Thank you!!! Your video brought my Chromebook back to life. My screen showed two half screens, white on top with many colored lines on the bottom. Step by step instructions insured no surprises. Took me about 20 minutes to replace the screen. Very informative and well done how-to video. Thanks again.
just replaced the screen in abt 15 minutes (had to pause the video to complete the steps) and working like new. Great video instruction, support and product- THANKS
Your video saved me from $250. My HP Chromebook 14 had these annoying vertical lines that took up about 1/2" running right down the center of the screen. It's an extra machine in my house and used by everyone. I couldn't stand looking at those lines anymore, so I started researching if it was fixable. I found your video and saw how easy it was to replace the hardware. My only problem was my PH00 screwdriver stripped one of the screws (not your fault) but I managed to get it the darn thing out and put a new screen in (less than $50 from Amazon Prime). The family is super excited the Chromebook looks brand new! Thank you.
Just wanted to say that these guys are awesome! I originally ordered this screen in error, it does not work for the HP Chromebook 14 X-series, so I returned it and within less than a week they had my exchange to me, no hassles at all. Plus, this video helped me install my screen with no problems, and I saved a ton of money doing it myself.
Excellent video. You've obviously done this a few times. It saved me $50 for a new screen. I found a loose connector and after reconnecting it the screen came back to life. Thanks!
Thank you for publishing this vid. I was able to follow its instructions to replace the broken screen in my HP Chromebook 14 with the screen from my other broken HP Chromebook which had its electronics burned out by a bad power supply from an externally-powered USB hub. Now I have at least one that works again!
Thanks for the informative video. I had a slightly different model of Chromebook (no hidden screws just plastic snaps all round) but your instructions made it simple. Son's Chromebook working again after he leant on it and cracked the screen - very happy boy.
I got some plastic tools to take things like this apart from amazon, and you don't have to worry about shorting out the connections. They are very handy to have around.
Thanks very useful vidoe. This works for acer Chromebook 14 cb3-431 dry nicley. Apart from screen bezal removal which I got off by very gently prying from around the edge under the rubber seal.
Now if I can just find a touchpad (mouse pad?) for the same model, I can buy the parts and get my old Chromebook working. Thanks for the tut, followed along as well as removing the bottom casing to get to the touchpad
Great video, thanks. But the first thing I would do is to disconnect the battery. 1 out 100 you can short the board if the battery is plugged in and yes I know what I'm talking about. I've done many many screens there is a small chance you can damage the motherboard if you do that, but don't disconnect the battery before you touch the connector.
Thanks for the video. The kid's Chromebook got stepped on (and why was it placed where somebody could step on it ?!?!?... kids) Good video, helped a lot. If I may suggest, a small compartmented parts box is handy for these types of projects.
After watching this video, I'd like to take a stab and fixing one. (of course after I purchasing one) Some of the model numbers have an "x" designation instead of a "q" or "c". Does the "x' marking denote a previous generation, let's say, from 2014 whereas the "q" and "c" ones are from last year? Lastly, I assume non-working keys means a keyboard replacement? Have you done a video on this, as well?
Hi! When i was opening the blue part of the hp chromebook 14 laptop screen to get the screen out, a steel magnet fell onto the keyboard. Where does that fit? Can you help in placing it back? Thanks in advance.
My school computer screen stopped working and I don’t wanna pay the whole thing for a replacement so I wanna fix the screen by buying a new screen and replacing it
Got new screen in and replaced it, but nothing happens. I can see a very very slight change in light on the screen when it turns on but that's it. I checked the connection, it's flush but still no dice. Please help!
I replaced mine and the screen doesn't display...I used my HDMI and the laptop still works through my tv.....I thought it might have been the screen itself but when I put my cracked screen in same thing it does display the all purple screen it had before
Hi, I have a question, what do I do if I have followed the instructions but when I turn on my laptop the screen doesn't appear to be working. Help please?
+teffy Vargas I found his website and this is the screen screensurgeons.mybigcommerce.com/hp-chromebook-14-laptop-led-screen/?gclid=CjwKEAjwwbyxBRCS74T049iEp0wSJACkO5v1O4qm2glpdBPrhwJf--uRMqJXK_qcI47lTN2-1VsRrhoCY2Xw_wcB
I have a screen that does not come on immediately when the laptop is opened. After repeated opening and closing the lid, the screen finally lights up. I think the video cable, zse lvds is damaged. I have a center hinge to which the base and LCD panel are attached. Acer R13, Model No CB5-312T-K4OU., SNID 644 0564 6376. The center hinge has 2 screws on the back side. Any suggestions, recommendations. Do you sell the cable?
+bulld9g I think the back light is LED and built in. There appears to be a (low) power handling circuit on the one side of the circuit board sticking out under the screen on the unit I've taken apart..

I honestly can't believe just how easy it was to replace the screen, thank you so much!
Thank you so much, I didn't realize that the screen connector had to "click" together, my screen wasn't turning on.
Thank you! I just did it and it worked. No more dead pixels.

Quitar flex de pantalla sin retirar la batería del ordenador. Menudo loco. No te ha dado corto la placa de milagro.
Does this work for the matte screen
