The whole dual-personality thing establishes Clown/Violator as someone who very much plays by Hell’s rules but still harbors deep resentment towards Hellspawns and can and will easily obliterate a Hellspawn that steps out of line should the Malebogia give him the okay.
Man when Violator gets revealed...damn that was so good. Horror usually revolves around a slowburn reveal, playing off the fear of the unknown. Jaws, Micheal Myers, Alien, The Ring, Evil Dead etc. all play off slowly revealing the monster, with cutaway shots, and giving you snippets of the story. Here they just reveal Violator completely and has him explain his own backstory, like a villian explaining his plan to the hero, yet it's still the most perfect depiction of demonic evil I've seen on screen. The slight moans from violators mouth as he telepathically speaks into spawns mind, with slow uncomfortable and unnatural speech patterns, and complete personality shift, until the very end, when he tells spawn to get with the fucking program. Allowing himself to be shot and die, only to pull spawn down into a roof of a church despite looking at his corpse. It's brilliant. the soundtrack shifts in at the perfect moment.

A little touch I absolutely adore is when Violator speaks with telepathy, it can faintly hear his actual voice physically speaking and gibbering as well You can hear it at 4:07 when he says "hell" twice: first in telepathy, and secondly in his actual voice, and again at around 4:11 when he sighs and makes noises It's a super eery touch that adds to the "wrongness" of the demons in Spawn
Gods I wish Warner bros took notes from this before making their Spawn. Keith David’s voice is really the only choice for Spawn, and the violator is not supposed to be the Joker. He has to be creepy, literally a demon stuffed in a clowns skin.
This is the first time I'm seeing the animated Spawn series and I agree with the 3 guys below me, Richard Dysart has a great voice and makes me want to watch the series. In 2 videos, already can say he is an amazing narrator. He needs to do more.
Spawn is attacked on a daily basis and therefore, making any movie about him would be very difficult. His story is very deep, and the only real information about him is in comics that are very hard to come by. I believe spawn needs a successful animation reboot. They need to get spawn off of the page so that his name, skillset, powers, story, limitations, his very nature is common knowledge. Once you do that, you can make a mystery horror movie about the thing in the alley. That would be my name for the movie. also this should not be told from the point-of-view of Sam and twitch they miss too much of the action. This should be told by the perspective of one of the bums
