@@gmork1090 Nah that'd be only if everyone else except Sans died so he'd have no choice to confront Kris since he'd be the only one left to fight them. Also I'm not convinced Kris is evil. They may be the cause of the fountain in the living room, but my theory is they slashed Toriel's tires so that they could give her a reason to call the police (Undyne), whom Kris has being trying to warn about the Dark World in the past two chapters, and who has brushed off these warnings since she hasn't seen the Dark World in person. With Undyne coming over to Toriel's house, where a fountain has been opened which will likely send her into the dark world, she'll have to accept these things are real. If anything, Kris is more evil under the player's control, since we're the ones who force them to choose to attack darkners, or to go through the snowgrave route. They don't want to -- it's made clear they look in pain when they meet up with Ralsei and Susie afterwards.

@Lucka Goner kid is from a different timeline in the game, possibly when Flowey had taken over. It's suspected that Sans and Paps are also from a different time since they did show up out of nowhere and Sans talks about knowing the feeling of wanting to go back home. Extremely late but I love how the note on the treadmill says “The truth is that you got owned nerd”, and what sans says to you after giving you the key to his room is “It’s time you learned the truth” or something along those lines. A nice callback to that part in the judgement hall. What surprises me is that sans can’t remember the resets, he just reads your expression to know if you’ve already done or seen something, so imagine how much planning or prediction he would have to do to reference something he doesn’t even remember that he said, basically only guessing or predicting that he would say a specific thing.
Just realised something clever, when you read the blueprints and it says "you can't read the symbols they're written in... or maybe it's just the handwriting" could be a reference to how WD Gaster's speech is written in wingdings which includes symbols in the shape of hands (hand-writing)
Considering the blueprints are for a "strange machine" and sans and papyrus seem to actually be connected to deltarune. With gaster seemingly VERY important to it aswell. With thee whole "darker yet darker" line and entry 17 showing up everywhere
Imagine if the lights coming from under the door was actually from a strobe light sitting in the middle of the room. You just walk up to his room, open the door and see sans sitting in the dark, wrapped in a blanket staring at a blindingly bright strobe light.
U know, the more deeper I dive into the Deltarune's theories, the more I am convinced that this was more than just a prank. The Sans' doorframe appearing in the Dark Worlds, the shopkeeper at Snowdin saying that they just appeared there out of nowhere... I think Toby may be ploting for something really big and we will have to wait for the next chapters for answers.

Frisk wouldn't recognize Kris, Susie, and Ralsei or most of the characters from Deltarune so far. Deltrune is VERY likely an origin story for Sans rather than a technical prequel or sequel.
Not to mention when you fight Sans in the genocide route, he says that he's given up on "going back" and that "the surface doesn't really appeal anymore either", making it clear that "going back" is different from going to the surface.
This is actually strange because this confirms that there is stuff that Sans is hiding from people, Sans may look like a lazy bastard, but there is actually much more to him that we don't know, he could really be a graduate of quantum physics.

The part where you wrote "W D G Aster " it's misterious because the only letters that vanished are I, N and S. The pair of letters "IN" make me think that the secrets are *hidden way deeper (Yet Darker)* than we think. And is suspicious that both letters are deleted twice from his name. Also you can make the word *SIN* after reordering the deleted characters. That reminds me of *"You feel your SINS crawling your back"* Also by reordering letters/characters you can make the word *DISASTER* (when he got shattered through space-time).

it's funny to me how Sans' room seems like this big mystery, and then you get there and it's just... a room, with dirty socks. lol The real mystery is the basement, which has clues to the bone bros backstory.
The fact that Sans has to give you a key to a joke "truth", then within that joke hide another key to reveal the _real_ truth, gives me the "buried myself under so many layers of irony I no longer remember who I am" vibe. He had a life outside of all this. Outside the timeline. There are people he misses dearly that have nothing to do with your story. And it's painful for him to remember that, let alone keep all those memories to himself.

Sans has to be a Darkner who can jump between timelines, how else does he have the blueprints that are identical to the Thrash machine Susie and Lancer made, or have knowledge of "shortcuts" that is backed up by the similarities of his bedroom door and the Dark World's shortcut doors, can bleed just like the Darkners would (Ralsei would've corrected Lancer otherwise when he had a bucket for the blood he'd spill from the heroes, as Ralsei would know Monsters do not bleed which implies Darkners are a seperate race altogether), and is capable of dodging just like a Darkner. We do not know if he had really died in the Genocide ending, or if he had escaped through one of his many shortcuts to jump to another timeline that isn't doomed by the player's actions (Darkners are capable of retreating when near death, as Sans had done). True, your EXP and LV goes up when you defeat a monster, but San's retreat counts as a defeat and your unbridled violence still reflects upon you.
Execution points dont go up during a victory, only when you kill an opponent. Otherwise it wouldve gone up in the pacifist run. his brother turns to dust, you hear sans turn to dust, hell u can find his actual dust behind a pillar in the judgement hall. there's no doubt about him becoming dust As for the blood, its just ketchup. He drinks it a lot as you can see in the pacifist run. just completing a small gag in his end, fitting for sans and all darkners are based on obvious toys, which sans is...not. hes a literal skeleton, a "monster". Not to mention darkners could only flee at near death, not actually dodge (plus u cant rly determine what someone is over such a simple concept as "dodging an attack")

I just adore the tone shift from Sans's room being a joke and having the slight undertones of time and space, to the colder and duller feel of the Workshop, nothing quite like it to me
Oh god, anyone realize that the song "It's Raining Somewhere Else" (the song playing in Sans's lab) is his theme song, "sans." but much more mellow and...sad? Nostalgic even. This version of it is *even further slowed down.* Like, his main theme is his outer shell and his other song is how he truly feels inside. The photo book says it has pictures of him with other people and he looks *happy* (keep in mind that Sans shows emotions through his eyes) yet the song seems much more nostalgic. I don't know if I'm getting to any big relevation here that others haven't already guessed but, I guess you could say his lab is where his true dilemma and his behavior comes from. My theory is that Sans and Papyrus must be from a different timeline, explaining the machine, but since it broke and is unfixable, they can't go back and he only has pictures to remember their old life. Although it's not shown here, if we get a certain battle at Hotlands and visit Sans's Lab again,we get another picture that is described as "three people together" with the words "don't forget" in Sans's font. Might be him, Papyrus and Gaster, or who knows. Still, whatever happened before the bros showed up in Snowdin must be really weighing on Sans even to this day. Makes me sad :(
I was reminded of this secret room a few days back, and you know what it reminds me of? That place in Yume Nikki in Mars where you find that alien near a broken subway (?), because of the way it is mysterious with a sorrowful piano playing in the background. Both makes you think "there's more to this than I can tell right now"

Some of those photos might be Sans with Gaster since hes one of the most mysterious characters in Undertale, which might be because one of Sans attacks are called gaster blasters, plus with the weird language written on the blueprints. I may be completely wrong but thats what i think

L N there's over a hundred tracks for the ost. it's meant to make the music familiar and to make the player feel a nostalgic hence why ruins and waterfalls sound similar and hopes and dreams ae mashups of songs

They may be the cause of the fountain in the living room, but my theory is they slashed Toriel's tires so that they could give her a reason to call the police (Undyne), whom Kris has being trying to warn about the Dark World in the past two chapters, and who has brushed off these warnings since she hasn't seen the Dark World in person. With Undyne coming over to Toriel's house, where a fountain has been opened which will likely send her into the dark world, she'll have to accept these things are real.
If anything, Kris is more evil under the player's control, since we're the ones who force them to choose to attack darkners, or to go through the snowgrave route. They don't want to -- it's made clear they look in pain when they meet up with Ralsei and Susie afterwards.

Extremely late but I love how the note on the treadmill says “The truth is that you got owned nerd”, and what sans says to you after giving you the key to his room is “It’s time you learned the truth” or something along those lines. A nice callback to that part in the judgement hall. What surprises me is that sans can’t remember the resets, he just reads your expression to know if you’ve already done or seen something, so imagine how much planning or prediction he would have to do to reference something he doesn’t even remember that he said, basically only guessing or predicting that he would say a specific thing.

Just realised something clever, when you read the blueprints and it says "you can't read the symbols they're written in... or maybe it's just the handwriting" could be a reference to how WD Gaster's speech is written in wingdings which includes symbols in the shape of hands (hand-writing)

U know, the more deeper I dive into the Deltarune's theories, the more I am convinced that this was more than just a prank. The Sans' doorframe appearing in the Dark Worlds, the shopkeeper at Snowdin saying that they just appeared there out of nowhere... I think Toby may be ploting for something really big and we will have to wait for the next chapters for answers.
In the Twitch version, if you encounter Clam Girl, the picture album has a drawn picture of 3 people falling out and has the words "Don't Forget" on it. Frisk wouldn't recognize Kris, Susie, and Ralsei or most of the characters from Deltarune so far. Deltrune is VERY likely an origin story for Sans rather than a technical prequel or sequel.
I'm really starting to think Sans and Papyrus are Deltarune characters and are guest characters in Undertale

it's funny to me how Sans' room seems like this big mystery, and then you get there and it's just... a room, with dirty socks. lol
The real mystery is the basement, which has clues to the bone bros backstory.
The fact that Sans has to give you a key to a joke "truth", then within that joke hide another key to reveal the _real_ truth, gives me the "buried myself under so many layers of irony I no longer remember who I am" vibe.
He had a life outside of all this. Outside the timeline. There are people he misses dearly that have nothing to do with your story. And it's painful for him to remember that, let alone keep all those memories to himself.

7:48 It‘s raining somewhere else, it’s a really beautiful yet sad melody. Every time when I’m listening to it, I‘m relax, and a bit sad. Out of nowhere, I got emotional. I guess it’s probably because I always think of sans having a difficult time and goes to the grillby’s while crying at night. It makes me sad.
I've known about that secret room for years but I'm just now hearing the music for it. That made me so emotional, I almost cried.
Sans has to be a Darkner who can jump between timelines, how else does he have the blueprints that are identical to the Thrash machine Susie and Lancer made, or have knowledge of "shortcuts" that is backed up by the similarities of his bedroom door and the Dark World's shortcut doors, can bleed just like the Darkners would (Ralsei would've corrected Lancer otherwise when he had a bucket for the blood he'd spill from the heroes, as Ralsei would know Monsters do not bleed which implies Darkners are a seperate race altogether), and is capable of dodging just like a Darkner. We do not know if he had really died in the Genocide ending, or if he had escaped through one of his many shortcuts to jump to another timeline that isn't doomed by the player's actions (Darkners are capable of retreating when near death, as Sans had done). True, your EXP and LV goes up when you defeat a monster, but San's retreat counts as a defeat and your unbridled violence still reflects upon you.
Execution points dont go up during a victory, only when you kill an opponent. Otherwise it wouldve gone up in the pacifist run.

Oh god, anyone realize that the song "It's Raining Somewhere Else" (the song playing in Sans's lab) is his theme song, "sans." but much more mellow and...sad? Nostalgic even. This version of it is *even further slowed down.* Like, his main theme is his outer shell and his other song is how he truly feels inside. The photo book says it has pictures of him with other people and he looks *happy* (keep in mind that Sans shows emotions through his eyes) yet the song seems much more nostalgic. I don't know if I'm getting to any big relevation here that others haven't already guessed but, I guess you could say his lab is where his true dilemma and his behavior comes from.
My theory is that Sans and Papyrus must be from a different timeline, explaining the machine, but since it broke and is unfixable, they can't go back and he only has pictures to remember their old life. Although it's not shown here, if we get a certain battle at Hotlands and visit Sans's Lab again,we get another picture that is described as "three people together" with the words "don't forget" in Sans's font. Might be him, Papyrus and Gaster, or who knows. Still, whatever happened before the bros showed up in Snowdin must be really weighing on Sans even to this day. Makes me sad :(

I am very curious about what the second bonus room is about though. I have questions, like who the people in those photos could be, what exactly are in those blueprints and what's under the sheet.
There's a theory, that those blueprints are for the "Determination Extraction Machine" found in Alphys' True Laboratory
Some of those photos might be Sans with Gaster since hes one of the most mysterious characters in Undertale, which might be because one of Sans attacks are called gaster blasters, plus with the weird language written on the blueprints. I may be completely wrong but thats what i think

hello secret person checking the newest comments. ur here because of deltarune chapter 2 huh? you think everything connects. me too. my theory is gaster, sans, and even papyrus still retain there memories of undertale in deltarune. traveling across space and time? papyrus knowing sans can travel across space and time? gaster falling into the core, therefore traveling through space and time. theres something going on that no ones talking about, so just keep these things in mind going forward.

Woah, I do that same exact thing with my sheets as sans does, I put my pillowcase and blanket on my bed and then roll my sheet over them and it turns into a ball that looks like that, I also set my uncovered pillow to the side as well
