I was against buying this car originally; but, after seeing it at a local dealership in NJ, I bought one.... top of the line $114,000. I love it now. It's elegant, sleek, powerful and amazing. I thought 404HP was slight in comparison to other much more powerful cars. But, nope.... it's fast!!! Great car! I just leave it in sport and manual every time! Listen to that exhaust! You said that it isn't fast?!?!? What does 0-80 mph in 4 seconds tell ya? You get your own groceries? I have three Asian girls shop for me together.

+Mike B In my honest opinon when it comes to technology, and comport with hardware, I'd say no. Big reason why is because of Maserati's merger with Chrysler. Buttons, switches and knobs are cheaper. Infotainment system is good and an improvement but not up to par with Mercedes. And if you want quality in the Ghibli, you have to pay extra for the top of the line, such as this model.

You want a comfy luxurious ride-->GLE. +Darryl M. Cook Cabin noise is there, you can tell the build quality is good but could be better but the exhaust cancels a lot of that out. Speaking of exhaust, the drone isnt bad if under 4k rpm but I love hearing it. Suspension is stiff so it makes it uncomfy for rides over two hours or so with the bucket seats.

No prob, and nope you dont need to brake on a down shift but you'd want to be slowing down if doing so. So if you're for is off the gas and you are losing speed but not necessarily braking, just downshift when your rpms are low.
rpo305 Ok thanks man. I'm a new owner and they recommended me to use engine braking instead of regular brakes so I don't ware them off too fast.. but I'm afraid of just using the engine because it doesn't slow down quickly.
just the sound of the ignition brings comfort to my ears, my father has one and its such a fun car to be in.
RPO, the airbag stickers are removable. Take them off before it stains your $5,500 headliner.

Fyi basically is a Chrysler 300/Benz on the inside so don't expect reliably on the electronics

any recommendations on downshifting??
Not much, I usually downshift at 2,000 rpms. Never go into first gear unless your completely stopping.
