So I bit the bullet, traded in my s22 ultra for the z fold 5, and I'm actually impressed, getting pretty decent battery life, but that inner screen it's magnificent especially watching content and reading
Can you be honest, is the battery life is as good as S series. Like is it last at least 1 1/5 day like S23 or Iphone 14 Pro Max?

Is it worth upgrading from S22 ultra to Z fold 5 keeping in mind of getting a lower battery and a downgraded camera. Even the cover screen is small

i traded in my iphone 14 pro max for the zfold 5 and i absolutely love it...dont think i can ever go back to a normal slab phone.
I have the s23 Ultra and the Fold 5.I did various tests with the cameras and was extremely surprised that the fold5 takes better pictures! especially when it comes to sharpness and details. so it's unfair to say the fold5 is weaker, it's just missing a lens. I ran the tests several times, always the same results.
I also prefer my zf5 shots over my s23u which is madness

Great video, keep it up. Had the s23u and bought the z flip 5 but probably going back to the s23u as the battery life, screen size, and cameras were amazing. Z flip 5 was cool with that cover screen but love tgat large form factor too much. Z fold 5 is too pricey for me so figured I'd wait to buy, if i even buy it at all.

Fold should have the built in S Pen, make it thinner like the Chinese brands and return the micro SD card slot.
Watching from my Fold5.. great video, looks amazing on my inner display lol, but i do really like the S23 Ultra, its such a monster, but i wanted to get away from the slabs for a while and see what the foldable market will offer moving forward. The S24 Ultra looks so amazing, but ill stick with thr F5 and see what the F6 looks like later this year.
as someone who owns the s23 ultra 1TB, z fold 5 1TB and the z fold 4 512gb, trying to decide between them which is best and by far in my opinion its the z 5 the camera looks better in some shots, s23U is an overall beast as you can probably tell I haven't managed to return or sell the others so just goes to show how brilliant they are
I had the Fold 4 but didn't like the small screen and the aspect ratio of the interior screen. Traded for the S23U and don't regret it. I also just traded my flip3 for the flip5 as the trade value was too good to pass up. I will transition between them, but the Uktra is still my favourite.
I own s23 ultra should i trade it for flip 5 coz i want a compact device
actually the inner screen aspect ratio on the ZFold5 is why ive decided to wait on the S24 Ultra, as nearly all movies and videos now are in a wide screen ratio. there's no since in having all that screen only to be using a fraction of it.
Just put the camera on the bezel for z fold/flip 6 and s24 series.
Why is the camera the main focus of a camera 😢 the other operations are far more important

I have the Pixel 7 Pro but have a hard time justifying the Pixel Fold. It's so expensive and I don't think I will have anything nice to say about it over the Fold 5.
honestly its not bad, so many trade in deals to get 1000 off, and also i mettled with the fold 5, i just dont want to feel like i have to open the phone to enjoy it more, hence why i like the front screen better on the pixel fold @@jeradhilltech
The fold 5 has a QHD+ inner display and FHD+ outer glass display. The camera set up is the same as the S23 and S23 plus.
I just wish that you'd show the devices that you're reviewing, instead of what they look like with a protective case. If you have to for sponsorship reasons, I get it, then at least have a short segment showing what they look like raw next to each other.
Thank you for this video. I think it makes a good comparison. I think most people are gonna be happy with the z flip 5 because most people want a portable phone. And most people want a phone that takes good quality pictures, but they dont necessarily see the need for s23 ultra quailty pictures. The z fold 5 is way over priced it cost more than a tab s9 ultra. Hence, i feel that unless you can justify a reason to need it, dont buy it. I read a lot of people buy it for production use, which makes sense. However if i wanted a big screen to take notes i rather just get a tab s tablet. Secondly everything comes down to preference do you want a phone that is more portable and less heavy then pick the z flip however you wouldnt mind sacrificing a good camera. I personally would choose the ultra because i just want a phkne that works.
The camera literally means nothing to me lol. If they said hey were removing the camera and adding a bigger battery or something I'd see it as a win. 😂

Idk why ppl even want super duper cameras on their phones.
It made sense when photo cameras didn't have the same "abilities" that phones did - but nowadays cameras have WiFi, touch screen... And no camera on any phone, no matter how big and how many pixels it has, will ever be as good as a dedicated camera device.
I have a Canon camera that fits in a small purse and it's an absolute monster.

Love my z fold 5
I started with the s23+ for about 30 days upgrading from the s21 ultra and just wasn't impressed, so I traded for the fold 5. My wife went for the flip 5 about 2 weeks ago upgrading from the iPhone 15 (yuck iPhone that I tried talking her out of originally) but again she just wasn't happy with it so her fold is arriving today. Don't get me wrong cameras are important but she has her Canon DSLR camera for everything important and the trade off of the fold vs the s23 or the flip in screen size and capability has sold both of us. Having that fully functional screen on the front not just widgets is probably the biggest selling point for both of us on the fold.
I have a Fold 4 and am concerned with the inner display longevity. The 5 is no real big departure from the 4 so there is no pointing in upgrading. But with my year marker coming up, I am about to time out on the manufacturer warranty. I am highly considering getting a S23 Ultra instead.
How long have you had the 4? I used mine daily for a whole year and didn't notice one change in the display or hinge.

My hinge on the fold 4 failed right before the one year mark. Went through the warranty for repair, and they are short on parts, no replacement units, so getting a full refund. Now deciding between fold 5 and s23 ultra. But due to the recent experience, I'm probably gonna go with the s23 ultra. I honestly don't trust these folds to make it past two to three years unless you baby it.
@@keic6891 i appreciate your response. I don’t know if I should just get the regular S23 for now or wait for the pixel in October I just don’t want the screen to crack before the end of September because if that happens I’m in your same situation.
@daa5014 If you're buying direct from samsung, they have a 14-day return policy with no restocking fee. If you wanted to test the s23 before making your decision. Don't think you could go wrong with either one. Pixels are great devices as well.
My fold 3 has giving me problems with the fold and screen going out.
I'm apprehensive about getting the 5 , really thinking about getting the 23 ultra

My S23 ultra had a manufacturing defect with the screen where left half would be normal brightness and the right side was super bright. I'm getting the zf5 next month.
Good review. I would pick the S23 because offers more camera wise longevity , water resistance, battery life and price.
256gb s23 ultra has 8gb ram, 512gb and up have 12 gb ram. Z flip has 8gb ram on all storage models. Z fold 5 gets 12 gb on all models even the base 256 option.
Fold 5 is the best IMO, cameras are not as great as the ultra, but better than the flip, not as portable as the flip, but more so than the ultra, better battery than the flip, bigger screen than the ultra, it’s on par with both phones in several ways but better in its own ways too, you sacrifice little all around as opposed to a lot on 1 category like you do with the other two

I bought the S23 Ultra as it is everything I need and use.
Fold and flip is not for me, but for those that get/have one, that's great too.
I don't look for a "perfect phone". Just look for one that's perfect for me.
So you said that the reason you chose the S23 Ultra was because of the telescoping lenses camera . If the Fold 5 happened to have that one extra same camera camera, would you still have picked the Ultra?
If the Fold had the same camera lineup as the Ultra, I would stick with the Fold. Best of both worlds.
You can see the seam in the middle of the display on the Fold. Why not just get a tablet?? I'd go with the S23 Ultra and get a tablet in order to enjoy a larger display.
Be honest, which has the most battery life - it's the most important factor for me. And don't give me that "depends on the user" bs. When comparing phones this is a non-factor, as this is, theoretically, about one and the same user using all these phones - and answering which one lasts longer for that one user. I do not need an estimation of "it will lasts X hours", I need the "out of these 3, this phones lasts longest"
I use each phone differently. I get better battery out of the flip because I find myself opening it less. I haven’t done a comparison doing similar tasks, just based on how I use the phone. I use the fold a lot more because it’s kind of like a tablet and I like to write on it. The S23 Ultra probably has the best battery life based on normal usage.

@@Involvement82some ppl that buy those flip fold phones are so abusive to the phones they shouldn't really buy those. I never had any of the fold and flips screens go bad when the older ones the screen protector just barely start loosing up I got the screen protector replaced. Never any bad or crack screens. Ppl use the phones with those peeling screen protectors to lazy to get them replaced the dirt dust get under the protector on the screen then damaged the screen. Easy fix get the protector replaced as soon as it starts peeling really not a problem and it will be OK but many don't do that and have them peel badly look horrible just because to lazy to change it specially since samsung offers one free protector replacement already.
@@Involvement82not necessarily. I have had the fold 4 since launch and absolutely love the phone but I had to send it in twice to get warranty repair because the hinge would not open all the way. Has nothing to do with how you handle the phone.

I don't want any of them. I bought the S23 Ultra because of the trade in value but my sim card is not inside. I've tried every way to love but I can't. I put my sim card inside but just for a day or two, take it out again. It's too big and the camera can fail miserably sometimes in some lighting conditions. My sim card is mostly in the Motorola Edge Plus 2023
