Ken I think it is best for you to think of the 47 years that you had together and remember all the best of those times. I am certain of one thing, that is, that she would want you to be happy. God bless you and my best wishes for your future happiness.

I nave never heard Sissle singing so low on the scale before. It changes her voice completely. I am used to her crystal clear soprano, which is second to none. But this is new to me. She is singing with such warmth! this is the best version of this song I have ever heard. This was so down to earth, yet utterly heart warming, It nearly brought me to tears.

The wistful tone, staring out across the water, but really across time, across the regrets of a lifetime, of opportunities missed. Even in the twilight of life, when the burden of so many memories weighs heavily, there is still time, there is still hope.

I have heard many songs sung by Sissel before, and been suitably impressed, but I feel like I have never really, really heard her, until this song, sung with delicacy, vulnerability, a minimum of showmanship ----little makeup, hair not fully coifed ---- at times almost as if she was just talking to herself or the calm water in front of her, a song sung and honestly shared from the heart.

March 29, 2021, To Sissel: An American here. Never before heard of you, until this evening. As someone else stated, I must have been living in a cave. I first saw your performance this evening of "You'll Never Walk Alone" performance from about 2001. That was the song my wife and I chose for her wedding entrance in 1980. Have now watched videos in the last hour or more from 1989 to 2020, a few hours worth actually. In the 1990's, one of the most popular and beautiful singers around the world was Shania Twain. She was a pop singer. Let's go back to the mid 1990's and re-think the situation for that time frame. The most beautiful singer in the world was not in fact Shania. I now think that it was you, Sissel! What a beautiful voice, what a beautiful presentation, what a beautiful face. And today, I am enthralled with your music after watching upwards of thirty or more of your concert presentations I have now witnessed here on UA-cam. I am simply blown away. Congratulations for such a wonderful career. I only wish I had known of you all those years ago here in America..........you are still just as fantastic today as those years ago........every video I watched had such wonderful meaning to me.

How wonderful to hear a woman sing this highly emotive song. Whoever wrote it must surely have experienced the remorse and regret first hand, because this song says it all. And this is a beautiful setting, lonely, yet holding out the possibility, and hope, that the beloved will appear.

I have wondered, since you started this "Reflections" series, if you would sing this, and whether it would be more beautiful than Willy's version that almost all of us in the States have been listening to and loving for decades. Actually, I already knew the answer, and this is at Least as beautiful as his heartrending version. Thank you, Sissel. You have brought so much beauty to this world. Me ke aloha... 🌴💖🌹

Well, mister b.s.-name... the fact that you think that our local music has the 'ukulele (a word you probably do not have a clue how to pronounce) as the dominant instrument tells me and anyone else around here who knows the first thing about Hawai'i all we need to know about your total ignorance of that one fact. (Spoiler alert: It is the acoustic Spanish guitar, brought here by cowboys from that country and Portugal in the 1800s... our "paniolos", who were hired to raise, herd, and care for cattle on our ranches here). And I'm absolutely sure that the list of things you are ignorant about is Many miles long, judging by what you have written just here. You are likely one of those dufus tourists who think that only sugar and pineapples are grown here. And one of those hasn't even been grown here since the 1990s. And you probably also believe that one particularly-overused word here is pronounced "A-Loooooow-Haaa", like they do on idiotic TV game shows and the variety shows at the tourist hotels in Waikiki... probably your only exposure to these islands. Sheeeesh. 🙄🤣
But here is the deal, Dilbert... Tomorrow morning I shall be still enjoying Sissel's beautiful singing of these old classics (waay better than either Willie or Elvis, in this instance), while sitting at my lovely spot on the bay across from Diamondhead with a cup of good coffee, in the shade of a beautiful tree (but Not under a coconut palm tree, where only ignorant tourists like yourself would sit) on a warm, sunny February morning.
You, however, tomorrow morning, will Still be an imbecile.

I didn't write that the ukulele was the "dominant instrument" in Hawaii at all. I just said that your brain is stuffed with it; and you have proven my point with your response. Aloha Oe
