  • We would never fire our children or suspend our parents-so why do we readily adopt that practice when it comes to managing employees in the business sector?
For Simon Sinek, motivation speaker and author of Start With Why and Leaders Eat Last, leadership is paramount to business success. And through his work consulting with companies around the world, Sinek has found that part of being a great leader comes down to a simple, yet effective practice: treating employees like family.

I love hearing Simon speak. "We now think that we can solve problems with intensity. It is consistency that cause problems and it is consistency that fixes problems"

incredible insight. I think looking at leadership as being a parent is a resplendent view on leading in any organization profit or non profit. Caring for those under your care creates influence not a title postion.

There is no better user of the metaphor than Mr Sinek. Superbly articulated points that make total sense.

Excellent talk and so true. I like the analogy of leadership vs. authority, and intensity vs. consistency.

It is true: Leadership and Parenting are more less the same, which unfortunately, our contemporary leaders seldom practise, leavening their followers in a state of orphanage.
