Indonesian Horticulturalists (High Elevation) Gorgeous Nursery Tour With Karen @floribundanursery

- In this episode, bu Karen graciously showed us around her residence, botanical backyard, as well as commercial operations. There are hundreds of species discussed in this episode along with their cultivation and care. Discover monster sized specimens of species we are familiar with as some of these plants are more than 15 years old! Her medinilla and succulent collection is absolutely outstanding. The commercial nursery at the later half of the video is my favorite, as we get to see how plants are grown by professionals. Floribundanursery is also a cut flower (and cut fern!) supplier, so we get to see some of these in cultivation as well!

Wow, She is a gem of a person and gardener.
Yes, and passionate about conservation, and the sustainability of plant market here.
Sean, this was a real treat. All the plants we baby and struggle to keep alive grow like “weeds” in her yard.
It was interesting to see the plants in their natural environment (wet and humid lol). This tour was fun to watch. I really enjoyed this.
Yup, that Dark Lord was stunning. I’m attempting to keep my cutting alive, lol. 😆
Thank you.

It's a wonderful garden tour.I enjoy very much.All the plants are beatiful.Thank you Sean🙏

The Poinsettia bloom is called a bract. The bloom will spot if water gets on it. The White Lace, Queen Ann’s Lace in the US is a weed, but also sold as cut flower. Love her place 💚💚💚💚 Sorry the Red Stem in US is called Poke Weed, some ppl eat the leaves but the mature berry is red/ purple will stain clothes that doesn’t come out. 😀

Incredible tour!
Thank you, Sean, great video, as always.
One little correction, on 32:58 the plant is not a Cryptanthus zonatus, it is Orthophytum gurkenii (the price is much higher than any cryptanthus), and if you don't have it yet I will highly recommend to get one.
Woooh I need to step up my bromeliaceae knowledge! Thank youu
WOW
Very beautiful as always.
Did you get the name for the lace flowers.
Unfortunately no 🥲
woah!!
Absolutely love these videos Sean
❤️
Justicia scheidweileri might be the name of one of the noid plants. Really wonderful tour, thanks so much! It is especially interesting since the mountain climate is just a little bit closer to the climate here in Southern California.
Saved to my wishlist haha
Might have a hard time growing in my hot tropical backyard though
Stunning 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Mam Karen is beautiful...
Yes she is 😀

Really I am so jealous about her. she leaves in a haven... its really haven... why people leaves in a concrete jungle :(
The grass is greener on the other side haha. Sometimes we want to be in concrete jungles… I miss Living in NYC so much 🥹🥹
Just Waowww for that Philodendron Dark Lord 😂😂
33:15 Gasteria batesiana
36:39 Xanthosoma albo marginata

37:39 I love variegated alocasia stingray but mine always be attacked by spidermites :(. I use furadan and sprayed pesticide but never work.
Oh yes spidermites love them so much!
💚🌿
3:50 That's actually 'Kopsia javanica', it's so unknown it doesn't even appear on Google/Wikipedia lol, the more popular one is kopsia fruticosa
Lol I couldnt google it either
edit, it's probably kopsia fruticosa but usually the flowers are thinner, this must be a nicer form👍
33:26 its a Gasteria batesiana!
Thank youu
@@onlyplants 😃👍
❤☘️
14:10 is that a crinum ? I mean ... Wow. I have one variety. I clearly have been sleeping on these beauties .
I live in a sub tropical region. I just bought a house . I'll be shopping for more crinums to enhance my landscape .
Omg I think it is. Crinum asiaticum I just googled. Thanks for shouting out the ID
@@onlyplants I did too. I ordered a bulb. They're not hardy to zone 8. 😭 They do grow easily in a container though.
Hello. What is the mountain high?
I dont quite understand the question 😅
satu frekuensi ama Bu Karen, bosenan, suka ganti2 tanaman tiap tahun, tapi bukan dibuang ya tanaman lamanya, tetep dipelihara tp di pot2 kecil dan dipindahtempatkan , sama suka2 tergantung mood kyawhahaha
😀😀
Where can we buy such kind of fern, which is like a tree?
A lot of tree ferns are endangered and protected now. It might be difficult to source them unless you are a botanical garden.
Sorry not cryptanthus it was an orthophytum
Yes 🙈
I want to go there and ask for a thousand cuttings
🙈🙈
lol my dark lord cutting is not even a foot high 😂
