It was the MacFarlane's awesomely stylized art style and action, and Spawn's corny but somehow still badass one-liners. Ya know at first in this scene I was confused as to why the big guy with glasses wasn’t firing his gun, but when he lost his glasses I was actually surprised to see him literally frozen in fear. That last shot of his terrified and dilated pupils before he dies was proper haunting too.
