Steve, you don't need to know how to build 'em......just keep playing the royal way you do, man, and that will keep us happy (along with your amazing voice!) for decades to come!
Congrats to both legends, Luke and Ernie Ball!! 👏 Also I saw Vinnie Moore @ 0:27. Would be cool if he got an Ernie Ball signature. 🎸 Thanks 4 making such outstanding guitars and helping Luke continue to inspire!
Luke is my all time favorite guitarist, as the name shows. He keeps me inspired and motivated to better myself at not just guitar but every other instrument I’ve learned. Thanks Luke, couldn’t ask for a better inspiration👍
I started playing because of him, he is just the best guitarist out there. My first e-guitar is an LIII that I saved money for for ages. And it's the best guitar I could have ever imagined. ❤
I love Music Man. I have an 83’ Stingray bass that just kicks ass. I also have a 2010 Stingray 5 string but there’s nothing like that 83’. That’s being passed down to my son when I’m gone since his mom bought it for me brand new when we didn’t have 2 nickels to rub together and hopefully he’ll pass it on down too. Thanks MusicMan for making such badass instruments for all of these years!
I've owned 3 Lukes...ALL stellar instruments in their own right...I've since paired that down to an amazing BFR Luke II...but I have a feeling I might have to have one of those amazing Steamrollers...those look absolutely AMAZING...keep up the stellar work MusicMan!!!
Two of my favorites guitars are Luke 1 and Luke II and even today, after long time relationship, those two wooden chicks plays heavenly! God bless Steve Lukather for his ideas and Music Man to have the crafting needed to build it!❤❤❤❤
I played an L2 that had a surprisingly thin neck...very comfortable. How similar are the necks between your L1 and L2?? Do you know if the L3 neck is similar?? Thank you!
@@joenardulli6685 My Luke 1’s neck is little bit beefier, if you know what I means, but (I think) was just because he came out from Valley Arts McGuire’s guitars and some of’em had slightly larger necks…but, in both ways, are really playable and comfortable!
GREAT guitars... 1st impression was an EVH model back in the day. Fell in love with the feel and the tones. Still one of my favorite guitar memories 🤙🏼
@@RolanTHUNDER went to look for it as soon as i made this comment, it was actually the L3my bad, but it was very entertaining because he's never played it and he got put on the spot
Hearing Luke play that L4 with Toto, I am sold. Love that natural look on that, too. The pickups are insane! Could not believe I was hearing single coils but it could clean up perfectly as well.
you are hearing it first right here...I nominate Steve Lukather to be our next P.o.TUS....... he might be the only one who is impossible to dislike and could save us
I'm sure Steve Lukather is always trying to hide how highly intelligent he actually is in many things, being humble and all. And love his sense of humor. what a guy! what a guitar! i had that first LUKE the dark blue one with floydrose and stupid of me to have sold it very cheap.
This was really interesting. I only started learning how to play this guitar 6 weeks ago & I'm documenting my entire learning journey on here so this was super motivational!
Steve I have one of your Family Reserve Luke's with the EMG's. Still use it after 15 years of use. But I did put larger gauge strings on it and added springs to the bridge wami. Still love it!
We need a full length doc on this relationship and the guitars. I love my JP so much. The only thing I wish I had was a sustainiac. Do I even risk I’m having one put in? I’ll never ever sell it but I’d hate to have it ruined. If I do I may just get rid of my other guitars. I just don’t need ‘em. Thanks EB!
@@tommilitello198 thanks. I’ve thought about this too. I don’t mind using the pickup split push pull but the system requires two switches and I need that push pull boost. So I’d need 1 hold at least which is fine as this guitar will never be sold. It’s a BFR I got brand new but considered used for way less than it was worth. I already installed a TremolNo but that’s easy to undo. I do have a concern about room in the body for the system? Thanks for your help!! Btw, my screen image is my guitar.
Have never liked the 'blade switch' for the bridge/neck pick ups. But these guitars are just sublime - if they didn't have a blade switch I would def buy one. SL is a genuine icon.
I really want to thank Steve and Music Man making an affordable Sterling signature model. It really helps those who dont have 3 grand to spend, can get a great guitar for aroubd $700 ! Wish Sterling made Morse and Albert Lee models too.
Steve Lukather, in my opinion is the best of all time. No-one plays with his attack and melodic feel. There are quicker guys out there, but that means jack.
The guy is so nice, I could imagine myself going to the pub with him and have a really nice time. But when he's playing he turns into some kind of a musical god. Still trying to learn to play the wonderfull piece he did on his video of Transition Pick ups. Half of the views must be mine :-)
One of the funniest videos I've ever seen,.....is of Steve getting woke up by neighbors cutting a tree up and doing lawn work. He rolls out a half stack and his guitar into his back yard and just let thst amp RRRRIP!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂All the while his in his skivvies and robe just screaming profanity while playing. It's really great.
I admit that I liked the sound better when he played with Valley Arts. But anyway, you give this man a broom with 4 strings and he makes it sound like blessed glory.
Man! Take the 1992 dark blue proto color and slap on the L3 neck and ernie bridge onto the L4 "everything else electronics body" and you got yourself an EXCALIBUR of a guitar!
It's a shame Music Man guitars are not being sold in Brazil. Awesome instruments. Years ago I played a Axis Sport of a friend of mine and it blew my mind. The best axe I ever played. Love the designs, quality and tone.
Unquestionably the cream of the crop in the guitar industry. Next to E.S.P./LTD and a small handfull of brands, the MusicMan/Sterling names are synonymous with innovation and cutting edge gear. It's pretty safe to say, Luke knows about these things, just a little bit.
Luke is my favorite player of all time, took me until age 35 to actually realize he wrote the soundtrack of my life, through good and bad, 57 years later…I own BFR HH Tumescent, L3 HSS custom shop, and proudly own a Bareback SSS. I LOVE THIS GUITAR & I must have the same hand shape and neck preference for the Luke signature. The tones of these guitars are amazing and trustworthy but all different in individual tones. The pink pack EB strings can’t be representative as Paradigm is Lukes choice. The squish of the EB PInk packs are cool but they don’t feel good, and they don’t meet the performance of the NYXL pink pack 9-42’s in my honest opinion. The L4 Bareback is amazing best put; “I’m telling you right now that mf’r is not real!!”
I love the first musicman with the Bradshaw stuff in the ‘90 Check Luke birthday party with David Garfield en Will Lee👌🏽 That sound was so f c k powerfull
Fine looking instrument, love Steve and have been lucky enough to have seen him play live. Sadly these guitars retail for thousands of pounds in the uk, so definitely not a guitar for the working man. I think a lot of Musicman guitars end up in hardcase’s securely stored rather than used. Love to own one but even second prices are out of my reach.
Steve Lukather is a treasure to the world. Such a killer musician and a great dude.
How can you not love that guy. One of my favourites ever.
Ernie Ball seems to make some of the best guitars out there. From the woods down to the very last mm of detail they're always perfect
I just saw Luke with Ringo in Ontario over the weekend. What a fantastic guitarist and humble man. Love him!!
Saw Steve play in 2012 for G3 concert in Melbourne. He was amazing. Truly great guitarist.
With Satch & Vai.
Yep, saw them in Brisbane. Wonderful evening!
Steve seems such a nice person, humble and funny, and obviously a music legend and guitar god!
Lukather my forever hero. Great L4 release.

My favourite musician of all time.
Legendary guitarist and vocalist . Love you and Toto forever. Greeting from Myanmar.
Congrats! Luke is one of the all time greats!

I want one!🙂
Fell in love with Lukes when I played a friend's during a jam session. I now own 3 of them, including a BFR. Looks like I'm gonna be adding a 4th!
Long live Steve 👏🏻
He has been my favorite from day one of hearing he has the IT factor still has it the best of the best.

Love Luke! My first front row seat was catching Toto in a relatively small, GREAT sounding venue in Vancouver circa 85' and what a show it was...

yeah, he is very self-deprecating but I guarantee you he knows a lot about pickups/technical stuff.
What an amazing human being and player.
