For anyone just reading the title and not watching the video, spoiler alert: HE DOESN'T STAY PRODUCTIVE ALL DAY! He is intentional with his time, he does his best, he works hard towards his goals, but it isn't the perfect routine that everybody thinks they're supposed to have (which is actually unattainable).

Pro tip: use a drill (if you have one lying around) to spin the grinder! (The chuck screws right where the handle connects) I used this trick for a long time before I invested in a bigger/fancier grinder... but then again, manual grinding might be your secret to those biceps 💪

Matt!! I love your content - all of it. You're determined, but sound; proactive, yet realistic; and always, always aware.
With that being said, I want to say that as good as this video is, the absolute best part for me was everything at that 14:00 mark. I hesitated watching this video, honestly. Of course I want to be productive, but the "grind" culture has become entirely overwhelming and I wasn't sure I needed to hear again how I need to do MORE... I'm so glad I watched this and came across a realistic process. Your daily timeline was active, but not overwhelming (at least not from out here) and you presented to us honest struggles of how each day can go a little bit different - sometimes we get into that flow and it's amazing- other times, we just, don't. That's not "okay;" that's amazing bc you're showing us honesty, balance, commitment, love, and most importantly JOY in what you do. Beyond grinding it out and overcomitting, I think those things you're showing us are what culminate greatness. I appreciate this video so much, you have no idea! Whatever method you're using, please please keep sharing with us.

The most millennial day I ever seen haha but I love the honesty in the video - when you slacking off you show it - when you having fun not sticking to plan - you show it. That's why I love your videos! Most videos on yt like this are just flexing on viewers like "look at my awesome life" (
GOD DAMN YOU DREY DREXLER type shit) KEEP IT UP!

why was this so wholesome ahhh? I think when you make videos about productivity/habits etc, the videos can come across quite cold/overly serious but this was v different in its lightheartedness!! Definitely like that blend of hard work and silliness.

  • @sunniewilliams

lately I have been contemplating this weird "acheivers loop" that I've found myself and you spoke to it in this video. you have expectations to accomplish something in a day and because of your nature, it's an ambitious goal even if you may not think so on the onset. you work your ass off to achieve it. you fall short but feel as though you need a break. you can't enjoy the break because you don't believe you've earned it. so you set another ambitious goal the next time you go to work to make up for what you "failed at." the loop starts again.
really cultivating a sense of belief that you deserve rest seems so cheesy and for achievers, kind of produces a syntax error. however, the only reason we do anything is to have a better life. to be able to fully immerse yourself in rest, celebration or relaxation is to augment your human experience and is necessary for a better life.
easier said than done but i'll figure it out. decaf coffee helps.

Time blocks (scheduled) combined with an awareness of thoughts leading you down paths of distraction is the magic formula in my opinion. Thoughts like, "Oh I forgot to check X", "Notification pops op", "Urge to check Instagram", etc. - one thought, if acted upon, can lead you to an entire day of distraction. Being able to not act on these inevitable thoughts is TRUE power when it comes to focus, and life in general.

Hello, first of all I'd like to say you're doing the most important job of rising your children while balancing your work life. You're a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for.
Just by being there and helping your kids study you're shaping their future.I'm 23 years old and in past 10 years i've seen many people giving up or running away from this responsibility, How women put up with and balance their lives it still amazes me. My parents had so much financial trouble bringing me up but they put up with it for my future and I can confidently say I'm a much much better man because of their relentless efforts and dedication
I hope your efforts pay off in a similar way and your kids adore you and your husband for the countless hours you spent shaping their future
