It looks like a Japanese Austin Healey!!
I always have trouble associating the Figaro with early 90s. It occupies this weird proto-retro bubble of design history all to itself. Unlike the later, early 2000s retro-themed cars, there is less obvious modern design in the interior..or the exterior. It looks like an old car in a more convincing manner. But then you see the parts-bin vents and speaker grills and such and you fall into this weird uncanny valley. To put it succinctly, the Figaro is 'real weird' and I love it. Met a woman in the SF Bay Area who paid an *obscene* amount of money to get one CA legal...she wasn't even really a car enthusiast...she was just a Figaro enthusiast and I am so happy she exists. I'm certain that she will watch this video. If you're out there reading comments, know that you're a badass!
That interior.... wow! Love the white gauges, steering wheel design, center stack.... someone put some love into restoring/improving this car. Very nice.

Unpopular opinion: older cars have much nicer interiors than modern cars
Yup, love my w124 w/ m606. I Have 3, 80k short of 1mm miles combined. Not a rattle or squeak, they all look new.
A Toyota Aurion Sportivo they’re simple, there is much higher attention to detail. A vast majority were hand made and hand crafted, not mass produced and made of common material. They look nicer and are much more simple, rather than just having screens everywhere. Older Cars were cheaper, new cars are so advanced that they’re incredibly expensive. Cars all do the same thing, they go forward, backwards and get you from A-B. But it comes down to preference, and opinions are subjective. I just personally believe they look nicer.
@@Clvaner Me, and my dad had a conversation about this topic about a month ago. One of my main things that bothers me is some brands don't have any special or higher quality interiors over there more daily driver kind of cars. My dad got me a job at the Chevy dealer near us, and I was so disappointed in the interior of the new Camaro we got. Same with the few new Toyota's we got. A lot of cars now would get more love, if they didn't feel as basic as they are in the interior. If the same amount of love went into the inside then a lot of newer cars would be way cooler, and be worth the cheaper price tags.
Why unpopular?Many people don't like modern dashboards cluttered with gadgets distracting them from driving.
If by older you mean from 1988-2010, then no.

I was hoping to hear you blow the horn and i noticed that the vehicle was a bit loud. But apart from that I still love it~! Most adorable, visually pleasing and comfortable and simple car I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing the experience with us!
I just loves the retro look and the modern technology.
Much better looking interiors than rest of new cars made today with those ugly screens (for example BMW, Audi, Porsche, Tesla etc), this is what i need!
for everyone that is wondering. This car does not represent the time frame it was built in. This car was supposed to be a retro redesign of cars from the 50's and 60's.
This is better than watching 2020 bmw’s with their engine check light on

I rarely fall for cars like this but this car incorporates the best european styling of the 1960's with 1990's tech - sign me up! Wish I could buy a new one just like it in 2020.

I dont have a drivers license yet;im under 18 but im obsessed with watching these as i can drive my dad’s car when im in my home country in the country sides

This is the first time I see a Nissan Figaro and it looks super cool for holiday houses
It's like the 2002 Ford Thunderbird's older Japanese cousin. What a cool little retro styled car! It's too bad we didn't get a car like this back in 1991.

Saw these on importers' lists of availability for years. Glad to see a video of one. Massachusetts roads... how every manufacturer should test their suspension. Roads are deadly to cars. The joke us from New Hampshirites is: when you see a Welcome to Massachusetts sign, tighten your seat belt for the upcoming car-engulfing pot holes.

I got to say that even though the car is a 1991 it almost looks like it’s from the 50s or 60s and it looks good for being almost 30
I absolutely love these binaural recordings. Are you recording into a portable recorder like a zoom? I just bought roland binaural headphones for my trip to Disney. Thanks man, that is a lovely car. Ill definitely upgrade the suspension and floor board insulation when I get my own.
P.S. it's always a good idea to let your car idle 15 or more seconds for the turbo to spool down and cool few degrees (greatly improves turbo life and unnecessary engine failure).

My aunt used to own green Figaro back in '90s. Her car got 1.0 turbo with 3 speed automatic. I notice your Japanese syaken sticker is expired.

One question about units. I noticed you are recording your videos in USA and this car has metric speedometer as it is probably Thai or Japanese export. Is that great issue if for instance state trooper stops you and notices that or you take such car for registration?
If its here it was probably imported after it became 25 years old, so its exempt from a lot of normal things

i don't think its a CVT, bc at the beginning you can hear it shifting.
