Thank you for doing this! Very informative. I was found to have carcinoma in situ in 2/20 and was treated with TURBT and BCG. Recently a suspicious area was found, and I had a biopsy and intravesical Gemcitabine only last week. Waiting results. My question is,,, If cancerous cells can be seen in the urine with a special urine test, then why isn't this used all the time rather than expensive cystoscopes.?
I'll have my sixth BCG treatment next week for HG CIS. So far, I've had no side-effects at all, other than one day of frequency. If my cystoscopy in early Feb. 2024 shows some remaining cancer, is it the case that I should just continue BCG for longer?
