Do i have a faulty packet or is this how they supposed to sound?
they sound suprisingly present for flatwounds
@@Cake_Doge They sound much more like rounds at first. The last set i had, tho it was a thicker gauge, sounded very bright at first. Then gradually sounded more like flats. These ones are a thinner gauge, and sound harsh as f**k
I really like playing fancy but I was at the rehearsal the other day I started to go high to elevate the song but the main problem is that you lose the bottom end and suddenly you stop vibrating the whole room, your bandmates and the audiance if it is a live situation. I think it is a good idea to have fun with all the notes while maintaining a solid groove. Great playing btw.
You definitely have to think differently with a a band. But every bands different. It it's an originals band, i like to try and be as creative as possible. If the guitarist doesn't like it, probs not the band for me. I've been lucky in that case, never had that problem. Covers bands are another story lol.
Cheers!
@@OMS111 wish I had a band that is open to new ideas and not afraid of trying different things. Sticking to the majority and playing safe really hurts the music.
@@Cake_Doge Is that the situation with your current band?
It does, It was a bit of a problem with my last band. It started off experimental, everyone seemed open to new ideas then gradually faded out. Now we just don't try
Nice playing mate love the song what is it
Some improv Bass playing with added drums and acoustic guitar...
_thin bass sound / major string buzz_
Dude, did you do that on purpose?! 😅
I know, they sound terrible. I've never had to do a setup when putting on a new pair of strings. I think i might have to with these. Or just buy a different set
You're not the only one.
I bought a brand new Fender American Pro II P Bass and had my regular guy do the set up but all the store had was Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats.
They sound like garbage. Way too thin and buzzy for my liking.
So it's not not just me then. I had the previous strings on for about 8 month tho. So maybe taken them off, after being on so long messed things up a bit? The intonation was completely off as well, who knows?
@@OMS111 I just got new flats in the mail, Rotosounds (prefer LaBella's, but shipping was too long). It was DEFINITELY the cobalts, and not the guitar. Strings sound SO MUCH better.
@@mpc79 Would you recommend Labellas? I've been using Ernie Ball strings for so long now, i almost forgot there's other brands out there
