At the end of the day, everybody is different and Linux allows everyone to be different and have the perfect environment that best suits them. There's no "universal answer". Only the universal operating system (Debian). However, Fedora, Mint, etc., are still well worth a look for new users IMO. One should learn a bit about Linux before going to Debian to understand more of the choices available to them.
I started with Zorin OS17 Pro about a month now and its been a amazing experience after ditching Windows and no looking back hahaha.
I started with Mandrake in 1998, switched to Feroda in 2004 and I never tried another distro for 20 years. I am pretty happy with Fedora.

The best distros are KDE versions of number 1) Manjaro 2) EndeavourOS
Opensuse Tumbleweed is a great beginner distro. Change my mind.
Started with Ubuntu, then Mint, tested Debian and currently on Arch
