:Fair use is a legal doctrine that promotes freedom of expression by permitting the unlicensed use of copyright-protected works in certain circumstances. Section 107 of the Copyright Act provides the statutory framework for determining whether something is a fair use and identifies certain types of uses-such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research-as examples of activities that may qualify as fair use. Section 107 calls for consideration of the following four factors in evaluating a question of fair use:
80's was a great experience growing up.
That'll get stuck in your head quick. 😂
Great reaction lady. 🌹
Catchy tune, but I only vaguely remember seeing that video on MTV back when the song was a hit and I was in high school. Wikipedia categorizes the song as "dance pop", a style which admittedly was not my thing at that time. So maybe I simply paid no attention to it. Strange. The song was well covered by Annie Lennox and Chrissie Hynde during the Colombian Volcano Appeal Concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 1986. A volcano erupted in Colombia in 1985 that wiped out an entire town killing over 20,000 people. In that context the song asks people to give up their cash for a good cause. In the original, well, the question is open to interpretation. Give it up usually means quit resisting. So give up your resistance to getting out on the dance floor would be the polite interpretation. But double-entendres and such being what they are, wink wink, nudge nudge. Kacey's vocals, the horn riffs, and vocables in the hook fit right in with a lot of pop from that later in that decade, including Phil Collins "Sussudio" (1985), Katrina and the Waves "Walking on Sunshine" (1985), Paul Simon "You Can Call Me Al" (1986), and Fine Young Cannibals "She Drives Me Crazy" (1989). PS. When you're ready for more from KC and the Sunshine Band also check out "That's the Way (I Like It)", "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty", "Keep It Comin' Love" and "Boogie Shoes".
A very odd video
But , it was the 80's , HAHA
I like the song though
