If anyone was wondering.....
The dish is called cream cheese garlic bread and it is delicious. I had it quite a few times while deployed to Camp Humphreys.
* The recipe I am providing yields approximately 6 Rolls *
You will need:
A large mixing Bowl
Measuring spoons/cups
Parchment paper
A baking sheet that can accommodate six 5 inch rolls (I use french rolls because that is what I like, feel free to us what ever kind of crusty type rolls you prefer, or experiment with different types. I find crusty rolls absorb the garlic butter better)
A nice Whisk
A piping bag ( I use a large gallon ziploc bag because I do not own a piping bag)
A double boiler/bain-marie, or just a pot you can put over another pot of boiling water if you do not own a double boiler.
For the cream cheese filling:
8 ounce cream cheese , softened
¼ cup granulated sugar
For the garlic butter:
1 cup unsalted butter , melted (or 2 sticks)
½ cup whole milk (or half & half)
2 Tablespoon granulated sugar
2 Tablespoon garlic , minced (or to your preference)
1½ Tablespoon dry parsley flakes (or to your preference)
2 large egg
Kosher salt (for sprinkling)
For the cream cheese filling:
Combine the softened cream cheese and sugar in a mixing bowl. Whisk the cream cheese until smooth and the sugar is incorporated. Transfer the cream cheese filling to a pipping bag or ZipLoc bag and set aside until needed.
For the garlic butter:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for the garlic butter until completely smooth. Heat the mixture over a double boiler/bain-marie, or a pot of water with simmering water until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is warm and very fluid. Make sure to whisk the mixture constantly and DO NOT overheat, or the eggs may scramble. Keep the garlic butter warm until needed.
You can heat up the garlic butter using the microwave if you like. Just make sure to use a glass bowl and to heat the mixture in short increments.
To assemble the Korean cream cheese garlic bread:
Preheat your oven to 400°F.
Cut each bread roll into 6 or 8 equal wedges ( I found 6 works better than 8 ). Make sure to NOT completely cut through the bread. You want the bread to stay intact.
After the bread has been cut, pipe a rope of the cream cheese filling in between each wedge. Be careful not to break the wedges.
Once the bread has been filled with cream cheese, dip the entire roll into your garlic garlic butter. Make sure the garlic butter coats in between the wedges as well. Hold the roll upside down to let excess garlic butter drain. Repeat with all the rolls and arrange them back on a parchment lined pan.
Pipe the remaining cream cheese filling in the center of each roll and sprinkle a pinch of kosher salt on each roll also (if you desire). Bake the rolls for about 8-10 minutes, until they are crispy. Check the rolls half way through cooking to make sure they do not get too dark. No one likes burnt bread and different altitudes yield varying results when it comes to baking/cooking times.
Let the bread cool for a few minutes and enjoy!
Thank You!!!
If I don't have a nice whisk will this still work?
Your my hero ❤ 🙌 ♥
Bless
Is it weird to say I love you to a random person on the internet only because they gave me recipe for food? Yes

Amazing sound.
That sounded like the stalest bread that ever staled.

The use of eggs in the Korean street food are the equivalent of Gordon Ramsay using olive oil.
Tbh at this point I think the use of egg to us Asians are the equivalent of human needing water
@@justarandomweeb8953 I'd love to have eggs that often
@@adrianblade5145 me too lol I take at least 2 everday don't mind me I'm from the slit eyed community
I had no idea Koreans used eggs so much. I always probably stupidly assumed that Asian countries didn't consume as much dairy as Western countries.
@@bnanaaasbrown9529 eggs arent concidered dairy though. And many asians are lactose intolerant - which would reduce dairy consumption significantly.
I have romantic feelings for this garlic bread.

"How much cream cheese garlic do you want on your bread?"

Never imagined an Asian cuisine could appreciate butter this much.
They dont, this is clearly influenced from outside their norm.
Or cream cheese.
You gotta check out our Ang butter baguette. Just slabs of butter in there.
@@lht.3352 I was thinking that too. Butter would just melt, but that rosette on the bread stayed very well
@@gulsenunal7585 exactly. At first I thought it was butter but when it didn’t melt in the oven I concluded it must be cream cheese.

How do the Koreans stay so thin with food like this?! Looks so good and I watch these videos high 😂
Será porque no comen salado y se ejercitan.
It will be because they do not eat salty and exercise
I think this recent. You can measure the rates in a few years.
@@SkySweetie Yeah. They’re increasing as it is.
They actually go outside.
Everyone is different. Korea isn’t a monolith.
Why do I insist on watching these videos knowing full well that I’m on a diet and I need to go to sleep
This is so me atm
Why is this so calming to watch?!?!
To the people asking about how koreans stay skinny. Firstly, don't make sweeping generalizations and maybe visit korea before making assumptions. I live with my husband in korea and I can tell you that not everyone is skinny here. Secondly, this kind of food wasn't popular until very recently in Korea. Koreans are still thin because they've been eating mainly traditional foods up until now but with fast foods, carbs and fatty, processed foods becoming more prevalent, their average weight is bound to skyrocket. Give it a couple of years and then come back.
They don't really know what they're getting themselves into with this stuff.... It's a faaarrr cry from the natural healthiness of traditional korean food that they're used to.
Thanks, we needed this clarification. It was impossible to understand prior to your explanation.
Korea is very westernized now
traditional up until 2021? LOL don't make us laugh
Ok?
The aesthetics of everything on the other side of the world is amazing. Our thing is like grease and cheese
Um this is cream cheese butter garlic bread... which is literally cheese and grease 💀💀💀 this isn't traditional korean food, it's imported from the west
@@raynpark6166 yeah but can you see the grease? We dont put cream cheese on anything but like cake frosting for red velvet or carrot cake, bagels and maybe stuffed peppers or something. Cream cheese is not like cheddar or American cheese
@@Homeside301 yes, i see the grease, this bread is literally submerged in butter, lol.

My feed is flooded with Korean food and so far I am very happy with every video I have watched 😋🤤
The sound of the crust is what makes it so delicious. Crunchy crust = Delicious dessert.
@Jack Frost It's actually about 700 calories. Way less than a McDonald's burger!
@Jerrin Abraham for me.. it's a dessert may be not for you. Lmaooo
Just because it does not look like a "dessert" you know, it does not mean it is not a dessert. You should probably "think" before you comment and think about different kinds of people's perceptions about food. Typical cancer in the society.
@@yowaimo915 I reckon its both actually! The sweet cream cheese takes this into a sweet, salty, savoury mash up. I have made my own at home, its HEAVENLY!
