Order Raving Dahlia: smarturl.it/RavingDahlia Order vinyl & merch: sevdaliza.com/shop Written by Sevdaliza Produced by Sevdaliza & Mucky #ravingdahlia #human #robot
We should talk about the cover on these two albums. The album cover of Raving Dahlia shows an exaggerated representation of the perfect face/body that thousands of girls would kill to have. The Shabrang cover on the other hand, shows Sevdaliza with bruises caused by the hard things she's been through in her life and showing herself with a more human appearance, imperfect but yet so beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Raving Dahlia represents impossible perfection and high expectations society has on women. Edit: thanks for the likes
I see how her recent pregnancy adds into this as well, due to the changes the female body goes through in this period and how it's often a struggle to "bounce-back" after giving birth. Of course, there's a theme of celebrating creation and motherhood as well.
@@c67994 yes. It's like in this era she's trying to explain how you feel when you don't see your body as beautiful as people say you should see it. + Dahlia is (literally) a robot. She's just not a real woman but yet manages to portray what women "should" be. With this cover we can see what she really wants to portrait but we've all seen (on her Instagram) that she's a robot, not even real. This is just a great concept and I love it.

With this cover we can see what she really wants to portray but we've all seen (on her Instagram) that she's a robot, not even real. This is just a great concept and I love it. Now let's take a look into the tracklist. The fact that many of these songs are not even the style Sevdaliza has shown so far means that this is not even her, it's Dahlia, the robot. "Everything is everything" is clearly a song that was not made by sevdaliza but by Dahlia and we can hear that in her deconstructed/autotuned voice. Then she moves to the next song "great hope Design" where she starts saying "am I living? I'm not sure". It's like Dahlia is working and working to entertain us but Sevdaliza knows she's being replaced and that everything Dahlia has shown us is FAKE and plastic. Such as the cover and her voice in "everything is everything".
They are oftren not sevdaliza style from previous albums. But it' s soo good !! The thing that she experiments with do many diff styles and sounds- i can't stop listening. Its soo good
So new but still every sound is her own, chills. And after all those years the art is still shared with us for free. . Please, let's support Sevdaliza in every way we can ✨
I always perceived music as a reflecting glass, this glass doesn't show you yourself, but the reflection of your interior the way the artist behind that glass wanted you to see. The diversity of music and genres is like the diversity of paintings, and only our interpretation to it gives it a meaning inside of us: the painter draws his sadness, but you see yours. Sevdaliza's music paints flowers on my imperfections, she reminds me of my divine humanity, my divine femininity. I hear life in her music: a little child facing the world for the first time, an elderly gazing at the window on a rainy Sunday, a pregrenet woman feeling a little life blooming slowly inside of her... She takes the pure vibes of the life we normalized, translates it to music, and serves it on a plate, to remind listeners to look around, appreciate humanity and imperfectness. Sevdaliza is too good to be an main stream, her strength is her discrete, which transform her art to a secret garden only the chosen ones enter.
I see alot of "theories" about songs and the ep itself on social media so Id like to share my insight here. Ive been following these events for a while and Sevdaliza received alot of critique on things that empty society rules ask from us, but she did not meet. Like going out to the store and being critiqued on her casual clothing, her womanhood, her instagram posts got alot of people projecting their expectations she did not meet expecting her to be something she is not. And alot more. Therefore, here is the EP. Bunch of unfinished songs from different years and eras that were "not good enough" or did not meet the expectations for the current projects maybe, and tons of reasons, slapped together in the EP and released. Can very closely be compared to her going out to the store in casual clothes and all of the examples above. Dahlia was there to take all of the pressure of her and meet the expectations of those people brainwashed in society almost demanding her and everyone else to be a certain way. Dahlia finished the songs in a way "that others would expect it to be" (similar meaning expression used by Sevdaliza in one of her posts) without much stress and made an EP. Hopefully I put all of this to be understandable, there was alot in my head and I couldnt really express it well. Now about the EP itself, while some songs are really "simple" in concept or design, they all bear that magic only Sevdaliza has, no matter how "casual" they are, they deliver the magic that other music I heard in my life does not. I would really love to hear anything this person creates, no matter how "well done" and thought out it is, or not. She is an artist and there is no telling how far the magic can go. With each new thing she makes she probably changes someones life and perspectives in a great way. When times get really dark for me, I always remember Sevdaliza as my inspiration to keep going and if she was able to do all of this, I can also do my own thing as long as I keep going.
thank you so much my queen, i’ve been listening your music since 4 years ago, you’re a inspiration to me, maybe you don’t know how you help a lot of people with your music 💓 love from 🇲🇽
Sitting here stoned, listening to this album for the 8th night in a row and it's still like I'm listening to it for the first time. I hope Sev gets the flowers she deserves
“Everything is everything“ was surprisingly basic and commercial-sounding, definitely wasn’t expecting that from her. Whereas the track right after felt incredibly experimental and heavenly produced, kinda crazy how she goes from one extreme to the other
I can not fathom words to express how much i love your music. I hope someone makes a movie with gods and hire you to be a higher being in the movie and have a performance omg.... You are this ages fifth element blue diva... Thank you.
1. massive attack mezzanine + trent reznor ? 0:00 2. the xx 4:52 3. deadmau5 8:42 4. postmalone ragnbone man 13:50 5. some country? lol 19:11 6. blue foundation + some ? trap + autotune + a russian phrase? 22:31 frame it with arca & earthater eq effects/beats, salt and pepper for all the tracks and you've got a good 22' prod pop "not that special as those divas" ep
Lovin' this new EP; the stand-out for me though is 'The Great Hope Design', wonderfully dark sonicscapes that remind me of Gary Numan and Darktronica artists like Lorn and Rone. Keep smashin' through them walls, Sev 💜
Thank you Sev for sharing your kind words back in the early days, the incredible dichotomy of seeing you in the brick tunnel of ‘Heaven’ in London then in the towering walls of the museum there years later… seeing Rhode live the first time you played it on stage… thank you for every bit of what you’ve given so selflessly that’s been such a comfort and catalyst
love how she selflessly puts her full albums on youtube for everyone to enjoy. many musicians don't do that.
There is nothing special about that - people would still upload it, so it is better when musician does it before anyone
its because YT is paying musicians nowadays just like other streaming services.
@@volpemarroneveloce5928 not for videos likes this, they're not. they pay for the tracks on youtube music.
the mother just keeps giving
everyone musician does, what you saying?
I really like how FKA twigs and Sevdaliza have been experimenting with different genres recently.
That's crazy cuz I usually put FKA and Sev in the same breath like that, too
I know right?! It's amazing, they're both doing big thangz.
I think 2022 will be their year. 🔥💚🔥
I found them both at the same time years ago. They are still my favourites!!
I'm seeing both of them back to back this fall! So excited
@@YouCanCallMeChrys Tell Sev to stop only going to coastal cities bc a US tour is long overdue.

I just think it’s cute when men try to tell women what women are saying with their art… check your pants

"Everything is Everything" gave me a little treat of nostalgia from the 2010s Pop-Electronica era.
I love how she dipped into several different genres here and they all sound amazing! Human Flow is a definite fave
I love how she sounds in those joyful tracks, still true to her darkness, it feels sonically soft, like infinite, love you sev💖
Found her a few days ago, shes already one of my favorite artists
Been listening to her since '16. Her discog is a nice ride.
me too!
Welcome ❤️
the common sentiment we all share upon finding Sevda 🕋
So glad you finally found her 💎 Welcome 😁

I'm from Brazil and I discovered Sev by chance. And I'm in love with the sound she makes. And I love listening to her at work.
A masterpiece surely. Portishead vibes with experimental Radiohead elements but pure SEVDALIZA through and through.

I dreamed of going to your concert in Kyiv, but... Thank you your music is beautiful and helps to take your mind off scary thoughts. Peace to all!
Hope your ok 🙏
