- Blue House emerges as a pioneering concept in movable living spaces in outskirts of Pune, Maharashtra, constructed from reused shipping containers. Over the years, it has undergone remarkable transformations, having been relocated four times and redesigned twice, giving users liberty of customization and a versatile home.
The innovative design of the Blue House was rooted in the idea of modularity, akin to building blocks, where each container seamlessly integrates with others, offering endless configuration possibilities. This approach underscores the adaptability of such structures as it ages and the ease with which the living space can be enhanced by adding more containers in a relatively short time frame. The Blue House maximizes natural light by strategically opening up walls, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow throughout the day.

From a display space, Blue House transitioned into a permanent residence for Dhara, the designer, and her husband, a Naval Officer. With a commitment to sustainability, approximately 65% of reclaimed materials were integrated into its construction, along with pre-existing furniture that narrates stories of the users’ memories.

I believe, the earlier footages had poise and calm with ease of understanding of home layouts, the recent videos have been very rushy with hell lot of cuts. Kindly analyse.
Which help them in their sales. If you can understand the layouts watching video you wont buy it.
Thank you Sonali and Dhara for your incredible work for the environment 👌🏽. Looks cozy.
A beautiful remote village life with pleasing sound of nature, birds and cool breeze during winter and rainy season. Away from city with full of silence, calm and peace.
beautiful container house but didnt cover many aspects like how they are keeping the house cool and how they using water and electricity etc.
I have been following your work since the lockdown. and looking forward to visit ur site. living in a container home and cutting down the carbon footprint is something that I always have thought of doing
you are cutting carbon footprint only if you use a used container instead of a new container
@@petrichor259 that’s the plan

Hi,
Where exactly is this in Pune, I am from Pune and would like to visit.
Nice!!!!
Much awaited video… kudos to ur work & concept of using container & recycled materials!!!
Also I was wondering that (since I’m following ur “studio alternatives” from past 2 years), why didn’t ur work showcased on Buildofy early… anyways better let than never!!! Good to see this video…
Wanted to build farmhouse in my farm. Will definitely visit ur studio!!!
I felt like their ideology of reclaiming material (container) is forcefully stuffed into to the design process and I could feel there is bridge breaking factor between the site and the design
But the other reclaimed meterials are absolutely stunning!
Nice👌👌👌
How are you dealing with the heat?
In summers those containers would be cooking..
idk if it's the name, but I HAD THE SAME QUESTION TOO!! I had once visited a 'Container' office, and I was ROASTED!
They mentioned using Thermocoal
And clay roof tiles… wood is also good to prevent heat from penetrating inside…I suppose, the chip board also is helpful in this.
@@prajwalthakur8017Probably has an insulation wall inside made of heat resistant materials
The site plan has been removed from their site, it probably cooks people alive.
cost of making 1 set ?
pune is hot weather, is it not that, you are consuming more energy costs... ? as its made of iron
❤❤❤❤
I would like to know how much you spent on this container home
