    Good news everyone. RSD has renewed my discount code. So now you can get 5% of any bike, frame, or other item in their website using code "party." Note: sale items do not apply. Thanks Alex!

      Hey, I am thinking about buying a Specialized Chisel (XC hard tail) or a Specialized Fuse (trail hard tail) as they are similarly priced. I know the Chisel has slimmer tires and less travel compared to Fuse but I can't seem to find any UA-cam videos comparing how these bikes feel to the rider, fun factor, climbing ability etc. There are no mountains where I live so its mostly singletrack cross country type stuff with some moderate ups and downs and technical features. I already have a FS trail bike but I feel overbiked. Are you able to make video comparing these type of bikes that are somewhat similar? If not, any info would be appreciated.

    I once did the AES Big Friggin Loop on my Soma B-side Ssp w/ rigid fork. Broke my saddle rails off at about the creek crossing, rode another 50 mi to finish & only hated a couple of the trails.

    I am running that Sektor fork and it needs the max amount of volume spacers (2) in it or an MRP ramp control if you want to run it hard. Otherwise you bottom out of hucks and jumps

    Hey... i really appreciate your channel and videos that gives love to hardtails! I was wondering about your thoughts about my hardtail setup. I have a Cannondale trail 5 2018 model and i did a huge overhaul on my bike. I now have a Rockshox recon RL air fork, SRAM GX eagle drive train, shifter , cranks and DUB BB, PNW Rainier dropper post, and other minor changes like new grips and pedals. I’m also going to upgrade the stem to a shorter one and a wider handlebar. But the geometry of the head tube angle is 71 deg, and seat tube angle is 73 deg. Im wondering what my disadvantages or advantages of having these degrees will be for me?

    • @Rtist1929
      @Rtist1929 4 роки тому

      I also upgraded the tires to Maxxis DHF and DHR 29x2.3.

    Awesome riding Steve!! Your a beast. I'm so impressed with how well the 130 fork handled that trail.
    How do you think a 120 would do?

    • @hardtailparty
      @hardtailparty  4 роки тому +1

      Depends on how smooth you are. :) I think 120 would be fine, provided you were on an aggressive bike like the middle child or banshee paradox.

  • @matthewmosteller
    @matthewmosteller 4 роки тому

    Love your videos! Have you completely switched to medium size middlechild now? I’m 5’ 7” and inseam is 30”. I have 425mm reach on my full suspension size small and I feel like it is slightly cramped for me. I want to hopefully learn from someone else’s mistakes!

    Hello Steve, my steel bottom bracket shell has to cilinders glued to it and the threads are on these cilinders. I googled it but nothing. I have asked many people and nobody knows.

    • @hardtailparty
      @hardtailparty  4 роки тому

      I don't understand the question. Sounds like you have a carbon frame

    • @아우빠
      @아우빠 4 роки тому

      @@hardtailparty Ah sorry. I have a steel frame. The bottom bracket has no threads and it's thin. I has like two threaded "rings" to which the bottom bracket is threaded. I suspect it's a way to cut expenses and I worry such a thin bottom bracket might not last too long (and I bought steel hoping it would last longer in time)

    I forgot to mention that if you aren't running 29" wheels on your single speed, you should. The increased wheel size will help you gain more momentum and hold it while you're attacking steeper climbs. You'll get up the steep climbs with more practice. Guaranteed.

    • @hardtailparty
      @hardtailparty  4 роки тому +1

      I've tried both 29 and 27.5+ on my singlespeed. I prefer the plus tires for sedona riding.
