I'm planning to get a PowerQueen battery and a Genasun charge controller to build another solar battery box and compare it to my others (which have Bioenno and PowerMini2 components). Unfortunately, the PowerFilm, while proven excellent quality, is beyond my budget.

How do you choose whether to get Powerfilm 15v panel or 30v panel?
That's a great question! In the end, there are a few variables. For example, if your battery voltage is 24v, a 30v panel will be more efficient. It also won't require a boost charge controller. OTOH, If you're going to use something like the victron 75/15 which accepts a higher voltage panel, the 30v panel isal also ok. If you're using a 12 V battery. But want to reduce the ambridge coming from the solar panel, The 30 volt panel is also okay. The copy act is you need to use a charge controller which can handle that voltage. If you're using your solar system for radio and you want it as RF quiet as possible, a Genasun controller specifically for your battery voltage, coupled with a solar panel just above your battery full charge voltage. In that last example it'll probably be the 15v panels.
