I just graduated school not too long ago and now I’m working and enjoying it. I come to this channel to learn but this video taught me about life. Not HVAC. This was as deep as it gets. Coming from where I come from and been through what I been through this hit deep. The world needs to hear this!! God Bless you man

Very inspiring. We often do not realize how far soft skills can take us. Also, I feel like it's becoming a lost art: politeness, discipline, self-restraint are becoming rare. That makes it more valuable too! Especially for young techs who are not super knowledgeable yet but want to make a name for themselves from the start.

Society is over stimulated for sure. Work is viewed as a bad thing and you’re poor or something, a lot of younger people have the wrong mindset for life these days

Brian absolutely FANTASTIC video and a great subject to touch on. I’m still new to this trade and these skills are just as important as knowing about electricity and the refrigeration system. I for one will be thinking about how I should be approaching a conversation prior to every conversation now

Smartphones are a big problem with younger workers. They are on them to much during work hours. They want to stay connected to friends like they have done since they got the phone. But the employer isn’t paying you to be on the phone. They need to leave them in the truck during the day and tell friends and family that you will talk to them after work hours. The problem is no one has ever made them put down the phone and schools let them have them in class.

    • @JohnDoe-jt9oq

My phone is a tool used to take pictures, check system pressures, look up information, get pricing info, and talk to my boss. I've also had to use it to call 911 on a few occasions. My phone isn't staying in my truck.

    • @bryangray1084

John Doe I should have wrote this better. This is more about helpers on jobs. I have two phones my personal one and the one the company provides. I leave the personal one in the truck. My company has had customers send pictures of techs sitting at the outdoor unit playing on the phone. Also helpers sitting on the patio texting. I see helpers and techs texting their friends and girlfriends while trying to work on a unit. this all being done on personal phones. Had one tech that was always going outside to smoke and call someone.

@@bryangray1084 Fair enough. I don't disagree. I'm younger (26) so I took it a tad personal. But yeah, there are a lot of distracted folk in this field and maybe if they had less going on in their phones they might get bored and I don't know, work...

My company issues iphones and iPads. Personal phones are not allowed on a job site. They control what apps are available on them and what you Are allowed to do with them. They use Apple business manager program to do it.
