I never have and probably never will take a tractor apart. But it sure was interesting to watch! Thanks, Pete!
I've seen some people question the time put into rebuilding farm machinery on several tractor videos. I grew up on 400 acres or so that was leased out to cattle and sheep, for the most part, so my 12 to 17 hour days, 6 days a week, were as a paid laborer on another farm in the summers from 8th grade through college. My boss was a fair and hard working man who loved his kids and never had problems with equipment (other than what some bailing wire would take care of until winter and more time to do a real fix). After putting his fields to rest for the winter, he spent each working day going through each piece of equipment making sure everything that could be done was done to ensure long life and reliability. By the time spring came, everything was beautiful and ran smoothly. Each year he seemed to add another thing that he had purchased at a deep discount that would benefit his growing farm. Because of his diligence he continued to purchase and lease more land around him so his hardware needs grew. After getting his current fleet "perfect" he would then dig into the new piece of equipment. Each was normally done by spring. He would sell off his "perfected" smaller or older one and move forward with the larger and/or more modern device. Unlike some neighbors who spent the winters skiing, he invested each day. Work always stopped when his girls showed up and they all learned to have fun turning wrenches and finding the grease points. I've yet to meet a man who had a better relationship with his girls. They spent hours talking in the shop. He also got to know all of their boyfriends as he would hire them because of his "desperate need" for help to get that old thing ready for spring. I've yet to meet a man who knew the boys dating his girls like this man did. He changed the vectors of their lives. Even the ones who did not end up as husbands.
Awesome truth, I had a similar experience as a teenager in PA. God bless these amazing men!
Great story Mine was a ww 2 vet spent many days around him he owned a 160 acre farm hogs and milk cows small dairy operation.
Interesting and well written story that Ken. Thanks for sharing :)
I admire your ability to take this all a part . I get anxiety just watching 😂. I would forget where it all came from . I can see where these videos can help others working on this type of tractor , and the knowledge you're sharing is great .
As long as you don't end up with spare parts....😅
My thoughts exactly.
It gets actually pretty easy since most of the parts are big so easy to remeber and you can always take loads of pictures just to be sure.
Oh I got the go handle reference. I too must like watching old things being brought back to life.
"This battery has a Go Handle," Pete with the low key nod to Vice Grip Garage. Awesome!
The adventures begin Pete. All thought we aren’t there in person, we are in spirit watch your progress. Thank you and Merry Christmas
That’s well said.
Eeeeed
Buddy, you talk to your Farmall with the same voice that you talk to your little pigs. This may be my favorite video. Can't wait to see the rest of the transmission. Thank you.
I love this series. it got me to start watching you and I don't regret it whatsoever!
Such a pleasure to see you relishing getting stuck in to this winters project.
I love how you talk to your tractor like you talk to your cows and pigs😃
What’s the best Christmas present in the world?
A broken drum, you just can’t beat it.
I recall the problem last year getting the sediment bowl on. I believe this winter series will be very interesting.
Yes, I enjoyed it thanks. Really looking forward to this workshop series.
So cool to watch you work on these tractors. My husband and I just love your channel
This is the only reason to look forward to the start of winter. Merry Christmas to all of your family and viewers.
Great start to a new rebuild. Thanks Pete
Can’t wait to spend the winter with you watching the rebuild. Fun stuff
Goodluck putting her back together pete!!!!!!😀😀😀😀👌👌👌👌👌
You are absolutely right! Winter is good weather for some machinery repairs!
Love the “Go Handle” reference! Perfect
Love this video. Papa owned a Skee-ball and Arcade. He taught me (a girl) the mechanics of how skee-ball works. In high school, girls were not allowed to take car mechanics class & I would have loved it. I had to take sewing; which is good knowledge too, but not the same. Lol
Vice Grip Garage reference with the go-handle... Love it!
Merry Christmas to the entire family and everyone else watching
When all else fails, resort to the "fire wrench" LOL
Like digging into Farmall history. The disassembly was done more than once in the past by most farmers. The over the winter project.
The Tractor Whisperer. 😉 Merry Christmas to you and the family, Pete. 🎅
Thank You, Merry Christmas and God Bless You and Your Family!! 😊❤⚘🎄
More involved than I remember to disassemble. Good thing for the manual with the breakdown.... ha
It's got the "Go Handle," #VGG hilarious
You're such a handy man to have around. Videos like this are good brain food. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks for sharing. 😊☺
Rewatching this... I really wish i could reach back in time and tell ya to pull that valve cover...
Still cool to rewatch Pete
Pete, Vice Grip Garage would be proud of that go handle!
I have been waiting all year for these videos I’m excited
👍Happy Holidays to you and your family
That's a lot of remembering to where things go back!!
I so enjoy using a torch to get them stubborn dog on nuts and bolts apart my dad taught me that 40 years ago working on outboards and I passed it down to everybody that I know
Now the fun begins!!
Brings back some wonderful memories, Pete. Thank you for sharing.
I was waiting for the light to come on as you pulled out the sreering rod. LOL MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU
Love your “shop” videos. I work on some of my farm equipment at my timber farm, but nothing like you. You have skills, my friend
I love this time of year! Your repair videos are great.
Yay!!! A shop video! I love these, Pete. You just made my day.
Yes, enjoyed watching the video. Thanks 👽
Good stuff I've driven them never seen the inside of them, looking forward to next video 👍👍👍👍
A fella just gets excited when he see's a battry with a go handle.
Nice video Pete! I liked the Badgers shirt and the nod to VGG with the battery go handle.
Dear Pete - Thank You for all the videos during the year , every time I’m notified there is a new video to watch it makes my day . I think a lot of your viewers find that it takes them to a different place . Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family ❤️🇨🇦🎅🏻
Looking forward to the work you will be doing on the tractor. By spring it will look and run like a new one. Merry Christmas.
Fun fun fun. I've split tractors that have a cab and that's a lot of work. When I worked for John Deere as a mechanic they only paid us 6 hours to split a tractor.
U are a smart man....keep the video's coming
I have a great deal of respect for how calm you are with everything you do! I’m generally frustrated by the time I find the tools to start on a job like that!
From personal experience here, it helps when you are well organized, have quality tools and you don't need what ever you are working on right away so you can take your time and walk away when something is giving you a fit for the lack of a better word.
I Truly Enjoyed it, Pete, took me back to Where it All Started for me watching. I continued to watch you finish the front half of the tractor, then stayed, and have Enjoyed watching the Farm Life Videos ever since. Now A Winter Full of Rebuilding the back half. Cha-Ching
Pete I’m so pleased you are doing the rear end of the MD, looking forward to this adventure.
I'm very excited to see you working on the MD again! Merry Christmas Pete and family!
Thanks for a great year of video watching. Good luck with the back half rebuild and merry Christmas to you and your family.
Oh yes! We waited all year for this. I subscribe to the the Sobkowiak idea that if you expect to fail the first time on a farm project then you won't be too disappointed. If it was all easy it would be boring my friend. Personally I'm trying to get an old GT 3000 garden tractor running for my small orchard. The gas cap broke and was funneling pure refreshing pacific northwest rain into the tank and now the carb is full of some sort of microbrew. Heh. Maybe I'm in the wrong business.
Great shows thanks for sharing and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Gods blessings for you all
Awesome video! Educational…entertaining…. Can’t wait for the split & what you find inside!
Pete you and your family have a Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas Pete, Lady H and the fam. And to a better New Year!
Yes! I love your mechanical videos! Thanks for continuing them Pete😊
Its awesome to see you working on the MD, good luck to you and I hope to see an awesome outcome of this project.
Another good video. Thanks Pete . Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Merry Christmas Pete, to you and yours. Happy New Year as well.
Keith hope you and your family have very Merry and Enjoyable Christmas. Your videos take me back lots of years
.
Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
Can't wait to see it done.Merry Christmas to you and family.
I love your videos. Learning the old school mostly forgotten ways of things. I've learned and remembered so much of when I was little. Thanks Mr. Pete.
I am looking forward to this series. We had an "M" on our farm when I was young.
Your tool repertoire is nothing short of amazing! Some of my guys will be watching from home during their Christmas vacation. They just love to watch!
Watching this makes us respect all that goes into getting food to our tables. Thanks for sharing, Pete.
Seemed like yesterday when you tackled the engine. Thank you for all your superb and uplifting videos this year. God bless you and yours. Merry Christmas from Hampshire UK.
Good morning Pete!! This was a very welcome, and enjoyable start to my Day!! One just never knows what they’ll find opening up something for the first time in years. It will be interesting to see as you go through it!! Have a great day Pete!!
i love how i pay more attention in your videos then in my school... your videos always brighten my day idk what your doing to do that but keep doing it
Pete, glad to see you starting phase 2 on the MD. I really enjoy these videos and see your knowledge and experience, plus as I had told you before when did the front half,I grew up with an MD and SUPPER WD6, WD9,SUPER A, so always have good feelings and fond memories of the IHC RED LINE. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I always enjoy watching-thanks and have a very merry Christmas from Hoboken ga
Pete, I hope you remember where everything goes when it is time to put it all back. Love your video. Can't wait 4 the next one
I’m in that boat already. I hope you have better luck than I am having. I bought a 41 m and driving home, and finding out that the head was cracked in no. 3 exhaust port. I tore into into it, that turned into “uh-oh” there’s more? Ok then let’s go a bit farther which turned into holy cow, now I have to go farther which turned into a whole lot of expletives and amazement that the tractor even ran decent let alone drove home. Needless to say after a totally complete tear down and end to end top to bottom and side to side overhaul of EVERYTHING! When I get done with it I’ll have a very beautifully restored m and I have added a few goodies too. I wish you better luck 🍀 than I’ve been having and when you are done that you fun with it. May you have a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
I have been enjoying your videos throughout the year. Thank you for inviting us along on your journey at Just A Few Acres Farm. Merry Christmas to you and your family! 🇺🇸🚜👍🎁🎄⛄️
Good to see you Pete. Have a good day.
Wow, you are amazing! It’s truly a gift to be able to do what you do with your tractors. I find it fascinating to watch! Thanks for sharing with us!
Merry Christmas to you and yours Mr. Pete!
It is so much fun to watch you work on your tractors. I guess I'm n armchair mechanic at heart. I always learn something watching you work on the tractors. Merry Christmas to you, Hillary and your family. As always I thank you for your time and your videos.
Merry Christmas to you and the family hope you all have a great time
Lots of pieces Pete!
Had some of those troubles taking apart a 50 year old car.Always like making the old things useful again. Thanks for many good ideas.
Best of luck Pete. I will be anxiously waiting your next video. I just want to say that I absolutely enjoy your videos. I come in from working on my farm and enjoy relaxing in the evenings and watching your videos. I am usually doing about the same type of work as you. Keep on making this awesome content.
Pete, always enjoy when you start into the mechanical part of farming, for it all works together for a successful farm. You and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.🎄🎄🎄🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎊🎈🎉🎆🎇
That is talent! Had no one growing up who worked on anything mechanical so this was very interesting. Great explanation on what is happening and why.
Hey Pete! Looking forward to future repair videos on this tractor. A Merry Christmas to you and the family, and a safe and healthy New Year! Keep up the great work with the videos!
Merry Christmas 🎄 to you and your family Pete!
Looking good Pete! I can't wait to see whats inside that Trans, and I am excited to see a nice painted tractor! I started doing my motor tear down on my pony and doing a rebuild. I hope to be as thorough as you!
Pete I am so amazed at how well you are able to setup the camera and shot the video and make it seem so seamless. Your a joy to watch. that's saying nothing about the content witch I my opinion is spot on. I truly enjoy your work. God bless you and have a very merry Christmas Pete.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Hilary. Looking forward to 2022. Cordially, OleDave Wilson
Love this! I’d so love to be there to help and learn from you Pete. Great episode yet again 👍🏼
Pete I’m so excited to have new videos on the MD. We have a Super MD that my family has had since the late 50s. I have been wanting to get it running and restore and your videos have been so useful and gave me the motivation to get it running and on track to get restored. Keep up the good work
It never ceases to amaze me how you know what each and every do dad on your tractors are. If i took it apart, i'd never remember what went where. I will blame the fact that i don't know as many "groan" jokes as you!!! Keep em coming. Facinating waatching the tractor rebuilds. Wish i knew how to do it. My kind of winter project. Hah. Hi to Ezra!!
This seriously looks like a lot of fun.
Hi Pete, another winter Farmall major video, love them. I was here last year when you did the front end overhaul and really liked it to. I’m all aboard for this adventure too Pete. Let’s get to work.
So glad to see you get back into her after a year break... my OCD wont kick in from watching your videos next year since everything will be that nice bright red.
