Got to admit this video was super helpful was practicing the first boss of ghost of the deep with dragons breath and just instinctively threw on the new strand fusion and then I remembered this video and broke out my imperial decree and man that thing cooked, that being said I think fusions are still more useful in more situations because of safety of use and range like the ogre in warlords ruin but will definitely keep this info in mind because when you can use shotguns use them
due to the recent rework of how golden gun functions, you could have dealt 25% increased damage in the initial clip bc you were radiant, but since you were in the well when you fired it, you lost your 25% buff. idk if you already knew this but if you didn't, I hope this helps :)

Tbh i was a shotgun main in the start. Was using a lot of wastelander but after reaching harder content i feel like they fell off cuz in harder level content the closer you are the faster you are killed. I have only played this game for 2 months so my opinion might not be valid. I currently use chill clip riptide and zaouli with db with apothesis veil for dps and in masters and gm i use stasis warlock with zaouli arbelast and crux(bipod + rec) if you have any recommendation will gladly accept it
If you are gonna use a fusion in DPS it should be scatter signal. Chill clip is not a damage perk. As for harder content yes it's true. But with a proper build it's generally not a concern, or you can just use a sniper

The only shotgun I will use over a fusion rifle is a cascade point rapid fire. (If threat level came back with auto loading/cascade point I'd never take that thing off) I just think fusions are fun.
The bad part about shotguns has to be the heavy pairings and the range. What options do I have as a heavy? GL and Rockets? If I want to reach optimal damage I am always in danger of blowing myself up. You can only use Tractor confidently, or slugs with GL/Rocket, unless you get Lunafactions.
Curious what you would use for a bait and switch apex setup paired with a primary. Example being apex + sunshout + ? Or apex + quicksilver + ? Im going to assume some sort of aggressive frame for both? Sorry to be nooby but i never use shotguns on anything that's not my titan..
If it's just a BnS fodder weapon I'd probably use a sniper or a GL. But within shotgun range, Lightweights with Vorpal are probably the play for you. You could also do one trench Barrel set of 3, shoot primary, then dump all your rockets then go back to trench Barrel cycling for the rest as another idea.

this video was really nice to watch and very informative! ive been putting off shotguns for a long time besides slug shottys since those were the only ones I’ve liked to use for a long time. nowadays I strictly use fusion rifles due to the range and ease of use but, this video really opened my eyes to Imperial Decree, seeing it hit 130k Crota is kinda nutty so now I’m thinking I should go craft me one now lol. what rolls for pve would you suggest for it; and also what kind of other shotguns would be worth using (besides slugs, i already have heritage, the one from root and FILO). i might as well craft one or two to keep around since I’ve been looking for some new weapons to use.
I suggest watching the whole video, slugs are pretty much the weakest shotgun type as it sits. I've been having a ton of fun using Cascade point setups and they do pretty decent damage while being a little less intense than full shotty swaps.

Cus I’m a felwinters helm enthusiast, and I feel that or the trench barrel imperial decree could do me wonders man, what do you recommend for a felwinters helm user, brother?
So 4th UIR I actually like because it works with grapple reloads since only 4th needs instant reloads. That's definitely it's strong suit. Number wise Trench Decree is around 2mil total and 110k DPS. Where as individually UiR is 130k and 4th is A LOT DPS wise and both together add up to nearly 2mil. So if you sweat Cascade point it will do more

I wanted keep the video shorter by not listing off 20 guns for each part. But aside from Imperial. You have Until It's Return and Ikelos Shotgun both as both being good Surrounded and Cascade point rapids. Retro Futurist, Riiswalker, and 7th Seraph/No Remorse being being the top Lightweights.
It depends what you wanna do. ALH vorpal is a great basic and non specialized setup, but you might be able to do more damage in some situations with more specialized perks like Cascade or surrounded

Pretty much all of them are some form of Threat Detector/ ALH in the 3rd column and The damage perk in the 4th. With Trench and Cascade shotguns thats obvious, with the swap shotguns that's either vorpal, frenzy, or surrounded depending on preference and circumstance. Its not exactly a 1 to 1 thing.
The animation cancel swap glitch! I covered that when it came out! I call it glitch swapping. However the same rotations work with out it. Just a bit slower

Sure. With Apex I would use an exotic special most of the time like Izanagi or Merciless. However the same shotguns you'd use with Gjally would also work the same for Apex since they're both solar. It's all about matching elements. As for that I'd go for Riiswalker from Iron banner, Retrofuturist from Shaxx, and Without Remorse from Presage. You use the void one for tractor, the solar for Gjally, and the kinetic for both. And you want either quick/slick draw or Threats Detector with Vorpal for them. That'll be your basic setup

Lol nah fuck shotguns, I'd still choose fusion over everything, even if the dps is slightly higher the total damage is best with a fusion + is safer, if you are so close to a boss that you can use a shotgun then probably the best choise is just a sword, theres no situations in the game were a shotgun is better than a fusion since fusion can be used almost everywhere safely even is high end content, its just not worthy to use shottie lol
Shotguns have similar total damage to fusions, and some outlier perks that make theirs the highest in the game. In areas where a shotgun isn't viable a sniper still does more damage than a fusion. Fusions are purely lazy/easy. There are no situations where they are actually stronger other than certain objectives like oversoul. Fusions are enough damage for your average LFG but shotguns are MORE damage for those who want to learn them, which is the point of the video.
Merciless is pretty much the exception from other fusions because of it's insane perks. This video is for all the Eremite Edwards. Although shotguns will put do merciless if they are fully optimized with perfect execution. And the expectations drop more if there's no adds for Impetus.
Glitch swapping is patched. I think there's a new work around but it takes more inputs, so it's mostly forgotten now. So now you should just invest in handling and do it normal
You can shotgun swap on console. Before a weapon’s animation of any kind is finished you can do press and hold inputs and it’ll do them as soon as the animation is done, you can press fire and then less than a second after hold swap weapon button/press it, for the next weapon to bring out and it’s not even hard

It's a little boss dependent. I like slugs on war priest and Golg for range, can't use shotguns on sisters, and double pellet all day on Oryx.

Unless its an encounter where range isn't an issue or if I can get one of the warlocks to use lunas which is almost always a no.

The Threat Trench as my main one. An ALH Surrounded for swap, and my pvp roll
