    A vocal is a "Lead". A "Lead" is your main melody. A vocal is almost always your lead melody. The instrumental "lead" sound is simply a counter melody to your vocal, OR, if the vocal cuts out, then your synth melody then becomes your lead. Nice vid

    I often start a track without having the idea if I want to have a lead or not, it somehow depends on the vibes of the song and the feeling it produces when im listening.
    Never actually though about analyzing and disecting it in to different "Categorys" but I think this comes in very handy ,enhances the toolbox and having a better overview over it 🤔 Thanks for the nice input and the effort to categorize these different approaches! 🙏

      Exactly!! and to me this was really helpful to understand these different approaches and put them in practice!

    Leads and chord progressions for me is so fun. I pick a key throw on a simple 909 kick pattern and just jam on a keyboard for a couple of hundred bars while recording the midi, If I'm not feeling it, I'll change from minor to major or try a few different keys until I find what I'm in the mood for.

    • @AbstraktMusicLab
      @AbstraktMusicLab  Рік тому

      that's the way.. but making this video helped understand other ways to jam with!!!

      @@AbstraktMusicLab Thanks for answering. If it's possible to download all the midi examples you used in this video, it's great to work along side your tutorials and it's quicker if I can paste in the midi rather than having to put them all in manually.

      Feels like it's a bass with a bit more layers yeah. Gotta check it out! I have to start doing the sound design videos again, but I have to redo the format of them somehow. Thanks for the comment though
