One of her supreme performances with an excellent tenor accompanist. Magical. Sends shivers down my spine.

I believe this is the longer version of the one she did at 9 in the Semi-Finals. In just 2 years to improve this much. She outstanding as a singer and personality. Love your reaction to this beautiful young lady. Fan of both of you from Fresno, CA USA
It is. This is the Bach / Gounod version and there is also the Shubert version, which uses the same words, but a different melody. In English, it's the Hail Mary prayer. Then there is the newer Gomez version which she sang at the Canisius Church. There are probably others.

You really ought to react to the Ave Maria Gomez version, which she sang in the same 2015 Christmas season. It will blow you socks off.
One thing that is critical about Amira is her natural personality and her complete comfort on a large stage.. Right from the start. This Christmas concert happens in Reykjavik every December. I had just discovered Amira online earlier that year 2015 and made a last minute decision to fly to Iceland (from Ireland not too far or expensive) for this concert to hear Amira. The whole concert was gorgeous, the Icelandic people lovely, and Iceland in the snow, the landscape mesmerizing. Amira sang two songs and wowed the audience, and looked stunning in that dress which her mother had made for her. Certainly a night to remember..

……Something special about Amira…….
Not only singing from the bottom of her heart….. also giving from the bottom of her heart…….from the start of winning Holland Got Talent, she gave part of her gage for children to play in Africa.
And also at young age, in 2014 ( than she is only 10 year of age ) She startend her OWN foundation 🍀 gelukskinders 🍀, she gives her concert money for 2 playgrounds for children each year. This year she will become 18, and is planning the 18’ playground. That makes her so happy and so beautifull. ( And me too )

Amira has sung the Ave Maria several times over the years in versions by Gounod/Bach (Latin lyrics), William Gomez (Spanish lyrics), and Caccini/Vavilov (lyrics with just the expression "Ave Maria"). This duet singing Gounod/Bach version was with the great Icelandic tenor Gissur Páll Gissurarson, who in the two previous months had participated in the opera The Barber of Seville. Keep up the great work!

Another great reaction. This version is the Gounod/Bach version which is the popular in Europe. The popular version in the US is the Shubert written version which is what your probably are used to hearing. Amira also sings the Gomez and Coccina version , very well I might add. A bit of trivia a few days after she performed in Iceland she came home to the Netherlands and performed in the Canisus Church in Nijmegen the Gomez version of Ave Maria.. This really is a must reaction cause it is widely popular among her fan base. After these two performances I then knew Amira was something special.

She was 9 years old and sang in Holland got talent .In these case , surprise you that the child so young could sing in this way . The version that you are probably familiar with, is the Schubert Ave Maria. This is the Bach/Gounod version (both have latin lyrics). There are at least half a dozen versions - as well as these, one by Vavilov/Cassini, one by Gomez (Spanish lyrics) - all of which Amira has sung, though it was 2018 before she sang the Schubert one (it had some low notes that her early voice could not manage) - and several others. One could also, perhaps, include the Sancta Maria by Mascagni, which she has also sung.
To make things more complicated, Schubert himself never composed an Ave Maria on the lyrics we most often hear, which are nothing but the Latin original of the Hail Mary prayer. Rather, the so-called Schubert Ave Maria is part of a larger work, a German translation from Sir Walter Scott's poem The Lady of the Lake; the so-called Ave Maria is Ellen's 3rd Song, in which Ellen indeed invokes the Virgin Mary as she lives in hiding in a cavern with her father. The tragic story behind Schubert's composition may explain why it is the most beautiful of all "Ave Maria's". Likewise Mascagni did not compose a Sancta Maria. The music of the song is in fact an Intermezzo from Mascagni's opera Cavaliera Rusticana, the opera we see in Godfather III in which the Michael Corleone's son performs. Whomever had the idea of using the music to create an Ave Maria had a brilliant idea !
Oh ! I almost forgot ! Neither Bach nor Gounod actually composed the Ave Maria we are now hearing. The Bach music was the first prelude from the Well tempered clavier. Gounod made a piano improvisation from the prelude. A pianist friend of Gounod named Zimmerman arranged the music for the Ave Maria we now know. Had this taken place in the modern days in America, a couple of decades' worth of copyright litigation would have ensued and the song would have been forbidden !

The lyrics of this Ave Maria here, just as dozens of others, are the Latin version of the prayer. This one is from a non lyrical work by XVIII th century composer Johan Sebastian Bach called the first prelude from the Well-Tempered Clavier. French composer Gounod created a piano improvisation from the Bach prelude, and finally it became used to sing an Ave Maria.
