What I can say after the various test videos - I think the AMFLOW is brilliant - if it can keep all this in practice (not in the various tests on UA-cam) ;-) What annoys me about my previous bikes (Levo, Trek Rail and now Rotwild R.E375) is the unreliability of the Brose in the Levo and the volume of the Bosch and EP8 (rattling on the downhill and the volume of the motor under full load on the uphill). From the test videos so far, I could “hear” that DJI / AMFLOW are doing better - that would be the most important thing for me alongside the power and software features.

Few years earlier, i would never consider an e mountain bike, but now I'm getting older and my joints and back hurts more after every ride, I'm seriously considering one. Plus, e bikes and its relative technology and reliability has come a long way since the early days. This amflow would be on my shortlist. I've seen many none e bikes costing 5k or more, so the asking price for the base model of 6k seems "reasonable". I thought the views were excellent for this extreme test, steve
Steve... after recently breaking a rib when landing on a very small but pointed rock I cannot highly enough recommend that you, and anyone else, wear a bit of protection, espepcially when riding over millions of small pointed rocks! The pain and frustration you can avoid can't be overstated I swear. I never knew what a drag this type of fracture gives one. Especially since you're not 24 anymore. (I'm almost 69).
I had a Rotwild RE750 Pro and now a Rotwild RX375 with a 85Nm Shimano motor. The weight difference is about 3kg, but it feels like 5-6kg.(23kg vs 20kg) Manuals is just so easy, even if the RX is 29/29 and the RE vas mullet. 20kg with that power and range is pretty incredible.
Magnificent scenery, beautiful bike, it’s good to see the new kid on the block leapfrogging everyone. What a great rock ride up the river, all beautiful, love it thanks! 👍
Saw the Don on his at Coed y Brenin, both did the same trail, Tarw du and used the same amount of battery, me using Bosch performance CX with a 750wh battery. My bike weighs 26kg though and guessing the Don was way quicker😂 to me the bike ticks the boxes of what I’ve come to realise I want out of an ebike! Power, lite weight and quick charging, I can change batteries in a minute but it’s extra weight on the bike and stuff I have to bring if I can charge it quick you don’t need another battery. Think the Don charged his back to full in half an hour from 60%!🤯 I’ll be getting one next year!👍🏻
Very promising for future EMTBs. Faster, lighter, stronger and hopefully cheaper. I’d like to have more EMTBs like this one with an AL frame. Thanks for the ride report. It’s like watching a BBC documentary!
They really have knocked it out the park and this surely will be where e-bikes will be heading as the full fat and lightweight category merge over the next couple of years, the only question left for DJI is reliability?, what shocks me the most though is the terrain Steve is riding and he has no pads not even gloves, absolute header 😂
The chinbar stops him seeing the details required for Steve's kind of riding! We've seen him ride some crazy terrain without a lot of protection 😅 Just down to what you're comfortable with at the end of the day

Awesome bike and Steve proved it can take the beating on enduro trails...however, I would definitely pick a longer travel version of the bike!
Just got a DJI drone and very impressed = suspect this bike rocks and want one, grew up in trek and like the support for first e-bike, however also like that 120 torque figure… dude….
I have been semi in the market for an e-bike. I have hesitated since the full power ones weigh 25+KGs. I road my brother’s yeti e-bike and it is as a tank. I don’t want a bike that heavy for the riding I do. I had been thinking maybe an SL would work but I was unsure of range and if the power would be enough. Enter the Amflow. Light as an SL, same power or more as a full power. Seems like the handling is dialed as well. The travel is perfect for me and 29” is nearly mandatory around here. Just need to get it in dealers!
Thanks for the test. You definitely took the Amflow bike to difficult terrain and pushed it hard. Let's hope the reliability of the motor is still there after a couple of years of pushing hard. For my next bike, I want this sort of motor strength, and a modern battery in a proper enduro-style MTB like this one, coupled together with a strong, light internal gearbox. Wouldn't it be great if DJI were to develop an MGU like the Pinion one? Then you could go mountaineering without the fear of snapping off a derailleur.
I'm not interested in dry testing. They all work well there! Get into the bogs & mud we ride in the UK winter for 3 months then do a review. Also what's the warranty & dealer servicing like? All the important stuff get no mention!

Steve, that was truly an epic ride! You tested the new Amflow eMTB in the stunning Italian landscape. From the moment you got on the bike, you knew this was going to be something special. The Italian mountain trails gave you the perfect mix of technical challenges and breathtaking views. The steep climbs tested you at first, but the Amflow handled it effortlessly, and once you reached the top, you were rewarded with an unforgettable, adrenaline-filled descent through natural trails. Riding terrain like that on such a powerful bike was pure joy - the feeling of strength beneath your feet as you tackled every root, rock, and turn was incredible. The scenery around you, with majestic mountains and blue skies, made the experience even more unforgettable. Steve, this Italian adventure is surely one to remember. The Amflow allowed you to truly feel the power of an eMTB on a whole new level.😀
Looks like Amflow/DJI have knocked Specialized off the top spot as to who has the best marketing department!😂 That said, a great video, I cant recall seeing an EMBN video showing EMTB going up and over such difficult terrain! 👍
@@PeakTorque yeh I’ve gone for the base model, I’ve been told from a good source that it’s the best one to go for as the carbon rims on the top model are too stiff
I've just picked up the base silver model Wednesday. It's flipping awesome pal. Going to swap out a few parts for personal preference but just buy one whilst you can. It's worthy of the Hype 👍😀👍👌
I’m interested to hear about the internals of this motor. You stated it had composite gears I believe? How does this compare to the internals in the other motors (Shimano, Bosch etc.). Is there longevity issues here with cold temps and moisture? A fantastic video guys!! Thanks for the great content 👍
Great video Steve! I'm very much waiting for the Gen4 Levo as i'm a big fan of Specialized(i have a Gen3 what i like pretty much)but this bike has everting i would expect from the next gen Levo. I hope Specialized will make a big step and won't loose me as a customer. Can i ask you about the location of the mountain where you made this video?
The Concept of the bike is brilliant and weight does make a difference, still say power not everything it motor Delivery, software, Finally love it but cant afford it.
Wow what a great filming location. I feel Brose and Bosch are just about to catch up in October and the bikes will be better value. This Amflow is amazing but the top end should be the price of the low end version. You’ll pay extra for being an early adopter. This bike should be £6k. Lastly there was no mention of dealer support, something Bosch excels and will be very hard to beat.
@@vidibites base mech ftw with that much power you know there gunna be a serviceable item, I’ve got some factory 38’s and a dhx2 rear shock from a snapped frame I can donate, also some wheels if they fail the only thing that’s I’ll miss is that colourway on the pro 😍
@@sadphil01i saw your other comment and its spot on Whata their global supply chain look like? Not just mechanical issues but how is their software tech? Sure they have drones but they arent perfect either. Distribution and service? Can the motor even be serviced
For a new to the EMTB market, the AMFlow are boxing well above their weight (literally), a superb frame design matched with an excellent motor, tech and components - if I had the money (not), I would swap out against my Levo any day - the elephant still in the room which I wish you would point out Steve following the many recent all singing appraisals both from EMBN and GMBN, is your vested interest in this having spent a lot of time developing the bike with AMFlow - a good move on their part but how about some honest transparency 😎
Great video as always, Steve - epic! What size frame did you ride here as a 6 footer (L with 475 reach or XL with 500 reach)? May I ask which frame size you would recommend for a 6 footer (1.83M) looking to ride far less extreme trails than this on the silver Amflow PL 800WH (not the Pro version you rode here)? The Amflow sizing charts suggest both L and XL for 6 foot height on both options.
One thing to take into consideration is Amflow is not answering questions ATM re support, dealers, where to buy. If you bought a bike and it needed warranty I'd be shit scared.!
1st. Amazing bike and testing in very rugged terrain. Superb production! 2nd. Where in the US are these going to be sold? I get this is amazing but when it needs service and or parts will the support be there?
the advertisers, sorry reviewers aren.t allowed to go off script and talk about that. frame is very generic likely ordered from a catalogue frame manufacturer like astro engineering. software wise there are literally millions of app developers that can knock up a pretty UI in a couple of hours.
I want one. I’m in the market for a new e-bike because I’m riding a 2020 Decoy, if I bought any other bike than the amflow now I think I would regret it. How easy is it to buy one of these? Where can I get one and when will they be available?
As a DJI drone owner, I won’t be surprised if this has the ability to pair with a DJI drone similar to how a skydio drone pairs with a beacon to track the subject.
no one has done a "review" what you are seeing plastered all over the internet are "advertisements" its a sad way to do it but it.s just how magazine and site's like embn pay the bills these days.
When are we gonna actually be able to buy these? And the Nicolai? A really leap forward is going to be when DJI copies the pinion motor gearbox unit so there’s some competition in that end of the market. I really like the centralization and the possibility of running a Gates belt drive.
Steve, you need to introduce DJI to Pinion, then we are looking at a game changer for the whole industry.DJI have the motor, battery and software covered and Pinion have a gearbox that is maintenance free and up to the job. Cassettes and chains that have not moved with the greater power that is being put through them are inadequate.
My understanding is that the max power output for a pedal assist ebike in the UK is 250w? Is the Amflow legal for use on UK roads, if not this would be very restrictive? Thanks for another great video. Peter
Frustrating that there are very limited options to sell e-bikes. With the values comparable to cars, why aren’t dealers offering trade ins? Now got three already cluttering up garage😂
Hi Steve, do you know why the Whyte E180 works is only available in the colours white/matt black? It’s really putting me off buying one. Thanks for all the great videos/info on this channel

Steve, this Italian adventure is surely one to remember. The Amflow allowed you to truly feel the power of an eMTB on a whole new level.😀
Amflow is killin it, it´s great, but going on that rocky terrain whith just a helmet as protection is quite risky.
@@McNulty030 he's got skillz
We don't know about the long term longevity of the DJI motor yet. And I don't fancy the looks of this bike. But great video, this scenery is stunning!
Hope you enjoyed some of our trails ❤
Can't wait to order one
Great video by the way🤟
Looks like Amflow/DJI have knocked Specialized off the top spot as to who has the best marketing department!😂 That said, a great video, I cant recall seeing an EMBN video showing EMTB going up and over such difficult terrain! 👍
I love your energy and work ethic but the one thing I always seem the miss in your video’s is a bit of negative criticism on the bikes.
Just watching the intro makes me want to go out and shred! Amflow looks A LOT like they got a Specialized bike under there. 🤔
Any independent testers out there bought one and given it a few hard months yet? Genuinely considering the base model.
That won't be possible, the AMFLOW has only been available for testers since Eurobike and you can only buy it in Germany from the end of October
Available in the UK from October too, in small numbers.
@@PeakTorque yeh I’ve gone for the base model, I’ve been told from a good source that it’s the best one to go for as the carbon rims on the top model are too stiff
2nd paid ad in 7 days on this channel. Not a review at all 😢
I've just picked up the base silver model Wednesday.
Thanks for the great content 👍
its a chinese bike so will likely have a motor that is some bafang variant. and god knows what for a battery.
Great looking bike too.
This changes the game now everyone has to catch up good for us the customer who buy these things and the price is realistic
The Concept of the bike is brilliant and weight does make a difference, still say power not everything it motor Delivery, software, Finally love it but cant afford it.
What size frame did Steve ride here, please? Epic footage and riding!
@@vidibites there lower spec bike still with fox 36 is £5999 and dealers are popping up all over?
@@wm05eb base GX mech, Base 36, base shock, etc… aluminium wheels
@@vidibites base mech ftw with that much power you know there gunna be a serviceable item, I’ve got some factory 38’s and a dhx2 rear shock from a snapped frame I can donate, also some wheels if they fail the only thing that’s I’ll miss is that colourway on the pro 😍
@@vidibites btw I’ve ordered one of the pov spec 🤣
@@wm05eb I guess we’re not all in that position. It’s an amazing bike don’t get me wrong I just think they’re bad value atm.
Drone Tech in the bike industry. Massive shakedown.
All the amazing design and technology is great. However, will it last multiple Welsh autumns, winters and springs without water ingress issues?
@@Kiwi-in-Wales yeah that's what I'm thinking. Test it in the UK winter bogs & rain 3 times a week for a couple of months then do a review.
@@sadphil01i saw your other comment and its spot on
Whata their global supply chain look like?
Not just mechanical issues but how is their software tech? Sure they have drones but they arent perfect either.
Distribution and service? Can the motor even be serviced
Now that is a proper motorcycle
Nah, bike. No throttle.
LBS are certainly going to scratch their heads on how to support this new motor.
I'm test riding one from a LBS in a few weeks when their demo bikes come in
1st. Amazing bike and testing in very rugged terrain. Superb production!
2nd. Where in the US are these going to be sold? I get this is amazing but when it needs service and or parts will the support be there?
Could you give some insight about durability, noise development and such on the amflow frame/ suspension/transmission as well as the avinox system?
the advertisers, sorry reviewers aren.t allowed to go off script and talk about that. frame is very generic likely ordered from a catalogue frame manufacturer like astro engineering. software wise there are literally millions of app developers that can knock up a pretty UI in a couple of hours.
I want one. I’m in the market for a new e-bike because I’m riding a 2020 Decoy, if I bought any other bike than the amflow now I think I would regret it. How easy is it to buy one of these? Where can I get one and when will they be available?
Nice video Steve as always, i don't want to put words in your mouth, but i got the impression that you were impressed with this bike??? :)
Steve is such a good rider. Like his uphill skills! The bike is also nice :)
I thought the future would be minus a rear derailleur
Great bike and review
Some still do! Time will tell!
As a DJI drone owner, I won’t be surprised if this has the ability to pair with a DJI drone similar to how a skydio drone pairs with a beacon to track the subject.
Wow, now that would be a cool update!
Hi Steve, what did you think if the rattle from the motor? The video was excellent!
Haven't you already done a review on this.....!!
Notice the AD logo in the corner of the thumbnail...
DJI has marketing budget that they are using
no one has done a "review" what you are seeing plastered all over the internet are "advertisements" its a sad way to do it but it.s just how magazine and site's like embn pay the bills these days.
Ah man, missed your adventures Steve, great cinema photography and story telling. Framing tech through myths, nice scripted Steve & team
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
When are we gonna actually be able to buy these? And the Nicolai? A really leap forward is going to be when DJI copies the pinion motor gearbox unit so there’s some competition in that end of the market. I really like the centralization and the possibility of running a Gates belt drive.
Would be awesome if they made mounting kits to be able to fit this motor and batteries into older Shimano fitted bikes like the Orbea Rise or others!
Game changer
Stick that motor and battery in the new Atherton alloy enduro bike and oh my days!
It would be interesting to do a range test vs Orbea Rise in RS+ mode to understand which of the two bikes is more efficient
You are the David Attenborough of embn/emtb… I always enjoy watching a listening to your UA-cams
Thanks!
Thanks so much! Glad you loved it 🤘
Steve, you need to introduce DJI to Pinion, then we are looking at a game changer for the whole industry.DJI have the motor, battery and software covered and Pinion have a gearbox that is maintenance free and up to the job. Cassettes and chains that have not moved with the greater power that is being put through them are inadequate.
What happens when a tooth breaks off inside the pinion? Where do you take it to fix it?
where did u film this ? it is awesome playgroud
The only thing better than three bikes is four bikes😂
@macejowski has a point 🤔
Canyon bike was a hit until the battery latch fiasco. So needs 6 mo testing too.
How does it stack up against the gen 4 levo
A lot more power and lighter.!
@@deanrwilson Gen 4 isn't released yet so that comparison isn't possible yet.
Sounds to me like they designed in a weighted flywheel to keep the momentum going much like a trails motorcycle.
Hi Steve, do you know why the Whyte E180 works is only available in the colours white/matt black? It’s really putting me off buying one. Thanks for all the great videos/info on this channel
Its an amazing bike by the looks of it… i have had the SL and Fuel EXe.
How is the motor drag on the AMFlow (Dji) motor when the motor is off or run out of battery?
It'll be my next bike
