It seems like a great spot in between the normal 1/10th scale speed and power to the larger scale big battery bashers. I had a great a time out there and it will get used a lot!
Thank you for stopping by and checking things out. I really like this buggy and it will be lots of fun! I am glad you enjoyed the video and the beard! Thank you
This is my 2nd favorite RC from Arrma and All time. Love this RC. I’ve owned 2 so far and will be on #3 soon. The Talion is my all time favorite RC though The regular and EXB versions
I have been impressed with the toughness of the ones I have so far and this is built like a tank! I am looking at maybe getting a Big Rock at some point. Those look fun and not overly large. I don't think I am going to go hog wild into the RTRs as I enjoy building too much but they are a ton of fun! Now that I have stepped up to the brushless line up I have the taste for some more speed!! They are tough kits I don't have to worry about and that is nice to just be able to mash the throttle and watch what happens!
Man that's a great track you made there, awesome job. I love my arrma cars not got a 3s typhon yet, but it's on the list. My 6s talion and outcast exb are my all time favourites. Brilliant rc's. Liked and subscribed. John
Thank John! The track is a little small for this one but it suits the 1/10 scale cars much better. This one needs a big 1/8 scale track to really stretch its legs and take advantage of all that power! I can't imagine running a 6s buggy!!
This happens to me all the time, lol. I always do in for something stupid and then boom. I walk out with a $700 bill and 2 kits in my hands. Awesome buy.
LOL! I try to put on the blinders and go in and get what I need and get out but this time the deal was too good to pass up! I don't think I could buy all the electronics in it for what I paid for it! I had a blast with it and it will be one to take out and bash around and not care about so the others can stay in good shape, it seems happy to take it!
It is a real ripper for sure! I could not pass up the deal they had on it! I had to ask Ed if he made a typo on the price! LOL! It really seemed to enjoy getting tossed around and tearing things up! It is a fun buggy for sure!
It was not what I expected to bring home but I am glad I did. It is built like a tank and I never gave any of the tumbles with it a second second thought! For the money I could not be happier! It was a ton f fun and one I don't care about scrapes and scratches, it was made for them!
I still have my Ofna Ravager, it is my last nitro that I have. I loved the power and speed but don't miss the mess! I looked at doing an electric conversion but the cost of the electronics along could buy another RTR! LOL! I do really like it and it is a ton of fun to drive. The instant wheelies were fun
What a tough looking beast💪😤. I didn't expect the mesh to keep it so clean, best one I've ever seen, great trick on how to make a good hole mate👍. The power wheelies were great and even on the green carpet in your track, awesome fun! 😁 Thanks for taking the time to share your video Addam👍🦘🇦🇺
It is not my normal type of RC but man is this thing fun! I couldn't pass up the deal on it and it was a blast ripping it around out there! The instant wheelies were a blast and the ones on the track were at the 50% setting! If you stabbed the throttle it takes off! It is going to be a great one to have to around to just take out and thrash around so I can leave all the others in good shape and just putter them around in the yard when I want to. From the first run of it I think it is more than happy to go out and get tossed around and tear up the yard!
@@AddamsPlayground Good to see you have a powerful buggy to have fun with mate. Our family has 4s Kraton and Outcast and they're beast even on 3s so we know how much fun you're having. Enjoy Addam👍
It was way too good to pass up! It is a little too much for the track on 3s but I am going stick a 2 s in there and I think that will help a lot to tame it down as it is a little on the large side for my smaller track. Off the track it is a absolute ripper and I love it on 3s!! I guess there is still a little tiny bit of the speed demon left in me!
Hey Addam, $2oo or less out the door is a fantastic deal. Just listening to your voice, you had a blast out there with the Typhon. The Dusty Cover works great to keep out the large mess from nature. Great addition to your collection, you surprised a few of your viewers with that purchase. Enjoy my friend, thank you for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍
Yeah this is not one of the normal kits I would get but the deal was too good to pass up! I did find the receipt and it was $210 after the coupon so it was a heck of a deal! I can see now why you love those big powered trucks so much! It is a rush to have all that power on tap! I have been looking at the Big Rock as a possible future purchase. I don't have the space for a giant 6 or 8s truck but that BR seems like a moderate sized one and I have seen it take a beating in a lot of videos so it may be my next step into the wild and crazy world of brushless bashers!
LOL, well this one like to roll over and take breaks it you turn to fast! Reminds me of those fainting goats... all is good and then bam.. on the ground not able to move! Once I got the feel for it it was much better but at first it was every other lap it went over!
It was too good of a deal to pass up! It really needs a bit more track but I think now that I have run it and now how it handles I will take it back out for a serious run and get some times with it! This was all just goofing off and slinging dirt around! It is really great at doing that!
Great first run with the Typhon Addam👍Its probably one of Arrmas best looking rigs in my opinion. I actually almost bought one myself last year. But now I am more in to the build yourself Kyoshos and Tamiyas rather than the RTR stuff. Anyway thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!🙂👍🇸🇪🇺🇸
It is outside of my normal type of RC but I do like these Arrma kits and they have proven to be super durable! This seems to be a good medium between the normal 1/10th scale stuff I normally build and run and the bigger, crazy big battery bashers! I like it!
Yeah I got really lucky with the great sale price and the coupon I had made it kind of a no brainer to grab it and give it a try. I am very impressed with it and it is a real rocket on 3s! A little too much for my little track but I am going to stick a 2s in it and see how it does. I think it will tame it down enough to be a lot of fun out there! It seems built much tougher the the 550 Mega trucks I have and those i was already impressed with!
It is built like a tank and I don't see me having any issues from it. I have two others, the Granite and the Senton, and both of them have proven to be tough as well. My shop is only about 20-30 minutes away but the mainly only carry the Traxxas and Arrma bashers as well as some crawlers. They have gotten a little better about carrying Tamiya and Kyosho kits but there may be one or two in there when I go versus the 120 other bashers in there! I still prefer to build the kits but a RTR is nice to get once in a while as it is nice to have something I am not really invested in to bash around and not worry about.
@@AddamsPlayground I also prefer to build the kits and that's especially important for the kids so they learn how these cars work. It is also harder to customize these RTR cars. My cousin says his young son can't break his Arrma.
Yeah I had to slow it down as it was way to hard to control the throttle ay 100% or even 75% on the track. It would be great for a 1/8th scale sized track and out there I am sure it would be awesome! It instantly wheelies in the grass at 100% and I tried to get a good speed pass on the road but it would not hook up past about 75% throttle! It was a fun run for sure!!
It is crazy how much power it has and it is a handful but I think with some more practice and actually trying to drive it well I can get some good laps out of it! I was having to much fun watching it sling the dirt out there!
Dude, I been looking at those for 2 years!!! Track is a bit small for that buggy but that makes it a challenge (I'm sure you can't hit full throttle for very long if at all). I know John has one, he seems to like it (or has something close to it). Great video Addam!!!!
Yeah it is a little much for the track, it was made for the smaller and slower 1/10th scale but with the power kicked back to 50% it was going around ok. I have to get some more wheel time with it but I think I can get some decent laps out of it. This was all for fun and I was having too much fun slinging the dirt around to worry about trying to be consistent! It is a really fun buggy and I am glad I went in for some paint!
It is not my normal type of RC to get but I do really like my other Arrma trucks so I figured why not give it a try and I am glad I did! I had a ton of fun tearing the track up with it! It is a ton more power and speed than I am used to but it was a great time!
💪 awwww yer for that price even if I had one I would have still bought it I'd love one that 3s line up is crazy the big rocks are probably the wildest rc cars I've driven we put them down to 50% a lot to that power is so aggressive good to see you getting out and enjoying running it without having to worry about scratches etc 👊
Exactly! It is another one I can take out and thrash around and not worry about making sure it is perfectly clean before going back on the shelf. Its job is to take the beatings the others don't get and from the first run I don't think it cares at all! It was a ton of fun and I am super glad I picked it up! I have been looking at the Big Rock as a possible next Arrma purchase. I am really impressed with how tough these things are!
@@rcuintheshed6981 LOL! I did get one hung up in there and it almost went into the ditch at speed due to it. I have heard it is the Achilles heel of the buggy.
It is a fun buggy. It would be a blast on a bigger track, mine is a bit too small for it. Nice.and durable and plenty of power. If you find a good deal on one you won't be upset with it!
Yeah, I could not pass it up and I am glad I got it. It is fast and built like a tank! The track is a little too small but I think with some practice I can get it around there with good times. I was having too much fun slinging dirt around to care this time!
That’s a great price you got Addam! I enjoyed my Typhon quite a bit; great buggy! My shocks leaked but I think that was addressed in later versions! Nice one!👍😊
I have heard from a few the shock may leak so I will keep an eye on them. I had a ton of fun with it and it is way faster than my normal Tamiya kits I love to build. I am already looking at maybe getting a the Big Rock as well but that will be a down the road thing, this one is more than fun enough for now!
Yeah when there is a good deal it is just too hard to walk away from it! Especially when it is right in front of you at the shop! Glad you got a great deal on the infraction!
Hi Addam, great buggy and even better at the price you paid - I don't blame you for picking it up, I would have too! Man, the Arrma looked a handful on your track, but I could see the progression as you got used to it, some great laps going on. And oh boy, I thought you were gonna take the camera out on that speed run on the gravel path! Awesome buggy, great fun and a bargain to boot. What's not to like! Cheers! :o)
Yeah it is a little much for my small track but I am sure with some practice it could throw down some decent laps! I was having too much fun slinging the dirt all over to try too hard to be fast, mainly giggling watching it sling dirt and trying not to crash! It was a little sketchy trying to get a speed pass in as every time I would go full throttle it would just spin and go all over! It was a blast to drive and I am glad I went for paint! LOL!
Lol.... We have all been there Addam! Go in for paint, come away with a whole car!! 🤣 😂 Looks great value for money, and certainly quick.... but I certainly wouldn't rule out the Mad van in the future, its a really good model trust me! The crud bag is a good concept, I actually had loose gravel in my fazer chassis jam up between the prop shaft and the motor last weekend, its shredded the plastic prop shaft to bits!😖 Nice to see the weather finally improving enough to get outside for a run again, would love to have my own track in a nice setting like that fella. Roll on summer eh matey? 😊 👍 👍 👍 👍
Yeah, the only downside to all of this is I still want the Mad Van! I will probably end up getting one but will wait until they go back on sale! The crud bag worked really well and I have one on my rally car too. the still dust in but all the big bits stay out which is important as you experienced! It was really nice to see some dust for a change instead of mud out there! I hope the rainy season is behind us now!
It was a great deal and I very glad I picked it up. I don't think you could get all the electronics for what I spent on it It was a ton of fun and something I can drive way harder than a puppy truck! LOL!
Thanks! It was a bit much for my little track but man was it a blast to drive! Way more powerful than my little 1/10 scale buggies for sure! It will be a fun one to go thrash around when I have the need for speed!
Unusual to see this on your channel Addam. But for that price I wouldn't had resisted, too. And as long this isn't my typical stuff, I cannot say anything technical related and just enjoyed your video.
Yeah, not my normal thing either but for the price I could not pass it up! It is built like a tank and you can tell by the design of it and the heft of it that it was designed and built to take a beating and not break. I am very pleased with the other two Arrma trucks I got so this ended up coming home with me. I had a blast driving it and it is so much more powerful and fast than I am used to. I won't be going out and getting any 6s or 8s kits anytime soon but I am not saying I have not looked at a few after getting this one!
@@AddamsPlayground yupp, 6s and 8s are the reason why they builded it like a tank😁. I mean we still know the prices from the 80s and for that there might be no dsire to shoot it as high as possible into heaven and then complaine about the damage gravity does🤣
Yes, I do love getting a good deal on a things and this one is certainly spicy! LOL! It was a blast out there ripping it around and it another fun runner basher that will allow me to save the other from getting beat up!
Thanks! It is a little much for my small track but man is it a ton of fun out running around elsewhere! Lots and lots of smiles and laughs while running it for sure!!
Oh, this is nice, I am happy for you! I got crazy about this one also a little while ago, but the prices here are close to double of what you got yours for, so I'm definitely holding back to see if something comes up at some point... It's not like an RC car purchase is something urgen anyway, ha ha! Really nice to hear your thoughts on this one, it's a bit different than most of the UA-camrs where I would see videos of this machine from, you have sort of same background as me, mostly Tamiya stuff. So this is your first 8th scale? It's a really special experience driving them first time, I remember my Kyosho Inferno, I have a lot of respect for its power. I think Arrma made a genius move making this one light and affordable and still fast and big, no wonder why this is such a success! Have a great weekend there, buddy!
Yeah I got a heck of deal and this was one of the Christmas specials. I could not pass it up! I am glad I didn't as it is super tough and just flies! I have had 1/8 nitro buggies in the past, never raced them but drove them around my previous track. They were fun but always a mess, oil and dirt make for messy cars! This is perfect as it has the crazy power and speed the nitro has but no mess and it doesn't annoy the neighbors! It is out of the normal realm of mine for something that is so fast and powerful but for the price I could not pass it up! it does tear the track up but it is kind of worth it to see it slinging the dirt all around and throwing roost in the corners!
Yeas, it did really good at keeping the chunky stuff out. Dust and stuff it find but I would rather keep the rocks and other chunks away from everything in there!
Good to know! I will keep an eye on them. The buggy it self seems to built like a tank! I think it will be a fun one to take out and thrash around from time to time!
It is a very solid buggy and I can tell it designed to take a beating for sure! It was so much punchier and faster than I imagined it was going to be. It was way too much at full power on the track. Even at 50% it still has more than enough to get it all out of shape and smacking into things!
Pretty nifty car and an awesome price. I don’t have a local (or anything close to local) hobby store, so finding a deal is hard. Anyway, a great run video the car looks cool.
Thanks Steven! I am lucky to have one local to me. They mainly focus on the Traxxas and Arrma bashers but occasionally have a kit or two in there that is more my speed. This one was a complete "why the heck not" decision to get it but I really happy I did! Compared to the normal Tamiya and Kyosho stuff I build and run this thing is a mad man!! I had a huge smile on my face the whole time! It has been a while since I have driven anything wit this much speed so it was a good time!
List, List, LIST! You gonna stick to a shopping list at the LHS. 😊 Oh and no “browse time”. I set up a line with a $$$ amount not to exceed. 😆 It usually works. Nice air time on the track at 50% and great gravel rips.
I do pretty good most times but when there is a deal like that on the counter it is really hard to pass up!! My track is not big enough for this one really but with some practice I think I can get it around there fairly well, this was just playing! I was having too much fun slinging the dirt around to care about anything else! I could not get it to full throttle on the road, it kept losing traction and getting all squirrely! It was a great big pile of fun for sure and I will be getting back out with it soon!!
Yeah it was too good to leave sitting on the counter at the shop! I had a lot of fun with it out there. My little track is a bit small for it but it was still a hoot slinging dirt all around! In the yard it was a lot of fun! the instant wheelied made me smile a lot!
@@AddamsPlayground lol totally understand that weakness !! I'm a sucker when I see something that I like and if it's at a good price I Will unfortunately go with my impulse ! I think it's okay for that track not to bad Imo definitely smiles for miles
Awesome review. Great job setting up the net. Even the 3s Typhon needs some room to drive and stretch it's legs. I think it would be hard to manage on a small track. I'm sure your going to get lots of driving pleasure with the Typhon. 💪👍
It is a bit much for my little track but I think maybe on 2s and actually trying it will do well. I was having too much fun slinging dirt around with it to care! It was a great time out running it around and I am glad I went in for some paint!! 😂
@@AddamsPlayground Good deal. I mentioned the small track because my driving skills are terrible. I wish I had a track like that in my backyard as it would help me to learn how to drive and steer better. I'm excited for you with your new purchase. Your going to have endless fun with the Typhon. 👍👍
@@RCRoads I am a very spastic driver myself but I try. It is nice to have a spot to play at home. I have gotten better since putting the track in but I will never a pro driver! 😂 I just try to not break anything!
It was a great deal and I am very happy I picked it up! It was a ton of fun and it is built like a tank so I don't have any worries about throwing it around and bashing it about in the yard, it seems to be very happy going nuts!
Hi there Addam, I’m going to try that on my Mrs 😂. Going into the hobby shop for some paint, and coming out with a terrific Arrma……nope didn’t work 😂😂😂 got a whattttttt the ????….!!! Think I’m coming over to your Mrs 😊😊😊😊
Mine just rolled her eyes and told me I needed more supervision in my life! LOL! I had pre-warned her I may come home with more than paint but that is pretty much the same thing I say every time I go! Just say you are going for a lot of paint and when you just come home with the car you can say it was a great deal, you had a coupon and you decided to not get all the paints since you got the car.... then go get the paint next week... you have good health insurance right?!?!
Yeah the 3s version is a lot better than the mega versions but they are equally tough! I did get a a heck of a deal on it and I am glad I went in for some paint!
I opted for the Kyosho Inferno Neo as my first 1/8. I got lucky finding one that was hopped up but never ran and below retail. It is a monster on 4s and built like a tank.
I was pleasantly surprised with this one and how well it runs! My first 1/8th scale was an Ofna Ravager years ago and I loved it but I don't mess with nitro any more, these electric ones are so much more convenient and just as powerful if not more powerful! Thanks for stopping by and checking in!
It is a great basher and fun runner buggy. It is not really a race buggy as it lacks a lot of the tuning options race spec buggies have. That said if you are just having fun with it then it would be fine out there. A change of tires will be the biggest thing needed if it is a hard packed clay surface as the stock tires may struggle for grip as they are an all purpose basher tire.
HI Kevin! Honestly I cannot answer that properly. I think the furthest away I have gotten it from me is maybe 80-100 yards out. It comes with the Spektrum SLT3 radio and I have not heard of anyone complain about those radios or have range issues. But I cannot confirm how far it would actually go but I assume you are going not lose sight of it before you lose signal...
Killer deal I’d say Addam! It’s no ninja 🥷 turtle otherwise it would land on its wheels but, it’s got to be one of the fastest turtles 🐢 out their!😂 You May have to make an expansion on your track for this thing to really show its abilities, LOL! Great purchase my dude! Thanks for sharing!💯👊🏼👍🏻😎
I think with a little more practice I will be able to keep it one its wheels! I blame my driving for most of it. I had a ton of fun with it and it is a fast and durable buggy! It will be a fun one to get out thrash around from time to time and I will be more than happy to get the extra exercise from walking to flip it over. It is totally worth the smiles!!
Those Typhon 3s buggys are fantastic. For my track area, I've never needed more than a 2s lipo. Even then, it's way overpowered out there, lol. Can't go wrong with this rig, especially at that price! Only gripe I have is my servo went out on me after a few runs, seemingly for no apparent reason. Nice video brother 👊🏻👊🏻
Yeah, I am really impressed with it and think going down to 2s will make it a bit more controllable. My little track is too small but I think on 2s it may get around there a lot better. Out free running it is a blast on 3s and I was smiling from ear to ear the whole time!! Take care bud!!
That would really help with the traction rolls! that turf on the inside of the track wanted to flip it over all the time. I got better as time went on and I think with some more time with it I will get some good laps with it. I was having too much fun slinging the dirt around to try and drive it well!
$200?! Now I really am jealous! 😭 Those are £379 here, which is currently $450... really like the look of these things. I must start working on a track!
Ouch, yeah this was a deal I could not pass up! I think the normally run about $340 here and they had it marked down a $100 for the holidays and then I had the coupon to use on it so it was a deal I had to take home!! Even with all the paint I got it was still cheaper than the regular price! This one will beat up track pretty good so I would stick with the smaller less powerful ones on the track when you get it done!
This is a great basher for the price. It is far from slow, even out of the box. SUPER durable. I'm more of a Tamiya guy but it was too good of a deal to pass up.
Yeah, I am normally a kit builder and not a basher but when that deal is sitting on the counter it is really hard to walk away from! LOL! It is one of the sacrificial cars and trucks I have. I keep them around for when I really want to get out and not care at all. I have so many others I want to keep in really nice shape these take the beatings so the others don't. It is built like a tank and it seemed to really enjoy getting tossed around!
@@AddamsPlayground My 3S is super modified. The other day, at 20 degrees below zero, I ran into the corner of a curb probably going 60mph DEAD ON and it *only* broke a control arm. I thought it would have a decent amount of damage. These things lust for a beating for sure. Mind was slightly blown. I like my Typhon enough to purchase a WLToys 144001 which seems to be similar in nature but on a smaller scale. Can't wait for that to come in the mail. If you haven't done a review already I recommend you check it out bro.
@@wissamsaade3323 yeah my first wow moment with Arrma was when my Granite took an odd hop and smashed right into the side of my garage. It bounced off and drove away like it was nothing! I generally don't go nuts with any of my kits but these I have no worries about thrashing around!! I have thought about getting one of the smaller WPL buggies, I have heard a lot of good things about them. Maybe one day! It would probably be better suited for my track than this one!
Typhon could be a reference to Greek Mythology. Typhon could breathe fire and control wind, making him a nearly undefeatable monster, and one of the mightiest in all of Greek mythology. He was known as the god of storms because of his control of destructive winds and fire.
Thanks! It was one I could not pass up! I think this year will be a great year for RC deals for the holidays! I got the dust cover from Amazon. Here is the link to the one I got amzn.to/3rOY4kR it is only like $13 currently so a great price!
Very cool Addam. This thing is really a beast and it loves the speed. The track is cool but it was like putting a wild animal in a cage. lol Now the field and the open road it was flying!!! lol You just can not beat the price either wow. Nice idea for the cover as well. Hope work is going well.. ;)
Yeah my track is a bit small for it and the yard was a a lot more fun! It is just harder to try and keep things in frame when free running around like that! I had a blast with it and I am glad I stumbled upon the deal they had going! The cover worked well and with the mod to it I think it will keep even more out. A little dust and some moss bits are more than acceptable! Work is going better and I am settling in. There is still a lot to learn and adjust to but I am much more settled and less stressed after this last week! Over all it is going great, thanks for asking! Take care.
Oh you should go back and get some more paint then! That car is lovely! I looks great sitting still but drives really well too. The perfect spot for it to drive really is something like a tennis court or something similar though, rough roads it going to give it problems. It does seem like the paint section is always located in the back of the shop so you have to walk past all the cool stuff to get to it!
That was a great price. How could you resist? Now you have a fun way to weed your track. I think the buggies of almost all scales are the best jumpers. I think once you get used to the speed you'll have a blast with it. I think different tires might make a difference. If there is a dirt track or BMX track near you I think you can take it out antd let it fly. The inside protector is a smart idea. Ii think the more you drive it the more you'll like it.
Yeah, now that I have some time with it I think I can get it around the track a whole lot better. It was a lot of fun and it will be a great one to go out and thrash around without worrying about it, it seems to be built like a tank! I do have a 1/8th scale track near me and I may take it up there at some point, I really don't do racing as I have too much anxiety about wrecking other people I have never done any racing outside of doing it with close friends!
@@AddamsPlayground One of the best ways to overcome that fear of wrecking others is to go on practice days. You can be on track with other cars. Also, you can turn down your throttle to give you greater control. If you watch a few local races I am sure you will see drivers that care less about wrecking others.
Grayson and I are probably gonna get in trouble this spring because we’re building a small track in the backyard.. we used to have a garden there once. I’m gonna tell my wife it’s an RC garden to grow our channel 😂
That is what this space was. My dad always had a big garden and this spot was part of it. We still do some stuff but not to the extent he did! Sounds like a great idea!
Nice! looks a bit to fast and big for the track though. 1/8th buggies are nice don't know why it was flipping over for you my nitro buggy is like one of the best rc's I ever owned it runs so good... I think these arrma 1/8th buggies are not the same with that big plastic tub like chassis maybe that's why they don't run and perform as good?
Yeah it is the max size for the track for sure. The smaller 1/10 scale stuff is much better suited for the size of the track. It would be right at home on an 1/8th scale track though! more than likely it will be a yard basher to use to just get out and blow off some steam and save all the others out there from the abuse! It seems to not care at all! I think the rolling was mostly my fault between setting the spring tension too high and having to get used to the way it drives. I think a nitro buggy would have a bit more low weight to it and be more centralized weight as well. I think this one has a decent balance but it is a little lighter and especially on the carpet and the grippy moss it had a tendency to traction roll. I got better with it and learned how to keep it rubber side down as I went. On just a dirt surface it would be much more stable and not roll unless you caught a rut or something. I think the instant torque is a big difference between the two. Although the nitro has gobs of power it is a little softer on the launch than the electric powered is.
I think the mega version would be a lot of fun and way more controllable! I have the Granite and the Senton Mega versions and I love them. They run well and super tough. I would recommend an ESC fan and a heat sink for the motors for those truck though. they do run a bit hot!
Hi there! Nice story, I can see you around the shop mumbling and thinking and finally deciding. I love those narrow tires. It jumps very well and so i think you need more landing space. Why not to move the limit 2 or 3 meters ahead? This aloud you faster jumps and the track would have a different curve. Ciao!
Yes, that is the scene in the hobby shop almost every time I go, mumbling to myself on why I really don't need to get this or that new kit! Most of the time I am talking myself out of it as there is another one I would rather have that they don't have in stock so I am trying to talk myself out of buying the one in stock just because they have it there! Also there is the "my wife will kill me if I bring this home" that is said at least once! The buggy does need a bigger track than mine! I think it would be better without the big jump but it is a lot of work to take it out! I think it is better suited for an 1/8th track and I have one near me I may try and take it to. I am not a fan of racing with others as I am always worried about ruining someone else's run by me messing up so i tend to not have fun with it and I am just a bundle of nerves the whole time! So for now it will be a fun runner in the yard and occasionally on the track. I will try to get it back out for some serious laps and a lap time for the leader board at some point soon, this run was just me goofing off and having fun throwing dirt around with it!
I’ve been looking at getting my first 4WD RC and I’ve been looking closely at the Traxxas WideMaxx. I saw this buggy and it caught my interest but not sure it is as durable as the Maxx in the jumps and landings. The Typhon 6S looks like a better option over the 3S with the many part upgrades. What’s your thoughts between the Typhon 6S and the WideMaxx? Thanks for the video and your time. 😎👊
Honestly I am not the best to answer. I mostly do the kits builds of the Tamiya and Kyosho stuff. I have heard good things about the Typhon 6s but if you are going go big air and stunts then the Maxx is more suited for all that. Either way parts are gonna break!
Nice buggy, a few mates have these style of buggys, cant see me getting one, it would hardly get used and just take up shelf space 😂 was great to see you get it out on the track 👍
This is one of the sacrificial cars I have. I can take this out and run it as hard as I want without worrying about it. It allows me to be much more conservative with the rest of them making sure that staying looking good!
I think that is their "normal" price. I got lucky it was the last day of their special pricing for the holidays on it and with the coupon I had it made it a no-brainer to take it home! I don't think I could buy all the electronics that are in there for the price I spent on it. It was a ton of fun and if you see them on sale it is worth grabbing one!
LOL!! It happens! At least this time I had an idea I may bring something else home but it was not this one. I am very happy I did though, it is a fun buggy!
LOL! There is something with the increase in speed of the buggy causes increases in the magnetic pull from inanimate objects as the buggy gets close to them. It is call the RC-pole-crash phenomenon. Some argue to say it is the driver getting to focused on the car and not the surroundings but I am sure it the the scientific explanation for it... at least that is what I use as my excuse!!! LOL!
There are tons to choose from but I have had very good results from the ZEEE brand batteries from Amazon. Here are my links to the ones I use: for 3s I use this one amzn.to/4eEmAYB and for 2s I use these amzn.to/4gBZRyp To be honest I run it mostly on the 2s packs, still a lot of fun and not quite as violent on everything, plus you can get two batteries for the price of one basically. There are other sizes and plug combos available, if you just search for ZEEE lipo battery on Amazon you can see what they have to offer for capacity and plugs to match.
Thanks! This one was a ripper and a little too much for my track! I try to do my best when editing the run footage together to keep it interesting. Sometimes it is just the track runs which can get a little repetitious after a few laps!
I will have to keep an eye on them! It still beats the oily dirty mess of my old nitro buggies! The electric power is so much more enjoyable too, gobs of torque the instant you smash the throttle!
Gonna need a bigger track Addam 😆 would love to be able to get stuff like this at those prices in the UK 🙄 UA-cam's advert of choice for the video was for the new "fast and furious" film which I thought was very appropriate 🤣
Yes, it does need a bigger track to really do well. Mine it too small to really get it going! It was a good way to get rid of some of the weeds though! They normally run about $340 here and they had it marked down a $100 for the holidays and then I had the coupon to use on it so it was a deal I had to take home!! That is funny the ad was for the fast and the furious... that describes this one well! It was a lot of fun just bashing about in the yard and it is a perfect one to take some abuse so the others don't have to! It seems happy to take it!
I can't even imagine it with that much power! This one tore up the track pretty good, 6s would be like taking the tiller out to it! LOL!! I did have a ton of fun with it!
Great review👍 is the Arrma Typhoon Mega much slower n lower quality...🤔here in northern most part of Europe where I live, the difference is 1000 ish nok/equivalent to $100😊
I am really impressed with this buggy, It is a really fun one to take out and tear around the yard with! It is a little too much for my small track but that is fine, I really just free roaming all over and watching it shred grass! It is about $100 difference between the two here as well usually. They had these marked way down before Christmas when I went in and got this one. Right place at the right time!
There is a 1/8th scale track not far from me. I never go since I don't have anything to run out there. I doubt seriously I take it racing, I get a lot of anxiety out there with other people on the track. I am not competitive at all and I am always worried about ruining someone else's day by me messing up!
@@AddamsPlayground understandable... I think it's awesome how racing is here in the NW... there's some indoor carpet, a new one close to me...as well as a new indoor dirt track for 1/10... some indoor arena racing in the winter for 1/8 and 4wd 1/10, and in the summer we have a LOT of racing where 1/8 and 1/10 race on the same tracks at the same events... not a lot of racing elsewhere mix 8th and 10th scales from what I gather. I found the RC racing community to be full of a lot of awesome people... even if you're not competitive, you might find it fun to add the extra layer of driving laps on different courses and trying to best your own times... I'm not really "competitive" as far as my approach or goals/expectations....nor is my driving gonna he competitive with others ...lol But the comraderie is awesome.... my kid is starting to get pretty fast lately... if you ever find some 1/10 racing near enough to try it, hit me up and I could send ya something to go try it with... could make an interesting video or 3?
@@isaiahfurrow7414 There is an outdoor 1/8th scale track near me but 1/10th scale I have to travel few hours each way to get to any where. If I was into it it may be worth it but to just go try it out it is not really my thing. I am content with banging around my little track and bombing around the yard! My mail carrier just got back into racing and traveling a few hours away to go up and do club races on the weekends. I may tag along with him one day to check them out.
Yeah on 2s it would be a bit tamer and would do better. It will certainly be back out there, it was still a lot of fun even though I had to drop the throttle limit. Most of the was to tame my heavy trigger finger! The Senton 550 and Granite 550 are both a blast out there and are just about perfect for the track.
LOL! It was marked down under $300 for the regular sale and then I had an additional coupon I was able to use on top of that so it turned out to be a great deal!! It is the one time I have gotten a really great deal at my LHS like that. Normally I might get $25-50 off of a large purchase but never anything this good! I am looking forward to another 4 months or so when things get slashed again! I think we are going to see some really deep discounts this year!
I didn't have time to review all the footage. It was just a fun run and I was having more fun slinging dirt around than trying to get around the track cleanly. I will get it back out for lap times later.
Yeah they normally run about $340 here and they had it marked down a $100 for the holidays and then I had the coupon to use on it so it was a deal I had to take home!! I can't imagine how nutty the 6s version has to be! 3s is a handful!
That is our little beagle. She loves to want to chase them but is also partially terrified of them so she has a real love hate relationship with RCs! Thankfully she no longer barks at them all the time, it used to sound like I was beating her or something when driving a car around. She would get so excited it sounded like she was screaming at them! LOL!
they are normally not this cheap, I had caught it on a very good pre-Christmas sale and also had the store coupon for it so it worked out perfectly. They normally run about $330 here but during the holidays they will discount them pretty well.
Oh I love the 3s line of Arrmas. I love the sound of the transmission, reminds me of joy! Nice find! Cheers
It seems like a great spot in between the normal 1/10th scale speed and power to the larger scale big battery bashers. I had a great a time out there and it will get used a lot!
Hello 🙋♂
Greetings from Japan🗾
armor buggy is nice
you bought a good one
I fell in love with your beard
i will support you
😊🙇👉🔔
Amen to that 🙏
Man that's a great track you made there, awesome job.
Yeeeeeeesssss! I love the typhon! And you got the 3S, looks at that thing fly
It is a real ripper for sure! I could not pass up the deal they had on it! I had to ask Ed if he made a typo on the price! LOL! It really seemed to enjoy getting tossed around and tearing things up! It is a fun buggy for sure!
Great first run with the Typhon, a lot of fun and speed for little money.
It was not what I expected to bring home but I am glad I did. It is built like a tank and I never gave any of the tumbles with it a second second thought! For the money I could not be happier! It was a ton f fun and one I don't care about scrapes and scratches, it was made for them!
Good deal. I've done that before. I've got 1 1/8th scale and that's all I need. SC8 I converted to electric before it became a thing. Fun to watch.
Thanks for taking the time to share your video Addam👍🦘🇦🇺
It is not my normal type of RC but man is this thing fun! I couldn't pass up the deal on it and it was a blast ripping it around out there! The instant wheelies were a blast and the ones on the track were at the 50% setting! If you stabbed the throttle it takes off! It is going to be a great one to have to around to just take out and thrash around so I can leave all the others in good shape and just putter them around in the yard when I want to. From the first run of it I think it is more than happy to go out and get tossed around and tear up the yard!
@@AddamsPlayground
Good to see you have a powerful buggy to have fun with mate. Our family has 4s Kraton and Outcast and they're beast even on 3s so we know how much fun you're having. Enjoy Addam👍
What a steal of a deal! Definitely looks great on the track
According to classic mythology typhon is a monster with a big voice, and was tge father of the sphinx , cerbius, and chimera..
LOL, well this one like to roll over and take breaks it you turn to fast! Reminds me of those fainting goats... all is good and then bam.. on the ground not able to move! Once I got the feel for it it was much better but at first it was every other lap it went over!
@@AddamsPlayground haha I had to look up what a typhon was
Great price ! mine was 320 😆 awesome buggy tho , so much fun
It really surprised me how powerful and quick it is and how much fun it is! I had a blast with it and it is my new go-to basher!
That’s a killer deal!😁
The typhon works great on that track!
Sweet video!💯👍
It was too good of a deal to pass up! It really needs a bit more track but I think now that I have run it and now how it handles I will take it back out for a serious run and get some times with it! This was all just goofing off and slinging dirt around! It is really great at doing that!
@@AddamsPlayground 👍😎
I like it!
Such a great deal on this Typhon! Looks like a great Arrma
Awesome! I've never owned an Arrma. Looks great and I know they are rugged. I wish I had a local hobby shop. My closest one is 45 mins away.
@@RDsRCReviews oh give me a little.with it, I will break something on it!!
Looks awesome Addam and a lot of car for the money dude! Looks like it was great on the track at 50% but an animal when you opened it up 🔥
Yeah I had to slow it down as it was way to hard to control the throttle ay 100% or even 75% on the track. It would be great for a 1/8th scale sized track and out there I am sure it would be awesome! It instantly wheelies in the grass at 100% and I tried to get a good speed pass on the road but it would not hook up past about 75% throttle! It was a fun run for sure!!
That thing rips! And what a great price you got it for. Enjoy!👍😊
Nice Addam what a great buggy for the price awesome deal 👍🤩🏅
The only thing I can fault with them you could drive it in the lounge room it will find a rock and get it stuck in the steering somehow
@@rcuintheshed6981 LOL! I did get one hung up in there and it almost went into the ditch at speed due to it. I have heard it is the Achilles heel of the buggy.
Im looking into a Typhon. Thanks for the great video.
It is a fun buggy. It would be a blast on a bigger track, mine is a bit too small for it. Nice.and durable and plenty of power. If you find a good deal on one you won't be upset with it!
Good deal. Looks good going around the track too.
I can't blame you for your purchase...I got a brushed infraction for $200...the last one left at the hobby shop!!
Yeah when there is a good deal it is just too hard to walk away from it! Especially when it is right in front of you at the shop! Glad you got a great deal on the infraction!
@@AddamsPlayground Thanks man!! It now has a 3s power system and will burn through a set of tires.
Looks great value for money, and certainly quick.... but I certainly wouldn't rule out the Mad van in the future, its a really good model trust me!
The crud bag is a good concept, I actually had loose gravel in my fazer chassis jam up between the prop shaft and the motor last weekend, its shredded the plastic prop shaft to bits!😖
Nice to see the weather finally improving enough to get outside for a run again, would love to have my own track in a nice setting like that fella.
Roll on summer eh matey? 😊
👍 👍 👍 👍
Yeah, the only downside to all of this is I still want the Mad Van! I will probably end up getting one but will wait until they go back on sale! The crud bag worked really well and I have one on my rally car too. the still dust in but all the big bits stay out which is important as you experienced! It was really nice to see some dust for a change instead of mud out there! I hope the rainy season is behind us now!
I think that these are the best all around Arrma rigs. Low, capable and fast.!! It's not a puppy RC but it will have to do. 🤣🤣🤣
It was a great deal and I very glad I picked it up. I don't think you could get all the electronics for what I spent on it It was a ton of fun and something I can drive way harder than a puppy truck! LOL!
@@AddamsPlayground I do love the puppy truck.!! 🤣🤣🤣
Would recommend u upgrade the bearings in the motor there pretty bad the front one came apart after 4 days and grenade my motor
Yeah, I have been told this is a problem with them. I look to get a new set of bearings for it and get them replaced. Thanks for the heads up!
Awesome RC and buy, cool run
I mean we still know the prices from the 80s and for that there might be no dsire to shoot it as high as possible into heaven and then complaine about the damage gravity does🤣
@@RCBirds Yeah things get broken much less often when things stay on the ground!
Variety is the spice of life mate, cheap spice is even better 😂
Yes, I do love getting a good deal on a things and this one is certainly spicy! LOL! It was a blast out there ripping it around and it another fun runner basher that will allow me to save the other from getting beat up!
Nice run! Good value
Cover worked well!!!
Yeas, it did really good at keeping the chunky stuff out. Dust and stuff it find but I would rather keep the rocks and other chunks away from everything in there!
You got a great price on that Addam and a great 1st run watch the motor bearings there known to go bad
Good to know! I will keep an eye on them. The buggy it self seems to built like a tank! I think it will be a fun one to take out and thrash around from time to time!
The typhon won the long jump test at horizon fest last year. They are tough
Very nice indeed what a great bargain 💪
Very good first run they great
Yeah it was too good to leave sitting on the counter at the shop!
Great price on the buggy! Looks like a fun car
@@AddamsPlayground 🤣😂🦻🏻👂
Very cool buggy. I have the Granite BLX 3S and it's a beast. Arrma 3S line is pretty good and under 200 Bucks is a great deal.
Thanks for stopping by and checking in!
is it still worth it to buy in 2024? trying to find a good buggy for a clay track
Hi what’s the range for the remote on the aarma typhon 3s? Could I use the remote from the jlb cheetah 21101 instead ? Range is like 400 yards
You can put the arms off of a arrma Mohave all the way around it and widen the stance
@@AddamsPlayground If you are looking for a durable basher I would also recommend the Kyosho Sandmaster EZ
@@wissamsaade3323 I'll take a look at it. I'm not familiar with that one.
Nice video 👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Typhon could be a reference to Greek Mythology. Typhon could breathe fire and control wind, making him a nearly undefeatable monster, and one of the mightiest in all of Greek mythology. He was known as the god of storms because of his control of destructive winds and fire.
@@TheSerbianG that makes sense. I had no idea. I guess someone at Arrma likes mythology, the Gorgon trucks proved that!
Great vid. And killer deal. Where did you find a dust cover i just got the same car and cant seem to find a dust cover for it
Take care.
I went for paint and nearly bought the 6 wheel Tyrrel F1 car. But I resisted, it was close though
Hi. Excellent vid dude ! Can you please tell me which motor pinion gear does it come stock ? Many thanks .
I have not opened it up but it is supposed to comes stock with the 15t Mod 0.8 pinion gear. The upgrade gear they sell for it is the 20t one.
@@AddamsPlayground ok thanks a lot
Grayson and I are probably gonna get in trouble this spring because we’re building a small track in the backyard.. we used to have a garden there once. I’m gonna tell my wife it’s an RC garden to grow our channel 😂
That is what this space was. My dad always had a big garden and this spot was part of it. We still do some stuff but not to the extent he did! Sounds like a great idea!
That's a sweet buggy
Thanks! not my normal go-to type of kit but for the price it was hard to pass up! I had a lot of fun out there with it!!
Nice! looks a bit to fast and big for the track though.
I do like the arrma range . I was thinking of getting the mega version. 👍
I think the mega version would be a lot of fun and way more controllable! I have the Granite and the Senton Mega versions and I love them. They run well and super tough. I would recommend an ESC fan and a heat sink for the motors for those truck though. they do run a bit hot!
@@AddamsPlayground thanks mate . I had the senton mega years ago and it was a great truck . One I wish I’d kept really 😊👍
@@AddamsPlayground I Understand our mind storm in the shops... About the track I respect your mind any how I find nice working on it. Ciao!!
@@AddamsPlayground good idea, i just dont have much time to rip about. But i would prob just take a car that i race, and pray i dint destroy it 😂
That car looks fun. I checked, and now they're $339! Dam inflation!
That's the same thing that happens to me, bring home paint and.....Kraton 8s EXB...... it was on sale 🤔.... 🤪
LOL!! It happens! At least this time I had an idea I may bring something else home but it was not this one. I am very happy I did though, it is a fun buggy!
For some unknown reason, mine likes being attracted to my mailbox
LOL!
😂😂
I have this and took it out today... what's the best battery for it??
There are tons to choose from but I have had very good results from the ZEEE brand batteries from Amazon. Here are my links to the ones I use: for 3s I use this one amzn.to/4eEmAYB and for 2s I use these amzn.to/4gBZRyp
To be honest I run it mostly on the 2s packs, still a lot of fun and not quite as violent on everything, plus you can get two batteries for the price of one basically. There are other sizes and plug combos available, if you just search for ZEEE lipo battery on Amazon you can see what they have to offer for capacity and plugs to match.
Keep looking at these great running video!
You had to hit open rd nice editing back and forth rd track grass.
Thanks! This one was a ripper and a little too much for my track! I try to do my best when editing the run footage together to keep it interesting. Sometimes it is just the track runs which can get a little repetitious after a few laps!
This car is awesome, the only problem I have had is the shocks leak!
This is s good driving buggy the old man has the 6s version super fast
Quite a ripper indeed
Yeah it scoots along pretty fast! the track is a little small for it but it was still fun slinging dirt around all over!
Nice, before you know it, you'll be trying out racing! Are there any RC race tracks near you?
It did get rid of some of the weeds lol
Yeah being an old garden plot things grow very well out there, especially weeds!
Put a 2s pack in. The track is made for megas
$200 what holiday sale was this, thing is close to $350 I need to shop at your local shop 😆
This is D.&T. TOXIC RC, AN RC IS MUCH BETTER THAN PAINT, LOL
Did it come with a cover cuz mine don't remember having one?
I got the dust cover from Amazon, the link is in the description.
What are the track times?
I didn't have time to review all the footage. It was just a fun run and I was having more fun slinging dirt around than trying to get around the track cleanly. I will get it back out for lap times later.
$200! Omg mine cost me £319 and my 6s £479!
Yeah they normally run about $340 here and they had it marked down a $100 for the holidays and then I had the coupon to use on it so it was a deal I had to take home!! I can't imagine how nutty the 6s version has to be! 3s is a handful!
I'm not sure if you're familiar with the UA-cam channels RC dude 81 or Rich duperbash go check those guys at and what they do with arrma cars
I will have to check them out. I am usually more into the building of the kits and not RTRs but this was too good to pass up!
What about that dog in the background
That is our little beagle. She loves to want to chase them but is also partially terrified of them so she has a real love hate relationship with RCs! Thankfully she no longer barks at them all the time, it used to sound like I was beating her or something when driving a car around. She would get so excited it sounded like she was screaming at them! LOL!
That’s so cheap these are £3-400 uk 🇬🇧
they are normally not this cheap, I had caught it on a very good pre-Christmas sale and also had the store coupon for it so it worked out perfectly. They normally run about $330 here but during the holidays they will discount them pretty well.
