    I actually do something like this but I add turmeric and cinnamon. I recently started looking for milder facial wash and I found out that other people use at least the black soap, rose water and glycerin. Would definitely give this a try.

    I love African Black Soap and often use it to wash my hair. I cleans and softens so nice and never drying to my hair. The soap I have, purchased from my favorite spot in Brooklyn NY "Madina Industrial Corp", comes in large bricks and has particles in it, like twigs etc. I noticed yours was clear with no particles. Are there different types of African Black soaps?

    • @WholeElise
      @WholeElise  4 роки тому +2

      Yes African Black Soap can range in ingredients, colour and texture depending on where it originates from. Mine is from Ghana where they use coconut oil & shea butter, but others will use plantain leaves or other local vegetation. Because real black soap is produced by local people in that region its possible that some contain debris but some suppliers ensure that the bars have a higher purity than others. Mine comes from "Akoma Skincare" but you can shop around a little to find one that works best for you 😊

    Yes! Please make a thicker consistency as well... how would turmeric change the consistency?

    • @WholeElise
      @WholeElise  4 роки тому +4

      Aw thanks Asia! Turmeric should be okay as long as its ground very fine into a powder first - otherwise it can be difficult to fully mix into the face wash so you'll end up with clumps of turmeric or a "grainy" texture. I would pre-blend it with a little water first to make sure that it can dissolve before adding it to your face wash. Hope that helps 😊

    Can you please do a video for a natural face cream for SPF? I have very sensitive skin and everything on the market breaks me out. Can you help please? Also, it has to be something I can use along with an acne gel. Thanks for sharing!

    • @WholeElise
      @WholeElise  4 роки тому +3

      Hi Precious! I'm actually working on making a face cream at the moment so hopefully it will be able to provide some relief! SPF is a tricky one because natural sunscreens that actually work use physical barriers like minerals, rather than chemical ones to protect your skin against both UVA & UVB. They require ingredients that aren't as easily assessable like titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. There are recipes out there that don't use them but they're not very effective and contain a lot of oils that might end up agitating your skin. I'll look into it and see if there's a way to create an effective natural sunscreen that provides proper protection - if I can find something you'll be the first to know! Thanks for asking 😊💚

    • @precioussmith846
      @precioussmith846 4 роки тому +2

      WholeElise you’re exactly right...this can be very tricky. Besides, I don’t need extra oil to irritate the skin, especially when I’m using other oils to moisturize. My skin, I hate! Lol!

      Thank you! Castile soap is a popular natural soap that's widely available. It does have a higher alkaline level than African black soap however, as it's already diluted could be milder on the skin! Another alternative is Moroccan soap that is made from olives, it comes in a paste form and is a naturally milder, more moisturising soap so definitely worth trying! 😊

      It's a very mild cleanser but I'd always recommend testing before trying any product - especially if you have sensitive skin. 😊

    Hello.. 💜 Can I use xanthan gum to thicken??

    • @WholeElise
      @WholeElise  4 роки тому

      Hi Nene! Yes Xanthan would be perfect for this! I'd mix it together with the glycerine first and then add some of the water until it's completely smooth before adding it to the rest of the ingredients. Thanks for watching! 😊💚
