advancements! 🤞😤🤞
Sounds like another immediate best foldable. Jumping past the G3 is an excellent idea. Tensors are fine I never had any complaints on my 7p, I have a OP12 now that's vastly more powerful and I don't notice any difference day to day. Honestly the Pixel ui was actually maybe just a tiny shred snappier if not at least just as snappy. But when you needed to something really heavy you could actually tell it was a bit behind. If they were saving us tons of $ with that maybe it would be ok but they're not that cheap. Cheaper, but not cheap.

Reviewers ruin so many good phones.
I'm really mad that I've switched my pixel fold for the pixel 8 pro

I’m not sure what it is, but I have been subscribed on my personal channel and this channel, yet I rarely see your videos in either feed anymore.
Love the Fold beside the camera compared to the 8 pro. I am very sensitive on the Cam!

Love the fold but i wish we had more options for cases.
I love the form factor of the Pixel Fold. I’d be happy with Flagship Cameras and smaller inner bezels.

Google needs to use a MediaTek architecture base since they are the only real competitor.
what's the point to have a square when opened ? we lose half of a you tube video if we wanna go full screen. 🤔
I mean, i highly doubt the owner of youtube wont think about how video shows up on the square display.

Is Pocketnow daily still going, or is it no more ?
Im not buying a foldable untill they just make it two solid screens. Something that is ACTUALLY waterproof, dustproof and scratch proof...
How could two solid screens fold? You are missing out.

I would like for Google to make a smaller tablet. Based on the price of the Fold and its repair cost, I'd rather get a pixel and tablet.
Will it support a pen?

don't use exynos plz. my pixel 8 pro always stutters while playing CSR2
I haven't seen ONE instance where the SD 8 gen3 SMOKES samsungs offerings. Yes, it's a better chip, have youtubers actually used it properly?

This. I want it to also have video boost and every pro features Pixel 8 Pro because you're paying $1.8k on a phone. Not two 7a glued together.

We can only hope that the tensor G4 can compete with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 from qualcomm
The best part of the first pixel fold was the form factor for the outside screen. Which is what i was hoping to happen again for pt 2.
Just wait until 2025 when Google will go to Snapdragon.
Watching from my Fold 5. I love it.
Watching on my one plus open I will get pixel fold 2 if it look like the render
