    Hey man you've saved me in the past and hoping to bug you once more... Short version: If the IFP is pushed too far down can that cause issues with functionality? Like making the damper really stiff and springy?
    Long version:
    I just did my rebuild for the 2nd time and everything went smooth. When I put 120 PSI in the IFP chamber the shock becomes really stiff and when I compress the shaft by hand it springs up incredibly fast/harsh. I noticed that with lower PSI it feels much smoother and returns at a normal rate but don't want to run the shock at 40 PSI in the chamber. After opening the IFP chamber I do notice the IFP moves freely with the shaft. But I also noticed the IFP itself was actually pushed a bit too far down. Around 36-37mm vs the 34 it should be. Is this 2-3mm difference causing all this trouble? It's a 50mm stroke but not sure if that's relevant since they're all the same now. Thanks in advance you've been a saint!

    • @kraZeyWorld
      @kraZeyWorld  Рік тому +2

      Welcome back :D First things first. Messing up the IFP position by 2-3 mm should not cause this kind of problem. Did you disassemble the main piston - see part/drawings*?
      In my opinion there are the following options/fails that can cause this behaviour:
      - main piston assembled upside down: www.ridefox.com/fox17/img/help/page1026-T6ND/805-00-105-KIT.jpg
      see fillet - the valve shim 044-04-070 would never fully close the bypass
      - shimstack messed up or the valve shim (044-04-070) is damaged
      - something (e.g. a chip) on the piston does not allow the valve shim to fully close
      - one or both of the valve seat assemblies are damaged or stuck and are always open (located behind the damping adj assemblies) - e.g. www.ridefox.com/fox17/img/help/page1026-T6ND/808-17-360-KIT.jpg

      @@kraZeyWorldFirst off, you're the best haha. Need to Venmo you a 12 pack or something! I'm hoping it's something on the piston assembly. I thought I got it right but I'm about to go take it apart again and look. I forgot they had those diagrams with all the parts. I noticed I did miss that plastic washer that goes on the shaft. Might be the culprit? I should mention that the lockout and rebound aren't working at all currently but were working fine before. I didn't open the rebound before doing the service. Not sure if that's an issue. I'll report back if I find anything. Thanks again man!

    Can I bleed it anyway than taking all apart again ?

      Yes, this is correct. I would use the Fox Racing Shox Suspension Fluid R3 5 WT ..pretty good oil. If u want use something different u shoul have a look to the datasheet. Not every 5 WT oil is really 5 WT (viscosity x at °C or density etc.)
      e.g.: FOX at 40°C --> 14 cst, RockShox at 40°C --> 16.02 cst
      Not a big difference in that case but this should only be an example. In any case, your current setup will change with a different oil.

    Hello I have a problem on my dhx2. After driving for a while, my dhx2 leaks abnormally a lot of oil at the wiper seal. Where could the problem come from? Can be changing some seal? Thank you for your answer 🤙

      I am pretty sure u have a damaged Q-Ring (035-00-110) in the bearing assambly, see: www.ridefox.com/fox17/img/help/page561-iEoulT/812-06-080-KIT.jpg

      @@liamfurcade6898 Changing the q-ring seal is pretty easy. After removing the bearing assambly (0:55) you have to remove the nut on the top of the piston assambly on the shaft (be aware of the shimming). After that you can remove the piston and bearing assambly and you are able to change the q-ring. If after changing the q-ring there is still a leakage at the wiper seal, then the shaft is damaged (scratches on the shaft).

      It's the same shock, except for unthreading the damping unit (1:24). First you have to remove the 2-pos lever with an 1.5 mm allen key and after that you can unthread the damping unit with a 15 mm socket/wrench.

      @@kuruc71 Do it like in the video described. I do not know why this should not work. You have to reinstall (temporarily) the bearing assambly and blow out the IFP by injecting compressed air via the bleeding port on the back of the adjuster eyelet.
