I’ve said it before: GUERLAIN is neither “niche” nor “designer”. GUERLAIN is...well...GUERLAIN.
100% correct.
Haha awesome opening great work brother keep up the good vids
I freaking love these new intros. 🥳👍😊 keep up the good work Dan👍
Great picks!! I am blessed to own 4 of these (missing Habit Rouge and Eau de Guerlain)
Vetiver EDT and Heritage EDT are two of my absolute favorite freshies. Heritage in particular has a wonderful sweet-spice character to it that my wife and I both find so appealing!
Love Vetiver but it’s definitely something I had to come around to. Now I love putting it on on a cool fall day when I’m off from my busy work schedule. Love the tobacco in here and it’s pairing with the vetiver. Yes it’s dated but I find it comforting and a nice change from all the tooth rotting sweet cologne they put out today. I must say I’m beginning to enjoy my more mature fragrances as I too am getting older. I keep this on the shelf with invasion/ Boise du Portugal/ incident diplomatique and royal oud and of course your masterpieces as well Dan. Hoping for a follow up to you impressive line.
Love this Dan. One of the best houses out there. I love Vetiver and also Ideal but unfortunately don’t have the cologne version yet. Will need to try.
Thanks a lot Jeannie!
Top shelf review! Guerlain has many hidden gems.
Thank you!
the montage is insane :)))))
Absolutely no doubt about it Guerlain is a maker of quality fragrances, I've got quite a few bottles myself, also I've bought a lot of their perfumes for the girlfriend, such as Shalimar,
L'Instant Magic, Bois d’Arménie,
definitely up there with Chanel, in most cases better.
I agree Paulie!
Good points well made. Wonderful fragrance house who beat Creed for price and quality every time.
Very nice tie and jacket combo today. Classy but just a bit edgy, well done.
Thank you Jean.
Great video and I enjoyed it and I like Guerlain Vetiver and I give it a 9 out of 10 and I'm going to try the rest of the house and have a blessed night
DAAAAAAAAAAN , I thought that intro would never end. Ears bleeding . Great review mate
I've collected a number of fine fragrances from this notable house, and enjoy them all for different reasons. Heritage to Shalimar, Habit Rouge to Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune, Vetiver to Mouchoir de Monsieur, L'Iinstant de Guerlain Eau Extreme to Guerlain Homme, Homme L'Eau and L'Eau Boisee. This house has created many wonderful, even masterpiece, scents. But my favorite of all has to be Coriolan. Seldom talked about, it is very masculine and classy. And the bottle design is one of the best I've ever run across. I'm very happy with my ever-growing collection of Guerlains.
L.i..d.g.e and Heritage are on the to buy list in the near future. I love my Habit Rouge EDT, great Frag. I have the Vetiver Extreme which I find creamier than the standard version. Think I'll definitely have to try Eau Dr Guerlain as well now based on your review. Luckily I have 3 bottles of I'Deal Cologne seen as it's discontinued. All Guerlain Frags are absolutely belting for the money and I totally agree they are as good if not better than either Chanel or Dior frags.👍👍
Guerlain is one of my two favorite mainstream fragrance brands, along with Bvlgari. Another line from Guerlain that not everyone talks about is Homme, which is a grassy/woodsy lime fragrance. EDP is sweeter and boozier, and L’Eau Boiseé is drier and more woodsy. I personally own L’Eau Boiseé, and it’s a fantastic woody aromatic.
Thanks Chi-Town
I wouldn't call them a mainstream brand
Guerlain still does it well, even as part of LVMH. Heritage is a compelling fragrance for me. At times linear and subtle, then all of the sudden complex. I smell Shalimar at times.
Vetiver is one of my all time favorites. It holds up to any modern perfumery. Habit Rouge is gorgeous as well. There’s a reason they’ve been around such a long time.
New to Guerlain house, I am absolutely blown away by Santal Royal & Ideal, with definitely be trying more
guerlain, my all time favourite ❤️
I've got the whole ideal line.
habit rouge, l'instant and heritage. both EDT and EDP.
Vetiver, vetiver extreme, Homme and l'eau boisee.
I've even got shalimar and samsara in my collection.
if only I could find LIDG and LIDGE 😩
Wonderful house, and well worth stopping by their corner of the department store to smell all of these. I'd also check out the Aqua Allegoria line which runs under a hundred bucks US. They are unisex fruity florals that I find great at the end of the day after a shower, or perhaps weekend mornings. They are not "gentlemanly" but do brighten up the world, and I find very calming scents.
Thanks Mark. I agree the Aqua line are lovely too.
Vetiver is the only Guerlain fragrance I have - but I did buy 200ml.....so I have a lot of it.
I personally love it - to me a great office scent, or smart lunch date sort of thing (especially in spring, summer or autumn) - thought its a relatively recent purchase & I haven't used as much as I would like yet.
I have L'Instant De Guerlain EDP, and love it. I wonder what the difference is between that and the EDT.
Heritage (EDTA’s/edp and are my top two favorite in general.
After those, Vetiver, Leau Boise, LiDG edt, followed by Hanit Rouge. In fact those are all I own for now with Homme edp next
Hi. Have you ever reviewed Costume National Scents ?
All those are great works of art. My favourite ones are LIDG EDP and Habit Rouge. Also Habit Rouge L'Eau is great (slightly aquatic and more modern than the classic). I also do like Vetiver but not so much Vetiver Extreme. Heritage is a very complex masterpiece. I have an EDP sample. In the opening it reminds me of mature successfull company owner. In the mid it's a jump centuries back - totally smells like old wooden statues and benches in centuries old churches. The far drydown however lets me down - to me it smells dry and powdery like an old lady fragrance.
Don't know how the EDT smells in this regard.
But the LIDG EDP and Habit Rouge (EDT, EDP) are my absolute loves. Guerlain is really a great house. Much more interesting than Chanel or Dior.
Love Guerlain habit rouge lidge and vetiver extreme are my go to’s
Fantastic video
Thank you!
Own 3 of the 6. Heritage, Vetiver, Habit. Guerlain is one of the best in the industry. Highly underrated for a house that started in 1828.
Thanks John. Guerlain is amazing.
Love the opening it made me laugh .
Mr. Smelly, where did you buy L"Homme Ideal Cologne?
nice to see L'Instant make an appearance. It's a discrete joy. Obviously, Guerlain have standardised bottle design, but the original was a thing of beauty with a could-do-better plastic cap. it's one I wear just for me.
Habit Rouge is my favorite, so good. Add Vetiver, Encre Noire, Azzaro Intense, Versace L'Homme top 5. I need a blue, so either Versace or probably Acqua Essenziale Blu. Bentley Infinite Intense, Issey Miyake OG, Hanae Mori HiM, and something for summer. My heart doesn't allow me ventures outside but still, sitting in solarium with a ceiling fan going and a pitcher of margaritas, I would need a freshie...on the cheap, as you can see. Acqua Essenziale Colonia perhaps.
That's a solid 10 built inexpensively...or Mr Smelley could just send me one each Guerlain!
Encre Noir is indeed some deft perfumery.
I like your selection, I think that for someone that have problems to accept Guerlain Vetiver they can try (if they can find it because has been discontinued) Guerlain Vetiver Eau Glacee also known as Frozen Fragrance, to me is one of the most easy to accept vetiver fragrances, sparking and refreshing and with very good longevity for an EDT, I just love it, one that I think you should have added is Guerlain Homme EDP Intense that is the name of the vintage but currently there is a new incarnation from 2016 Guerlain Homme EDP, the formula is a bit different but still good.
Thank you so much Fernando!
Love Heritage EDT, just bought a backup vintage bottle. Got a vintage LIDGE as well, but sadly the top notes were a bit spoiled. Solid dry down after 10min, but I usually get out off by the spoiled top notes. I wish they kept the same bottle design they used to have for both, the old bottles are so cool/classy. The new generic bottle...well, it's just that.
Thanks for the comment. Yes the old bottles were more fun.
My favorites are L'Instant, Heritage, L'HOMME IDEAL, Vetiver.
Are the bee bottles collectable?
I really like your appreciation for the classics.
#MakeVintageScentsGreatAgain !!!
Thank you so much Sergio. I really appreciate the support.
Just before Christmas, I decided to do a personal "Top 6 I Can't Live Without" from my collection. I tried to do a top 5 but just had to have the 6. There are two Guerlains on my list: L'Instant de Guerlain EDT and Habit Rouge EDT. If I had to choose just one for the rest of my life Habit Rouge would probably be it. It's never been out of my rotation in over 30 years. BTW, the other 4 that make up the top 6 are: Chanel - Pour Monsieur, Creed - Green Irish Tweed, Creed - Aventus and Dior - Eau Sauvage.
How Guerlain manages to produce such superb quality at such reasonable prices is a mystery. Maybe it says how much Creed perfumes are overpriced?
Creed is overpriced without a doubt. Especially for the performance you get now.
CREED may be overpriced nowadays, and the overall quality has definitely been dwindling over the years, but just think of the House pedigree and all the famous historical figures who have worn CREED scents: Adam and Eve, Noah, Heracles and Theseus, Andromeda, Odin, Thor, Freya, Asterix and Obelix, Cleopatra, Alexander the Great, Odysseus and Penelope, Agamemnon and Clytemnestra , Achilles and Patroclus, Menelaus, Paris, and Helen of Troy, Melchizedek, Nebuchadnezzar, Tutankhamen, Ramses II, Tuthmosis III, Shaka Zulu, Jesus Christ, Pontius Pilate, Sherlock Holmes, Tin-Tin, Poirot- the list goes on and on...
More men should wear Shalimar! Everybody should try Mitsouko. Everybody should try Jicky.
At least one of the Eau de fragrances should be in everyone’s fragrance wardrobe.
I agree Catherine. Shalimar might just be the most perfect scent ever. Jicky has been going since the late 1800s I believe. My mom wore L’heure Bleu.
So lovely and old-fashioned.
Intro was hilarious
Wow, looking very handsome and stylish Dan 👌 interesting review, thnx!!!
Thank you!
Just my opinion/taste here but I really don't like Vetiver or Habit Rouge (which smells like something my Nan would have worn). Homme EDP and a couple of the Ideal line are my favourites, although L'instant is a good one too.
Try L'Homme Ideal Edp...is great.
My favorite Guerlain masculine is THE reference Vetiver, Guerlain Vetiver. I don't see it as "austere", but rather "old school" with a slight, and I mean slight, animalis vibe that lends that 1959 classic DNA. But not austere. Austere to me would be Floris No. 89, or Creed Tabarome, or Givenchy Gentleman EDT 1974. I don't particularly like any of those. Too austere. Guerlain Vetiver is absolutely beautiful. Think Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, which used the Guerlain as its inspiration, except with the added classic accord.
Second is Heritage, which I see as a Fougere-like fragrance with an added herb and spice element that imparts a memory chest full of memorabilia. Hence the name Heritage. It, by accident, is a better Whispers in the Library than the Maison Martin Margiela Replica fragrance of that name is. And Heritage is closer in DNA to Ralph Lauren Safari and YSL Jazz than Givenchy Gentleman EDT 1974, certainly.
I have Guerlain Eau de Cologne Imperiale, which I guess is the historic 1853 simple citrus cologne. The bee bottle is nice. I guess we can trust Guerlain's history more than, say, Creed's.
I am learning to like Habit Rouge as time passes, mainly due to the historical context being essentially a masculinized Shalimar.
I like the more modern L'Instant also.
Never tried Derby, Le Frenchy or any of that line.
Heritage is a winner for sure.
Im almost 18 and i realy enjoy Acqua di Parma Colonia Esenza, should i get it? Or is it more for older guys?
Go for it. If you’re asking, you’re old enough. Enjoy!
@@joemaliga16 i got it few days ago, smells heavenly. Its masculine and more mature smell. I love it
Thanx to you it's now over 90 dollars thanx a bunch Dan . L'Instant isn't even available like it use to be
1. Heritage (Gold cap vintage EDT, silver cap vintage EDT, EDP "Listerine" bottle.)
2. Vetiver
3. Derby
4. L'Instant de Guerlain
5. L'homme Ideal L'Intense
6. Habit Rouge
7. Mouchoir de Monsieur
HAPPY WEDNESDAY.
You too Marcial!
Habit Rouge edp is my jam! It does clash with chanel’s Pour Monsieur edp for me as I find they both serve the same purpose scent-wise.
Interesting observation
Opening hilarious as F#"k... 😂
We need more Jeremy intros 😂😂😂
Thanks!
Truly wish Guerlain would do a bitter orange flanker of L'homme Ideal with some nice green touches from petitgrain, a touch of ginger and replacing some of that tonka with a light handed benzoin. Call it L'homme Ideal Crisp. The orange juice of champions. 😆
Dano. I just started this and I pissing my pants. 👍👍
I came to hear your opinion on Guerlain perfumes and instead I got my eyes burned with that Jeremy crap…WHY???
The intro was weird lol
L instant edt top du top
Eating ice cubes in that manner isn't good for your teeth!
Habit rouge is not named after coats or so.... it is a persistent habit for sex!
Jeremy is ready to invade Poland.
Still trying to get his leg over with demi

Wtf with the intros feat. other yt's?
Great job and enjoyed your review. Love a lot of Guerlains but the Vetiver is just awful. I think you would clear a room and make a lot of enemies wearing this. Roja Vetiver is honestly way better and non offensive. Heritage is fantastic.
Oh lord I haven't watched Jeremy Fragrance in years I forgot how over the top he is, yikes. Didn't he find Jesus and renounce his gayness? I mean what ever works for you Jeremy is fine with me.
What? Jeremy's gay? I don't know why, but I always imagined him to be a rampant hetero.
@@neila7144 no he used to be bi; he literally made and posted a since-deleted video called "my gay past"
@@elihollingsworth6852 As they say Eli, Bi today, Gay tomorrow!
@@neila7144 well in his case, it was bi yesterday and straight yoday
@@elihollingsworth6852 Are you serious about this video?
Jeremy has his own successful brand AND all his hair. You have this.
Haha true !! Thanks Charlie. I love Jeremy by the way.
Are you in love with Jeremy or something?
I don't want to be rude or hurt your feelings in any way, but your pronounciation of French is a mess. Ever thought of taking up some sort of basic classes French?
Content is as always top!
