    Drop the price, put the flag ship camera set up and use the Snap Dragon chips for god sakes. Do that and maybe they might have a reasonable fold.

      They put a lot of money into creating their own in house chip, they will never use snapdragon again. Similar to what apple did with intel and their own in house chip M series.

      I see why people say that though - sure, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Dimensity 9300, the A17 Pro and the Exynos 2400 all outpace the Tensor G3, but the G3 is definitely not mid-tier (although great at €1k, it's not that good when the phone is the better half of €2k). Besides, even midrange phones have become powerful enough for 95% of users, and although companies will start to push console gaming - Apple already has - there's still a long way to go before that becomes mainstream - the iPhone plays games at native 360p and uses MetalFX Upscaling to upscale it to 720p, but the quality looks pretty soft. Still, it shows potential.

    I am actually considering getting the Pixel Fold 2. It would depend on the design and if they are going to put same Tensor chip as the upcoming Pixel 9/9 Pro.

    I said this on a few of your previous Pixel Fold videos, but my working theory is basically what you said about Google: it's a cash grab. Google knows that releasing their first Fold is risky and there wouldn't be many buyers, so rather than go all in on the Tensor G3, they decided to save money and use the Tensor G2 chips. In addition, they want to make as much money as possible on the few units they do manage to sell, hence the high price tag. Pixel Fold 1 was just a trial run to test the waters of the foldable market. Pixel Fold 2 is gonna be the real flagship foldable.

      @@diagnostician001 probably also true. Best case scenario is they keep the same price as the first Pixel Fold, but this time, the device actually has the hardware and battery life to make it more worth it. It still probably won't actually be worth it, but more worth it than last year 😆

      @KHuyPh I've never had or used any pixel phone, so my experience with them is zero. I use the galaxy fold 5. I like to peak in from time to time to see how the competition is doing. That being said, I don't know if the pixel fold 1 or 2 is worth it. Would it be worth thr experience to ditch my fold 5 for pixel fold 2? Probably not, but I'm always curious. Also, I'm with T-mobile and none of the stores in my area ever had a review unit in store so I never got to play around with one.

    I feel like the whole thing behind Google products like the Pixel was the price points for the quality of product they were delivering. Now that the price has gone up near to what the competition is offering its making it harder to choose Google products. The whole magic behind it was the quality and great value. Thats not the case anymore they want be to up there in price with the competition and thats just not going to work to their benefit. They should stayed in their lane as the affordable quality product for awhile longer at least.

    Watching this and thinking yes it would have been better if G3 had been in the PixieFold I agree they rushed it out to quickly and it's annoying as hell that all the features going to the 8 series luckily I have the 8 also. As for the battery it's fairly decent for me no problems I can't complain there though I am looking forward to getting the PFold 2. I agree that nobody should have paid the asking price from G I got my PixieFold mint condition for £640 after trading in two other devices and it's the 512gb version there was no way I would have paid the outright asking price as it was ridiculously high. I can say though that I genuinely love my PixieFold and it's become more my daily runner than my Pixie 8.

  • @SeaMonkeyMetals
    @SeaMonkeyMetals 7 місяців тому +1

    Google probably didn't want to allocate G3 chip resources to a "beta" test of their first foldable, testing how well the device works in general and gauging demand for that type of device. Metrics were probably good enough to justify a G4 model that addresses any issues that the previous model had.
    A lot of us end users are still skeptical about "folding glass", and don't like the weird irregularities in the folded screens.
    It wouldn't make sense to devote massive resources to a device that might flop.
    The fact this all came on the tail end of a chip shortage doesn't help. Just look at the nonsense surrounding PC graphics cards. Feels like companies are using older supplies, and redesigning products around what they have available.
    🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @android7764
    @android7764 7 місяців тому

    It would be AWESOME if they came out with a Tensor G4 but imo I personally think looking at it from a business angle, Google might spec bump the G3 like snapdragon.
    Like how a few years back we got the snapdragon at the beginning of the year for the "S" line of Samsung phones & then the slightly juiced chip for the Notes.
    From a marketing & cost saving standpoint it gives us the chip we still want and gives them incentives & expectation to make the G4 even more capable!
    Besides, I can already imagine the belly aching in the comments & snide remarks from the posh tech tubers complaining about if Google releases the G4 next, besides A. I. & Software (since they already leaked design) what is there to look forward to with the Pixel 9 & 9 Pro?
    If they do give us the G4 anytime soon, I want the return of Soli by the Time the 9 & 9 Pro release! 😤💯

I really low-key think that this was just an experiment to see if we would bite and we did however they have to listen due to their buys and their returns on the phone! 😂😂 I think this time around they will nail it! Same with Samsung though. I have to give flowers to OnePlus because they definitely made them step up their game and we will see it this year! Sure slightly longer to open some things but when in them it moves so well. Its so much faster then I thought it would be and god the display looks so good. Samsung bushes brightness with colors so colors are bright yes but the pixel 8 pro has nice rich deep colors I was very surprised. It's also 489ppi compared to 500 ppi so can't even see the sharpness difference to the human eye. It's pretty incredible how good the pixel8 pro is and I won't lie I liked using it more then my s23ultra so luch so that when I upgrade I may just be going to pixel.
