Sam talking about hail Mary's and other sports terms are a reference to Anthony Mackie's history of playing sports in college. He said in an interview with James Corden that he used to play football in college as a linebacker, but he saw the opposing linebacker player one day and said, "Never seen a white dude this big in my life." And after coming into contact with this linebacker, Anthony Mackie switched to theater and became an actor right then and there. Although in his 2015 film "The Night Before" Mackie does play a 34-year-old football player.
@ScreenCrush just to clarify, it's "Mighty Avenger Protocol" and Sam says, "Avenger Assembly", singular because they form a single unit. Love your videos btw.

When Bruce is talking about doing cardio and finding other ways to stay calm, it reminded me of the banter between Tony and Bruce in the first Avengers film, "What's your secret? I also wanted to point out that neither Sam nor Bruce talked about sex as an alternate form of cardio since it would be a moot point since we know from The Incredible Hulk that Bruce can't have sex as he "can't get too excited."

Not mentioned in the video is the harkening back in the kaiju designs to old Jack Kirby monsters in the pre-Marvel superhero era in their titles like Tales to Astonish, Strange Tales, etc. For a number of years, Marvel was comprised of humor comics and monsters.
Funny how people wanna associate ruffalos hulk with the super soldier serum, when tony in the avengers specifically told bruce he heard about his accident and that much gamma radiation should have killed him.
I mean in mcu continuity it’s mentioned in the first avengers film that his experiment was an attempt to replicate the super hero serum that made captain america.
@@LethalTalentzwas also told by Thunderbolt Ross to Emil Blonsky in The Incredible Hulk, "Banner thought gamma radiation was the key to unlock Erskine's formula" or something like that
As a millennial who grew up greedily guarding the highly coveted “yellow ranger” position on the squad(mind y’all, this is me as a kid with friends and we imitated the rangers). I loved this episode, it gave me a lot of 70-90s goodness
There was one Super Sentai series before Japanese Spiderman. Todtie took a break to ,ale Spiderman and this was the first time they used a mech and have used ever since.
@@gadaadyn8190 Wrong there were actually two Super Sentai series before Toei's Spider-man, Gorenger and J.A.K.Q. but the second one wasn't as successful so it was on a hiatus when Toei's Spider-man was made.
I really hope that's the quality of episode one does not reflect the rest of the season because holy fuck that's probably the one Marvel thing I have no interest in ever watching again
This episode was so bad in my opinion. The story was going too fast, I didn't understand half of the threads like Sam being mad at Banner for some reason. Also I have in my back, that the episodes could have been much more creative and we could get "What if other half got snapped", "What if Thanos didn't come back from 2014", "What if Hulk and/or Thor was/were in infinity war", "What if Loki won", "What if Spiderman's identity wasn't revealed", "What if Bucky would stay dead after fall from train", "What if Steve Rogers was never found in ice", "What if super solidier serum would fail on Steve Rogers" I could name much more, but YOU GET THE POINT. The series had so SO much potential and we get this instead.
It would be cool if this Avengers team and Hulk Zilla return during Avengers Secret Wars, Earth-616 Avengers will need all the help they can get to defeat Doctor Doom and restore the Multiverse.
I also want to add in a couple of things The episode also seems like an homage to the Marvel Mangaverse series of comics which also had the Avengers piloting giant mecha in order to defeat a godzilla like giant kaiju hulk Also pointing out how Captain America's mech was very obviously the Gundam RX-78 while Black Widow piloted Mazinger Z, I didn't catch if the other avengers mechanism were references to anything
It was cool to see the Mecha Avengers in action. I've seen them in toy stores but never in any cartoons. Also, the Avengers vs. quasi-Godzilla was so cool. He even fires the atomic breath in the episode. 😁👍
I like how at the end Sam is talking to Hulk's eyeball. How far away are Hulk's ears? In my head cannon, Bruce is just confused by having a giant blurry Sam in one eye but he doesn't understand because he's too quiet.
Episode Made NO sense. Bullets and Robots ARENT stopping A Hulk, ESPECIALLY an army of them. 🙄 The episode stated “hulk entity was released from banner without any conscious holdback.” Meaning it had no LIMIT. The madder each creature got they all should’ve become stronger doing TWICE what a normal hulk can do. Also, how on Earth are Monica and Shang Chi the LAST hero’s on earth to save them from this situation…. They’re getting LAZY with the writing and character adding.
@@lightdarksoul2097um… you are weird. You definitely knew what his comment meant and how it was referring to the characters and their details being inaccurate… it’s smart holes like you that get bullied.
I loved that they had Mark Spector in it! But I could watch seasons of What If instead of the cinematic universe at this point. I love the animation and all they can do with it!
My take is that they tried to go with a different Avengers lineup than that we are going to see in the MCU proper. I very much see Shuri being a part of that lineup, so that is likely why they went with Nakia here. Plus, she doesn’t need powers to navigate a mech.
The art style of the opening animation is an homage of Gatchaman, where the protagonists have long messy hair and face features like the ones the Avengers have in the animation.
Technically, Kaiju Hulk isn’t a completely original idea. It’s based on the Infernal Hulk storyline when in Earth 11638 Bruce Banner was both Hulk and Sorcerer Supreme and used a magic incantation to separate himself from Hulk, and banish Hulk to hell. Que Infernal Hulk. This is also the same universe that spawned Ghost Spider (not Gwen Stacy). Definitely one of the coolest alternate Spider-people.
This is the timeline for this universe, here we go! 1942-1945: Captain America The First Avenger 1946: Agent Carter 1995: Captain Marvel 2008: Iron Man 2010: Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer, Thor, The Consultant 2012: The Avengers, Item 47 2013: Thor The Dark World, Iron Man 3 2014-2024: What If… The Hulk Fought the Mech Avengers? I still think a version Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Spider-Man Homecoming and Doctor Strange still happened, but the events of Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame did not take place, I mean I guess half of those Gamma monsters could have been snapped away, and then the Gamma War ended around the same time as Avengers Endgame. The events of Captain America The Winter Soldier would have been very different without Sam Wilson, also Captain America Civil War and Thor Ragnarok would not have taken place.
This What If…? Season 3 episode is the closest we are going to get to a What If… The Other Half Got Snapped? I mean the opening started the exact same way as Captain America The Winter Soldier, then the part when Hulk created the Godzilla creature and the backstory of how the Mechs were created and the original avengers fell, to the Gamma monsters felt like the ending of Avengers Infinity War, then the 10 years later time jump felt like like the 5 years later time jump and the battle between the united Mech Avenger vs Godzilla felt like the portals scene from Avengers Endgame, even Bruce Banner said to Sam Wilson, "Cap, on your left" and Falcon said to Steve Rogers, "On your left." Maybe the sacrifice that Bruce Banner did, turning himself into the next Godzilla can be like when Thanos tried to snap, and said, " I am inevitable" and Iron Man tricked him, and actually snapped, saying, "And... I... Am... Iron Man."
6:59 so I thought maybe the same thing…that maybe they are squeezing out Shuri / Leticia Wright (which would make me SO sad) for Nakia. The only thing with that, though, is that they used a different voice actress for Nakia as well! Both Lupita and Leticia were not in this episode. So I don’t think that theory stands.

€-from the looks of it, these two movies may continue where the eternals left off. We just have to wait and see (update: the eternals is the build up to CA brave new world and Thunderbolts so I placed it after Deadpool and Wolverine). I am also predicting “What if…” S:3 will take place after X-men ‘97 due to the appearance of the watcher. If this is not the case, I will move it to its correct space in the timeline.
@-stand-alone sagas/episodes that are seperate, but still contribute to the continuity of the sacred timeline.
%-included for the hell of it {You don’t have to watch the fox movies, but it kinda adds to the WADP and SMNWH cameos.
I also included Cloak and dagger under this category because it mentions Luke Cage and Misty. Leigion, the runaways and the new mutants, accompany the fox X-men saga (They have nothing to do with the Deadpool movies or mentioned anywhere alse on the MCU timeline). The Ghost rider movies also contribute to the origin of Reyes’ Ghostrider in AOS S:4. Runaways was added because of the Dr. Strange references and mentions the Loa from cloak and dagger. Madame web, Kraven, and Morbius can all suck a fat one. You don’t have to watch them but they add to a dark time in the multiverse saga}.
A-Agents of shield episodes that precede and/or proceed main events in the main MCU timeline.
DS-Defenders saga episodes that precede and/or proceed main events in the main MCU timeline.
$-Sonyverse, aka trash (Venom and the spiderverse flicks are cool, but the rest suck).
Let me know what you think and enjoy the list!
P.S. Madam web is trash. I put it there because it introduces the web of events, and opens up the 616 to the Sonyverse; post what if…S:2.
May god have mercy on the souls of the people that made this movie.
But wasn't it the Super Soldier serum, only Gamma rays instead of Vita rays??
I mean in mcu continuity it’s mentioned in the first avengers film that his experiment was an attempt to replicate the super hero serum that made captain america.
@@LethalTalentzwas also told by Thunderbolt Ross to Emil Blonsky in The Incredible Hulk, "Banner thought gamma radiation was the key to unlock Erskine's formula" or something like that
@@KaijuAKD yeah I don’t really understand the op comment at all lol
1000% ready for the Crush-Spoilers rivalry verse. Big MSKT3K vibes *grabs popcorn*
That popcorn looks good. Scoot over please. This should be good.
As someone who grew up with the 1982 version of The Hulk, I am over the moon to see the design back even if just for a flashback LOL
As a millennial who grew up greedily guarding the highly coveted “yellow ranger” position on the squad(mind y’all, this is me as a kid with friends and we imitated the rangers). I loved this episode, it gave me a lot of 70-90s goodness
I love the positivity that’s come from this video!
Super Sentai existed before the Spiderman show. Hann Saban brought the series Zyu Ranger to America as Power Rangers
I also noticed a "Six Million Dollar Man" bionic punch sound. Did you?
Skip to 5:10 for the actual episode
Goated.
I really hope that's the quality of episode one does not reflect the rest of the season because holy fuck that's probably the one Marvel thing I have no interest in ever watching again
I like how they leaned on Sam's mental health expertise here.
Every episode so far has been insanely fun
It’s interesting that season 2 started with a Blade Runner knockoff and season 3 starts with a Pacific Rim/Voltron knockoff😂😂
Seeing so many Kirby inspired gamma beasts brought a tear to my eye
Tony's character design also invokes the Professor of Ninja Science Team Gatchaman, adapted as Battle of the Planets and G Force.
Thank you!
I didn't like how this episode is basically a parody of Godzilla vs Kong, instead of a "one choice" variation of the MCU. This episode was meh.
The combining scene reminded me so much of that 80s cartoon Mighty Orbots 😊
Well that sets up that hulk to come back at the end
It would be cool if this Avengers team and Hulk Zilla return during Avengers Secret Wars, Earth-616 Avengers will need all the help they can get to defeat Doctor Doom and restore the Multiverse.
I also want to add in a couple of things
The episode also seems like an homage to the Marvel Mangaverse series of comics which also had the Avengers piloting giant mecha in order to defeat a godzilla like giant kaiju hulk
Also pointing out how Captain America's mech was very obviously the Gundam RX-78 while Black Widow piloted Mazinger Z, I didn't catch if the other avengers mechanism were references to anything
It was cool to see the Mecha Avengers in action. I've seen them in toy stores but never in any cartoons. Also, the Avengers vs. quasi-Godzilla was so cool. He even fires the atomic breath in the episode. 😁👍
Phil coulson didnt make caps avengers suit, he said he had SOME input
Is it possible, Sam saying “Are you seeing what I’m seeing?” when his mech goes under water is an “Atlantic Rim” callback?? 6:21
I like how at the end Sam is talking to Hulk's eyeball. How far away are Hulk's ears? In my head cannon, Bruce is just confused by having a giant blurry Sam in one eye but he doesn't understand because he's too quiet.
Surprised you didn't do Creature Commandos Episode 4.
Pacific Rim 3 and Godzilla Who Cares Anymore crossover was so good!
Episode Made NO sense. Bullets and Robots ARENT stopping A Hulk, ESPECIALLY an army of them. 🙄
The episode stated “hulk entity was released from banner without any conscious holdback.” Meaning it had no LIMIT. The madder each creature got they all should’ve become stronger doing TWICE what a normal hulk can do.
Also, how on Earth are Monica and Shang Chi the LAST hero’s on earth to save them from this situation…. They’re getting LAZY with the writing and character adding.
Happy someone said it HAHA… I agree bro bro. thousands of tanked Godzilla hulks don’t have trouble with tin cans and nerf guns.
Wow sense in a show where gamma doesn't kill you but turns you into a giant green monster
Seeing Miss America from Battle Fever J in the thumbnail is just muah!
When Sam launched the fist at the Apex, he missed the opportunity to say "You wanted a bigger punch".
Moon knight mech went hard.
Loved the character development in this episode between Sam and Bruce!
Bonus: Oscar Isaak’s Moon Knight 😍
Waaaaait so now I’m an episode ahead of everyone? FIRE 😂 cancelling my D+ sub was definitely a good move
I SAW MISS AMERICA FROM BATTLE FEVER J IN THE THUMBNAIL !
Clicked as soon as I could 😂
I love Super Sentai
Atomic Breath vs. Gamma Breath
Which one is powerful?
This is where the fun begins!!!! 🙏🏽💪
The Cap'n Crunchies reminds me more of the 1001 Dalmations snack "Kanine Krunchies".
Quietly What If returned…
When Bucky said “I heard he had a secret lair inside of a volcano” it reminded me of the red lion from Voltrons lair
BEST CROSSOVER EVER 😂🤣
This feels like a pretty clear setup for a final episode villain killer
The scene where they all combine was so similar to an old 80s show called Mighty Orbots 😉
Toy leaks for Black Panther 2 showed multiple Black Panthers and the White Wolf in a comic accurate suit .
Sam's Mecha's basically is a Gundam type . And there is another one that looks a Zaku with the L-shape left shoulder shield.
Apex spawning other monsters, reminds me of Gremlins when they get wet.
I would say that banner dropping in and changing is more like attack on Titan with the Colossus Titan.
A Hailmary is a long pass to the in zone, and blitz is basically tightening your defense line to rush the quarterback in football.
That Paul cameo was far more interesting than this What if...? episode.
The design of the apex hulk kinda reminds me of Destoroyah and also leopardon not being here is a crime.
This episode reminds me of gundams in the Pacific Rim storyline mixed with marvel at the helm 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is the timeline for this universe, here we go!
1942-1945: Captain America The First Avenger
1946: Agent Carter
1995: Captain Marvel
2008: Iron Man
2010: Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer, Thor, The Consultant
2012: The Avengers, Item 47
2013: Thor The Dark World, Iron Man 3
2014-2024: What If… The Hulk Fought the Mech Avengers?
I... Am... Iron Man."
Or the other van with a huge A on it… you know the team, what was it… the b team? 1:17
Merry Christmas screencrush
I hope I'm not the only one enjoying the Heavy Spoilers collab
