You do exactly what I've been doing for over 40 years of living in a heavily wooded area. I also have an X758, now the trick to this is having gator blades. Without them it won't work! Doing this method is not only cheaper and easier it turns the chopped leaves into natural fertilizer. And you don't have to go and dump the leaves or bag the leaves, you're finished!!!!!
I have the mulcher on my X758 it's the best thing I bought. I use it when cutting the grass, I do not get any clumps at all, even when the grass is fairly long. I get leaves like you do and I go over them once where they lie, and the mulcher grounds the leaves down which leaves natural fertilizer for the lawn. No need to pile the leafs at all.
pretty much how I do fall cleanup. Ive got a routine down where basically I mow "into" the pile twice, then in the 3rd pass I blow the leaves outward. Obviously isnt 100% but it spreads the "fertilizer" across the entire lawn this way.
I am tempted to buy a x758 to get that powerful fiesel engine. I currently own a 2001 simplicity legacy 20 hp gas engine with 60" shaft driven deck,. It does a good job of chopping up leaves into very fine particles. I do not have a mulching kit on it.
My friend had a hydraulic one installed on his. I believe he said it was 1,200. I didn't like the way it left clumps of grass in the yard even when the grass was short.

awesome! Thanks for watching.
A shoot blocker would have saved you a lot of time / fuel and greatly minimized the amount of passes you did. Leaving an even nicer and cleaner look !
Thanks for the advise. I will try it next year.

That's how I do it
Nice! Thanks for watching.
Pretty much what I do with my oak trees.
Sweet. Thanks for watching.
No sure where you got $1200 from, I bought a manuel mulching kit for my X758 for $350 installed, only way to go, looks like you might need one

No clumpy grass with my hydraulic mulcher set up.
Works great. Also was about $450.00 for the blades, hydraulic gate and mulch kit.
