Whoa that's like spot on, the only thing keeping u from sounding exactly like his song is Well You aren't woodentoaster. Great though, absolutely great! How can I make this effect?
Tommy I know this is an old comment but that pretty much sums it up. It sounds like the effect is spot on, it’s just that you quite literally just aren’t woodentoaster lol. Nice work
I have nothing else to do so I'll just comment about this... You know, I keep replaying this so much! If I even try to do this I'll sound like a dying cow lmao. About a year ago or two I found this cover and I was totally amazed. Now I'm back here again. I looked on your channel and you have some great videos! I subscribed because they're good. Keep up the good work man omfg. *dies over nothing
***** I do almost everything in FL Studio, however you can do this effect in whatever digital audio workstation you want, as long as you have Melodyne.
It is a pretty sweet effect. Glaze has been a huge inspiration for me, both musically and in terms of vocal effects. That's why I'm hoping to do a tutorial of this effect in the future, as a way to show him "hey, you're pretty cool."
Still sounds great. Almost 6 years later. ( was looking at my channel seen you posted on it since you couldnt reply to me on here at the time. so i went and found the video it was on and this was it ) Sounds awesome though i like how your vocals sound more human then Glaze just sounds better honestly.
Techno Glitch Hmmm... that's odd. What version of FL 12 do you have? To my knowledge, NewTone is only available, in full form, in the Signature Bundle. In all other versions, it doesn't allow you to render out audio files from the editor (unless you specifically buy the plugin).
Techno Glitch The audio quality doesn't degrade when you have demo versions. It just limits the features. Like, for NewTone, the demo version doesn't let you export. You might be able to get a workaround by recording it with Edison, though. Or you could just buy it. If you're pretty much set on FL as a DAW, I strongly encourage you to save up and buy it. I've been using it for years now, and I haven't looked back. Definitely a worthwhile investment. =)
Techno Glitch As I've mentioned with other people, I won't be doing the tutorial for this effect until I finish my "Getting a Great Vocal Sound" series, and until I've finished doing tutorials on relevant effects used to create this sound. My tutorials are cumulative, so that everyone can come into them knowing almost nothing, and still be able to follow along. Also, so you know, I'm planning on doing this voice in the same tutorial as other related voices (GLaDOS, personality cores, Sweetie Bot). So please bear with me while I get everything straightened out. I know it's going to take a while, but I want to do this right.
Hey this sounds great! You did a great job! What software are you using, if you don't mind me asking. I am a Reason user and have been having some trouble with modifying the vocals :P But seriously. Great job!
Ah, Reason's a great DAW. I'm not a user of it, but I'm a fan. In that case, you would want to get your hands on Melodyne. I put a link in the description to a discussion forum where Glaze talks about how he makes the effect in Melodyne.
I would love you if you made a tutorial on exactly how to do it. I don't understand audio editing and I just want to impress my friends, I need to know how to do this vocal
Well you're in luck. I have plans for a tutorial on this effect in the works. It may be a little while before I get a chance to release it, but I do plan on making one. So stay tuned. =)
TheSirMica Hey, sorry for the delay. My current plan is to finish my "Getting a Great Vocal Sound" series before I get to this effect, because I want to make sure people have the foundational knowledge needed to make it correctly. After all, the most fundamental aspect of a great vocal effect is a great vocal sound.
+Aerogames123 Hey, I haven't gotten to it yet. Just finished my Getting A Great Vocal Sound series, and I have about 8-10 other tutorials to do before I get to the Glaze one, as there's a lot of stuff that I need to explain beforehand in order for the Glaze tutorial to make sense.
+DactamGaming see description. Also, my advice to people who can't afford it: save up. If this is something you're passionate about, then you'll want to save up for it.
Hah, nicely done actually, especially for doing it with nothing but Newtone, Melodyne is actually better though because the audio comes out sounding much fuller from it and you can make tweaks to the pitch modulation and such on a much more precise level. If you wanted to try redoing this even I could send you the actual vocal stems from the project, both the "dry" and "wet" versions, dry basically being how they were straight from Melodyne and Wet with the added processing effects.
Cr4z3d Dammit though you actually do this BETTER than I do, lol, and I even somewhat know it more in detail. It's because I suck at the actual mixing and mastering :P can do the actual effecting fine.
Cr4z3d Well I will be doing a tutorial on this in the future, so while you may already know how to do the effect, I can at least show you how I did it.
Никита Ларионов I do almost everything in FL Studio, however you can do this effect in whatever digital audio workstation you want, as long as you have Melodyne.
It's actually not a vocoder at all. There's a link in the description to a forum thread on MyLittleRemix, where Glaze explains how the effect is created.
XxTomb StoneXx I plan on doing a tutorial on this effect in the future. In the meantime, check out the link in the description for WoodenToaster's explanation.
Audacity is doing this? I'm not sure what to say; I've never had that problem before. Indeed, I'm having trouble replicating it in Audacity. I think you might be better off checking on the Audacity forums or something like that.
+Jackson Zee (Ton-Ton) You need Melodyne. The version you want costs $200. Audacity could record your vocal, but only Melodyne could process it like this.
ShalMusicFX That's alright. The reason why I asked is because I have an animated series and we need more one more male actor. We also need someone to mess with the voices a bit too. I was wondering if you'd like to voice act for me. It's ok if not, but it'd be cool to have someone like you on the team!
+Crippling Frog I really appreciate the offer, but I have a ton of stuff on my plate nowadays, so I don't know how well I could commit to something like that.
I THINK I GOT IT!!! I have (after screwing around in Melodyne) found something that sounds very similar to what you guys may be looking for. Just click here to take a listen: www.dropbox.com/home?preview=NMN+Remake.wav

If you wanted to, you could download a mobile version of a digital audio workstation (i.e. FL Studio Mobile), record your voice into it, and then apply some of the effects they have in there (reverb, delay, distortion, EQ). Not super fancy, but it could work if that's what you're going for? That's the thing: "modify your vocal" is not very specific. I would need to know HOW you want to modify it in order to provide better help.
Photofrost0332 Lol Are there voices in Five Nights at Freddy's? I've seen Markiplier's playthrough of all 4 games, and to my knowledge, the only voices are Telephone Guy and the random counting voice in the background of the 8-bit part of FNAF 2.
I must admit it's pretty close but it's pretty good.
Thanks. =)
ShalMusicFX would you make a video of the whole song with your version ?
sneaky g Would, but I can't rap. =P
ShalMusicFX I was just curious if you make a video of your version of nightmare night.
sneaky g I might make a cover of it someday. Once I learn how to rap. Or I could do that "rap vocoder" thing I did for Somewhere I Belong.
I like this part in 0:43 I REPLAY THAT PART 2426 TIMES I LIKED SO MUCH!!!!
I think the modified vocal was better
That was really impressive--near perfect replication. Great job!
These vocal modifications you have done here are very good.
Aiden Phillips Thanks! =)
Wow, even without the effect you're still pretty good!
+DexterityDan Heheh, thanks. =)
All the vocals you did are good mate well done
Wow! Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whoa that's like spot on, the only thing keeping u from sounding exactly like his song is

Thanks! And don't worry: I'll be doing a tutorial on this one soon.
Pretty cool. You got a lot of effort in it and I like it.
+Mar Shunna Alvarado thank you. :)
THIS GAVE ME CHILLS
You nailed it, man! I've been trying myself, but to no great effect. Glad to see you got it, though~!
I'd be happy to show you how in a later tutorial.
ShalMusicFX That would be awesome!
ShalMusicFX What audio software do you use?
*****
I do almost everything in FL Studio, however you can do this effect in whatever digital audio workstation you want, as long as you have Melodyne.
Okay thanks
Whoa that's cool xD I've always liked how his voice sounded there lol
It is a pretty sweet effect. Glaze has been a huge inspiration for me, both musically and in terms of vocal effects. That's why I'm hoping to do a tutorial of this effect in the future, as a way to show him "hey, you're pretty cool."
That is so amazing, i loved it. :33
GoldenBonnie Cat-Matt Thank you for the kind words. =)
I stumbled across this video in my recommended feed. it sounds pretty darn close!
+Scorppio500 Webmaster thanks!
Awesome voice!

Woah, that's sound very cool
I should try doing that thing, thanks for the link of Glaze's tip.
Ahhh I can't wait 'till the tutorial comes out! :0
+Undertrap You won't have long to wait. Just about 4-5 more tutorials.
Oh,they came?
Knif3plays Not yet. About 2-3 more tutorials yet.
ShalMusicFX Fucking hell
I love your effect, and i personaly like you for this
Knif3plays Glad to hear it, I guess? =P
This is the most amazing price of art I have ever heard in my entire life. Please make a video on how to make such a creation. Thanks for reading ^.^

ShalMusicFX oh yeah. forgot it might be there. thanks!
Pretty good!
Look man you have an awesome voice regardless of what vocal effect you used xD

+Toothless Thanks. =)

bamboo200119 Thank you. =)
That was really good.
His voice alone is beautiful
Glaze does have a very nice voice.
the raw vocak version is really good!
welp...in my opinion.
exelent work sound very similar!
0:33 MY EYES THEY ARE BURNING!
You listen with your eyes? =P
Sounds a lot better.
Oh my god. That works! :D
This is soooo AWESOME!!!! You HAVE to make a cover of Awoken like this!
+TheScoliosisWarrior11 [Warrior] I might, once I have an idea of how I could make it my own.
Raw vocal is best.
We need a tutorial for this! I've always wanted to sound like glaze!

modified is best vocal. this was actually pretty good.
Thanks. I appreciate it. Maybe someday I'll be as good as Toaster.
This is Awesome. You should throw your Vocals into Your own vocal cover of Nightmare night and replace glaze. I think it would sound good.
I would love you if you made a tutorial on exactly how to do it. I don't understand audio editing and I just want to impress my friends, I need to know how to do this vocal

oh god the isolation
Can u make video how to do this effect? I just Russian, and don't know all English. I need you're help.
+Fivent Play I will be making one, hang in there. =)
You should try doing rainbow factory
if you have the sam program you can build his song down and find his voice
He also gives away the vocal samples and the instrumentals for this song for free.
Holy shit, you sound just like SylphStorm
Did you ever end up making a tutorial for this? I saw you said you might in the decription. Did it ever come around?
+Aerogames123 Hey, I haven't gotten to it yet. Just finished my Getting A Great Vocal Sound series, and I have about 8-10 other tutorials to do before I get to the Glaze one, as there's a lot of stuff that I need to explain beforehand in order for the Glaze tutorial to make sense.

Aerogames123
Thanks, you're very kind.
dude, so awesome! how did you do it? i keep getting something that sounds like a effing monster!
+DactamGaming Of course, I also can't afford anything by image line, nor can I afford melodyne. basically broke :/

alright. thanks

I mean, I've already made a tutorial for it, so I guess it's already pretty cool?
Shal Music/FX it’s really cool! I want to listen to your full version
I mean, this is the full version. I've not made a full cover of the song.
You da man
Blarg Thank you. =)
Still waiting tutorial. Please >
+Silver Acre Should be about 4 tutorials from now.
is there a download for that custom preset?
This isn't something that can really be made with a "preset," as I'll be demonstrating in the tutorial in a few weeks.
ok thanks for responding :)
mazing
c'mon, yu have a beautiful singing voice
It's good, I just don't show it off well in this video. =P
With what program did you do that ?
Никита Ларионов I do almost everything in FL Studio, however you can do this effect in whatever digital audio workstation you want, as long as you have
Melodyne.
Man that'S that real trap! how u do that!? Vocoder I guess. but what vocoder?
It's actually not a vocoder at all. There's a link in the description to a forum thread on MyLittleRemix, where Glaze explains how the effect is created.
Dude what do you use? I used audacity ive been trying to figure out how to do that
XxTomb StoneXx I plan on doing a tutorial on this effect in the future. In the meantime, check out the link in the description for WoodenToaster's explanation.
Thanks and every time i record something it just repeats the first verse .-.
XxTomb StoneXx I don't know if I follow. You're going to have to give me more information about your problem.
like it just records the first couple of words i say and just repeats it over and over
Audacity is doing this? I'm not sure what to say; I've never had that problem before. Indeed, I'm having trouble replicating it in Audacity. I think you might be better off checking on the Audacity forums or something like that.
lalalala it goes Around te world lalalaoa

In the original, the voice could be seen muffled.
can ya make a tutorial please?

I wouldn't go that far. =P
Lol
Where do you go to download Voxfx?
+RANGER937 VoxFX is the name of my series of tutorial videos. It's not a piece of software.
then what program did you use?
***** See description.
+ShalMusicFX Thanks man :)
Dude, how do you feel about voice acting? :0
+Crippling Frog I've never really tried it. And I don't know if I'd be good at it. I'm not the best actor, and voice acting is 80% acting.
ShalMusicFX no that's ok! I'm glad I was able to ask though. If you need art or an animation hit me up my dude :)
😀😉
I THINK I GOT IT!!! I have (after screwing around in Melodyne) found something that sounds very similar to what you guys may be looking for. Just click here to take a listen: www.dropbox.com/home?preview=NMN+Remake.wav
I'll be doing a tutorial on this effect in the coming weeks, probably next month or so.
ShalMusicFX I know, but is this pretty close to what you are doing?
ShalMusicFX I added a low harmony, and a high one as well.
JGreenPON3 I can't open the file. My dropbox isn't cooperating.
ShalMusicFX Damn. Can I send it to you through e-mail?
oh god xD
i'm dead O_O
(attempts to resuscitate)
911 we have a murderer
I want you to sing the whole song
I can't rap.
ShalMusicFX can tou song the whole nightmare night song
bloodstone drawer I mean, I can sing the parts that are sung, but the majority of the vocals are rapping done by MicTheMicrophone. I'm nowhere near as good at rapping as he is.
+ShalMusicFX no sing it the same when you song woodentoasters part I was like this.... is .... so... goooood!
bloodstone drawer
So should I just do toaster's parts and skip over the rapping? Or should I try to SING the rapping?
HOW?!
+Rainbow Vasilev See description. =)
is there a app too modifie my vocal?
+Photofrost0332 Lol Yes. It's called Melodyne. Though I would hesitate to call it an "app." It's a desktop software application.
Cool is there any for a mobile phone?
Photofrost0332 Lol
Are there voice-changer apps? Yes. Are there ones that can do this voice? Probably not. And if there are, they're definitely not free.

+ShalMusicFX Thanks that should help me and U have a beautiful vocal .oh And u should do Fnaf voices
Photofrost0332 Lol
Are there voices in Five Nights at Freddy's? I've seen Markiplier's playthrough of all 4 games, and to my knowledge, the only voices are Telephone Guy and the random counting voice in the background of the 8-bit part of FNAF 2.
Not bad
+Brony Drony Thanks.
Noyce
+rT Shadoww Danke. =)
ShalMusicFX I dun thought you spoke english xD
rT Shadoww
I do. I just happen to like saying Danke.
ShalMusicFX Well, Can't blame you, I love to say Dankah too much xP
I like the original best
Joshua Voiers It's kind of hard for me to compete with Glaze, really. =P
ShalMusicFX Lol True but just remember it's your videos so you get the final say
