I have a theory about the story of Rainbow Factory, Awoken, and Prototype VIP: Prototype VIP is what happens first, a pegasus is obsessed with becoming the perfect machine, and in his quest for perfection, he removes (almost) all semblance of anything capable of producing emotions. Rainbow factory comes after, where this pegasus has created the factory and doesn't care about how the rainbows are created. It doesn't matter how many ponies must die to create rainbows because the pegasus has seemingly lost all emotion. The voice singing this is entirely robotic, further proof that this takes place after Prototype VIP. Awoken is the last in this story, the song about how there's a small part of the original pony still left in the machine with emotions, a part that has awoken and realised the horrible things they've done. It's a song of regret for what they've done, "pushed by desire to change the way my stream will flow" is referring to when they become a robot and lost control. The cover art for this song is more evidence for this theory, as one half is showing half the face of the original pony before they turned themselves into a machine, and the other is showing half the face of the robotic pony that they are now. The robotic pony has yellow eyes and the original has green, but the art for the song "Prototype VIP" has a pony with yellow eyes, though this can be explained with the idea that the pony in the art for Prototype VIP has simply switched their eye color already, and we're seeing their robotic eyes. We don't know the story after this point. There's just one thing I can't figure out, and that is: why build the rainbow factory? What reason did this pegasus have for doing this? Of course, this is just a theory, and there might just be an official story from Woodentoaster and I just never saw it, but I just wanted to share what I thought the link between the songs were.
It could also be applied to rainbow dash, but instead of prototype VIP, it’s Pegasus device that shows how far dash is willing to go to make rainbows for equestria, and goes down the route of insanity, including scootaloo, her adopted sister in it, and the corrupt Pegasi were explained in rainbow factory, and dash realizing all the damage she has done in awoken, and the some of the lyrics from awoken are scientifically are proven to need lots of emotion to understand.

It would explain why he only uploads every 1-2 years and only responded with "pulse confirmed" when someone worried he was dead (either that or is just super busy with something else going on in his life, but I love making assumptions). I don't know if you'll even see this or how close I am to the truth, but if I'm right, here's my advice: write from the heart. Don't let your brain overanalyze your work and criticize it beyond what is possible to expect. We are always our biggest critic, and while sometimes that can be a good thing, like when there are standards we can't afford to miss, other times, like here, there's not going to be a right or wrong. We've loved everything you put out thus far, and I don't doubt we'd love anything you put out going forward. Just give us something, you know? on the other hand (and perhaps contradictory), don't rush perfection. If you are absolutely certain you can achieve perfection (a rare feat indeed, though I'd say this song got DAMN close), then set a "SMART" (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bounded) goal that you think will provide sufficient time, and if it's meant to be, you'll get it. That's how it ends up going with my school assignments: I have a deadline, and the closer it gets, the more effective I seem to get at pulling off miracles in terms of efficiency and "perfection".

For me this is one of those songs that give you a vibe no other song can give you, this song is truly unique and it makes me feel so good for some reason...i've been listening to this since like I was 13, and I am now 18 (almost 19) still enjoying this masterpiece.
I remember when this song was first released I was in 11th grade... I ran off from class so I could listen to it for the first time. I hid in a supply closet. Still is one of my favorite songs and I have this crazy memory to go with it.

From a political stance, the Rainbow Factory is absolutely fascinating to me. We have a race that demands absolute perfection from its populace, to the point where any smudge against its reputation cannot be allowed. And here lies the solution to their problems, a relatively simple device, that does its job quickly, efficiently and with better results with any other option. The only sacrifice you need to make is to use your own citizens, and this isn't a problem, seeing as the incredible standards Cloudsdale has. It's a double edged blade, and it cuts exactly where you want it to. But, now you can't go back. Can you imagine going public with this information? There'd be mass hysteria. So many crimes committed in the same room, like clockwork. So they're caught in a rut, now. They have to keep going, until a point comes where they develop a machine (and an alibi) that renders the previous crimes null to the public. But what is the appropriate response? Would you go public with this information, were you privy to it, or would you keep quiet? For the greater good of everypony, it seems that silence is the only safe response. What do you guys think?

I come back to these songs very so often and have nothing but emotional punches in the chest, I will NEVER have the pleasure of hearing these songs for the first time again, but yet here I am, still enjoying them almost a decade later.

It is almost October of 2020 and this song is still an interesting, wholly unique, and beautiful sound. I admire the hell out of Wooden Toaster's work and I hope they realize just how truly talented of a composer they actually are.

This song and Awoken were uploaded on my birthday. I miss this guy so much. I have never been a brony, but he truly was a god of fanmade songs and a big inspiration to bronies, with his cool looking OC and his awesome dark electro songs that strongly reminds of Daft Punk. So instead of saying happy birthday to myself, i’m going to say happy birthday to these songs.

1 year later woodentoaster's mechanical prototype body was found in a scrapyard busted to pieces... The reconstruction process began in order to try to reshape the mecho pony and was successful. The robo designer and mechanical engineer 7-Volt reshaped the damaged parts and components. Woodentoaster has awoken and taking back control

For me this is one of those songs that give you a vibe no other song can give you, this song is truly unique and it makes me feel so good for some reason...i've been listening to this since like I was 13, and I am now 18 (almost 19) still enjoying this masterpiece.
I remember when this song was first released I was in 11th grade... I ran off from class so I could listen to it for the first time. I hid in a supply closet. Still is one of my favorite songs and I have this crazy memory to go with it.
It's been over 6 years since I first heard this masterpiece, and it still is such a gem of a song.

From a political stance, the Rainbow Factory is absolutely fascinating to me. We have a race that demands absolute perfection from its populace, to the point where any smudge against its reputation cannot be allowed. And here lies the solution to their problems, a relatively simple device, that does its job quickly, efficiently and with better results with any other option. The only sacrifice you need to make is to use your own citizens, and this isn't a problem, seeing as the incredible standards Cloudsdale has. It's a double edged blade, and it cuts exactly where you want it to.
But, now you can't go back. Can you imagine going public with this information? There'd be mass hysteria. So many crimes committed in the same room, like clockwork. So they're caught in a rut, now. They have to keep going, until a point comes where they develop a machine (and an alibi) that renders the previous crimes null to the public.
But what is the appropriate response? Would you go public with this information, were you privy to it, or would you keep quiet? For the greater good of everypony, it seems that silence is the only safe response.
What do you guys think?

Beach Ball There were other ways to make rainbows, but living pegasi were deemed to be the best source. It was an excellent excuse for them to weed out inferior citizens under the guise of failed flight test = banishment.
