I dont care why he did the drink stuff he did, i only care that he loved to drink, and he wasn't a good journalist because he just loved baseball. His legend and myth will never decrease for me. I listened to him every day from 1987 until the end. He was a drunk that loved baseball. He was every baseball fan of my childhood. Long live Harry!
If you were lucky enough in Chicago to listen to Harry and Jimmy Piersall do the White Sox games before Harry went to the Cubs, it was non stop entertainment with often hilarious exchanges between Jimmy and Harry..
I saw this video a few years ago and then it disappeared. I was so upset. I can’t begin to describe how elated I am to see this back on UA-cam. You’re truly doing the lord’s work, man.
I worked at Hoagies near Oak Park on North Ave. He had dinner there in the early eighties he brought the whole kitchen a drink and as the server walked away he told her after another bite better give them all a double. Then he came back to the kitchen before he left and said thanks everyone
Forgot the best part of the story of him getting fired by the Cardinals about going to another bar and ordering Schlitz. The bartender had to go to the liquor store across the street because didn't serve it. Then he had to keep going to the liquor store because people were ordering it in support of Harry.
Olberman is such an asshole...almost seems like he wanted to be a mere footnote mentioned by Harry, yet it sounded like a smear story...maybe I don't get ko's sarcasm, but HC was fun to listen to in the late '70s...
If only someone other than the always irritating K.O. was relating this tale!! I grew up listening to Harry broadcast for the Cardinals. I was heartbroken when he was fired. Seems like something the current stupid ownership in StL would do !!
What a gem. Harry my now and forever hero
🍺🍻🥃

Great story! Does Olberman still live with his mother?
Sounds like you do, though.
Harry an absolute LEGEND!! All Hail!!!!
Lmao 32K cans of beer is a whole lotta beer! 😂
This looks like AI.
I absolutely hate Keith but that is a great story.
This exact segment delivered by literally anybody else would have been epic. Can't stand him either

Ok TrumpChumps
You can't buy a 6 pack at a bar at cost.
So Instead of a 20¢ beer the bar probably charged 50¢, $10 still buys everyone in the bar a beer

I mean, are you really overdoing it if you can still write?
Harry was awesome.
Olbermann was insufferable.
And I'm a liberal.
69th Like.
K.O. is as much a National Treasure as Harry Caray
