Making A Documentary Film | Camino de Santiago | CHALLENGES

As a result of the interest in my documentary film, set on the Camino de Santiago, I'm making a series of videos that document the journey of making an independent documentary film of this kind.
This video deals with some of the challenges of filmmaking when on a 315km backpacking pilgrimage.

This will be an awesome series. I'd love to hear about the preplanning of the the projected story. I imagine you'll have an idea your trying to capture, but the camino will change everything as you go along. Very nice setup for filming, its very pleasant to look at.

Something unscripted that involves so much travel will present all sorts of surprises, challenges and opportunities. This is going to be an interesting series of videos, and I look forward to seeing your gear choices. I'll be working with minimal consumer gear for my own Camino in April.

Thanks Neil. I've just put all my gear choice together and weighed it, as weight is the biggest challenge on a Camino. I'll try and make a video over the next week or so, I want to take the final gear out and practice using it too, so that will be worth filming.

This sounds like a really cool project. Would love to hear about how you'll be recording audio as I imagine you'll be capturing some of those performances. There's got to be a small light to have on hand to have in a pinch if needed.

I've been putting a lot of thought into audio, and have figured out my solution. All will be revealed in an upcoming video. 🙂
