Thank you for the followup. I had gone and tested it myself with mixed results. In green zone it worked, in dread zone it partly worked and in nightmare zone it worked again. I see now from watching your video that in the dread zone attempt it either didn't work because I didn't stay in the cloud or because I started shooting first before stepping in and so must've technically got hit before I went in or as I wandered out again. Thank you though. I pulled my first lethal legacy yesterday, albeit without the smoke OP.
This is positively insane :) But i really wish there were a comprehensive tutorial in the game that would give player and allow to explore various types of consumables. Maybe outside of regular game cycle, or in the form of missions etc.
That's a good idea!! The game already has a tutorial mission for Scentblock. Other complicated items like smoke grenades and bloater cloud grenades definitely need a tutorial mission!
@@StateofDecayScience yeah, but the problem with Scentblock type mission is that they give you a valuable consumable and OPTION to test it. I, personally, never used it when mission asked me to do - because Scentblock is incredibly hard to come by. I think the game should automatically "use" it (give buff without infection) or give player special Scentblock that has 10 uses, doesn't increase infection, but cannot be dropped or stashed, and will dissappear from inventory after mission has been completed. Fighting Plague Heart would be a good objective to use Scentblock, but there is a danger of abusing this mission by leaving the objective. Same for other useful consumables like mines and smoke grenades.
@@ImaWestie erm... FALSE!! Green Zone is too easy to motivate player to experiment - because there is no reason to test tools like mines or smoke grenades when you barely receive any damage and can kill Plague Hearts with just a couple of bullets and molotovs. And when you get to higher difficulties you don't experiment and stick to what you know because risk and punishment of failure is too high. So there is absolutely place where to fit proper tutorials.
Another great, informative video. Smoke grenades are pretty rare (the Police Armory in Meagher Vallery can produce them) but they're getting used now. The next revenge mission I get, I am definitely using these and hopefully it will help the survivor that is tagging along.
With Update 30, I am summoning in legacy pool members to my forever community in Meagher Valley and then sending them back with 6-8 smoke grenades. Thank you again RvidD.
Awesome. I usually just sell them bc they seem worthless. In my opinion, dealing with hostiles needs to be improved and there should be more ways to fight them. More specifically, we should be able to use zombies and freaks against them more efficiently. Stealth should be improved so that you can grab them from behind, take them out 1 by 1, or plant a boombox or mine in their base, for example. Maybe their can be an enclave radio call where a sniper will assist you while fighting them. Maybe there can be new items that attract specific freaks, and maybe hitting them with your car should be more effective. Right now, I will use a scent block and throw a zombait in their house, but the zombies never seem to attack them. I will have a feral chasing me in my car while driving past hostiles but they will never shift their focus on them. If anything at least improve the mechanics around using zombies and freaks as a weapon.
Your doing it wrong.. If you can get on thier building and drop a zombait anywhere on the roof. That way the zombies go Into the building. If you can't get on top park your car near and climb up on its roof, then crouch and then throw zombait in to thier base. When the hostiles surrounded by zombies throw in a bloate grenade. Whislt they are rolling around the zombies will kill them Usually quite quickly. You can also dose up on scent block,. But I've never had to in my. Play through.
@@waxrepine1298 I wouldn't go on top of the base but I would use scent block and throw zombait into their base while sitting behind a fence. Quite a few times zombies would run in and just not attack them. One time my scent block ran out and the entire mob rushed me. It was crazy.
@@waxrepine1298 not really, i think OP complained how zombie less aggro to npc human... like when i got mission to talk with enclave... the enclave in the house, the zombie around 3-5 meter from window... they did nothing, but when player come closer to the house, the zombie chase player instead... and the same about zombait, if player a bit far from enclave that swarmed with zombie, the zombie just standing around... circling the npc human.

Okay i just bought this game and ur guides is really helping me i was on dread and i thought i would get boons after i completed but now i just realize i need to play lethal to get boons and ur tips is really helping me on lethal zone. Do you know how many bullets it takes for juggernaut and should i shoot behind the head or the front
Hello, every time I try to open the supply locker in my home base or outposts my game will freeze and crash. This has only been happening since the most recent update, is anyone else having this issue?
Just a fyi * to all players almost every single rescue mission, and help someone clear a place, etc at the end click on them before they finish talking gotta be fast hit trade I grab what ever ruck sack I see u have to be that fast, even the red talon ones.
Iv done it and it didnt work well. During a lethal mission against a red talon ding dong I thought it was worth a shot. Well, I got shot... Lol and he didn't stop shooting at him me.
"do ppl really use smoke ?" No. Because they don't know about it. And that's what this video is for. Incendiaries are not really one of the safest options in the harder difficulties where they can insta down you.
Using hordes doesnt work well either. Hordes will not attack or do much to a hostile group. Takes the fun out of it. Oddly the game proves me wrong once in awhile and actually attacks them. all in all it pretty much makes a lethal gun fight against an enclave that much harder.
Thanks for testing this, I never had enough courage to potentially sacrifice a survivor to test this out

Nice👍 Thank you for sharing👍💛
Yooo, They gonna nerf the hell out of smoke now, I can feel it in my bones. Thanks for making video though, very enlightening.
Totally Possible!
Wow, thanks!
Thanks buddy
This balances out the humans tanking point blank headshots with no visible helmet.

Thank you! Totally doing this from now on with those pesky hostiles.
Wonder if undeadlabs will do something to change this
Wow. Never realized how effective that is.
Pretty effective in real life

can smoke grenades be produced? or just bought or looted?
Can only be made in the Rural Police Station - Meagher Vally
