CDL license needs to be separated from driving personal vehicle license…….they changing all these laws
Dude I totally agree, what you do on your personal time shouldn’t affect your CDL
We just want to walk and carry everything around on our backs lol 😂 💖💖💖 Poptart
Every situation is different. If you have enough capital you could even “self insure”. If you have decent shop, mechanic, extra trucks.
Only makes sense to lease if you want a fleet. Otherwise, it is way too expensive
Right 👍
The only thing that ever stopped me in my tracks was the broken fourth gear drum in my transmission. Can’t fix that in a truckstop parking lot.
The mega long bill was high because he did full maintenance, tires, drive shaft, and a few other things.
Folks, I’m not the brightest but I am pretty good with money. I have never seen in any case in any business or personal situation where leasing makes sense. If an accountant ever says these words…do it for the write off….run away and find a different CPA. Farmers get themselves into trouble by right when their equipment is about paid off they trade it all in and buy newer stuff and the cycle starts again. You are far better in that situation putting money into the older equipment. And no payment. Leasing, is just another way for the banks and finance companies to keep the money rolling in. Banks absolutely loathe people like me, because I refuse to pay them interest. That makes me happy.
Good point
If you need the write off it's cause you're so profitable that you need to either buy something to offset your gains or give that money to the Government, your choice; new rig vs giving money away
@@asheetuglasse unfortunately when the real math is done it doesn’t work. You go out and buy some new equipment, your at best best getting 35-40 cents back from the govt in taxes. I’d rather keep the 65 cents, thanks. Plus you have the benefit of no debt and no payments moving forward. The only time, when the numbers are really crunched, it makes sense to get newer equipment is when the equipment you currently own is truly at the end of its life span and can no longer be repaired and serviced. And even then it should be used that you are buying.
Now he’s right about that about the inter structure it’s not made for what we have now specially with me and the Chemical biz you’re looking at plants back in the 40s. They don’t wanna spend no money on any kind of upgrade. I’ll lose company starts spending money into their sales, which I don’t see that happens.💯😎
Hey Alex, is there a way to get in contact with you regarding hotshot trucking ? Questions about the industry
But there's more tax write off lease
I do appreciate calling out manufacturers for their bandaid engineering around emissions. Everyone knows they are coming. Why people are okay with manufacturers building junk system to comply with them.
Like you, but didn’t you always promote a lease, and had to go out of business? Think you can talk on this? I’m confused…
😂 good point
Always fun to see him speak as if he’s a SME on the subject and we all watched him crash and burn
Saw a boring channel, TYPICAL, "hot shot expert" w/ miniscule # of subs, expounding upon CDL vs non-CDL. If they can't do you tube like Alex, quit while behind .🗽🇺🇸💯
lol thanks Bill
Just buy a Edison Truck. It is a hybrid diesel/electric. Better fuel economy, engine runs at one speed. Because the diesel only charges the batteries you have a very long life for the on the engine. You have back up electrical motor to get you to a safe service place. And at least 100km of electrical range.
They have just started hybrid kit for 3/4 , and 1 ton trucks.
They claim no obsolescences. DEF EGR, and catylist will last a long time as there is no idling of diesel engine. These diesel generators are tuned for 1 rpm, constant load.
Also it is designed for future fuel. IE diesel, CNG, LNG, LPG. Just change the engine or head, out and fuel tanks, then your good for the future fuel. They can also grid charge the batteries.
J-brake is both electical motors power regeneration into batteries, as well as into electical generator which tries to speed diesel engine up. Diesel engine has an engine retarder to control the speed.
It seems to be a win-win in my books.
Typical engine cycle. Operator starts up for the day. He could select full battery, or diesel/hybrid. Then when battery voltage is down to about 30% generator recharges batteries up to operator setpoint ie 80%. Then truck could again use the batteries. So about 1/2 of the time truck is only working on batteries.
I know right
Video aged out you can buy 3 year old trucks now for 40k
True, but that doesn't take into account maintenance and break downs
Penski is God the only way to go
I thought this guy went bankrupt
Not quite. His insurance costs increased a lot. To point it was not practical with current rates. So he sold out before he went bankrupt. (Least I do not recall he went bankrupt.)
well thats what happens when you run a pickup truck business. Also your insurance should only increase that much if you have a bad CSA score. Something is off here. @@larrythompson8630
Didn't need to go bankrupt, the LLC is still active but I not longer have a carrier authority attached to it
Alex just buy another ram get back on the road you know you want to I miss the nonsense from you
Lots of fluff
Just get to the point
A guy trying tk defend leasing, who failed completely. I'll keep my 24 year old truck. You guys really need to look at real repair cost. Not to mention tow rarely fixed anything anyways and instead paid others. Learn basics and save thousands
Clown show
🤡🎪
✋️ stop giving advice to the people 😑
Umm something about freedom of speech…
I quit watching when either of them didn't know what FET tax was. How are you to do a podcast on such a topic without doing some research to find out what your talking about first? You need to provide solid information. You know Alex took this same approach when expanding his fleet. It is a classic failure called putting the cart before the horse. You were great at the impromptu vlogs but this show needs to be better planned.
Excellent feedback
Leasing is not more expensive if your comparing new trucks.
Older trucks are more reliable
@@cportpapi3054 Absolutely!
Furst
What hotshot and semi would you guys recommend (pre emissions) for someone starting out who's mechanically inclined?
good question
Not my area of expertise
Is this a Penske commercial
yes it is
